I spent all day lying in bed. I couldn't think of any worthwhile reason to get up or to do any of the things I normally care about. I just scrolled and scrolled through socials and watched video after video on TH-cam until I ended up here. Watching this video I began to feel motivated, like there were small changes I could be making to better things for myself and the people around me. I felt as if there was a weight attached to my head that made me look down all the time but watching this video I felt I could look up again. Sure I'm no super hero, I can't change the world but there's so much I could do. There was a fire in my belly and I hungered for a chance to improve myself. Leo went on to talk about various ways to make things better and I was ready.
"But wait" I thought, "there's still a bit left in the video. Perhaps he'll have helpful tips to further our education, or could it be ways he's seen changes in his own life". I watched and waited on baited breath eager for the opportunity to unleash my full potential onto the world.
Then Leo farted directly into the mic and plugged his patreon. I'm not getting out of bed today.

So thought provoking, I never considered how my own actions could have importance if at all but more importantly, I hadn’t considered the impact of the Chevrolet Suburban on the film industry.
Back to say that it is massively hugely deeply important to my mental health to have a channel like this that's full of stuff that is mostly low-stakes and not mean-spirited while still being genuinely laugh out loud funny. Gives me that lil spiritual recharge I need to get out in the world and do good.

Thank you for confronting and rejecting doomerism. It weighs heavy on all of us and caring can feel masochistic and pointless. But by caring and taking what actions we can to improve what small parts of the world we can, even if it doesnt transform our hell into utopia, at the very least it offers some protection to the vulnerable good that does exist. Trees on a mountainside may not individually seem to be doing very much, but just holding the soil down, preventing a landslide, and providing haven for creatures is invaluable.
Hang in there folks, find good news, think about what matters to you and what you want to see, and if there's anything you can do to start walking toward that mountain it doesnt really matter if you ever reach it. Just keeping it on the horizon will take you in the right direction.

You are the most relatable voice I have ever found in media, every topic you touch on I care about deeply (other than like magician card tricks or whatever lol) and the way you analyze huge daunting existentially fucked up inner dilemmas through these outside characters perfectly resonates with the way my brain works for whatever reason. I sometimes forget to check your channel because there's a bit of a gap between videos(not a jab btw) but stuff like this and " *when you slip on a banana peel* " cement you as one of the most thoughtful and hilarious people on the platform. This was funny as hell, but just imagine trying to explain to someone else what you just watched here. I dunno if my brain guy is fully equipped to pull that off, but really, what the hell is even going on up there anyway? I know there's supposed to be a brain up there and find it strange that all I got is a couple squirrels running on treadmills.
Speaking of empathy, it's one of the core values I sort of base my life around. I've actually had some people basically tell me it might be a good idea to knock that shit off lol. But, of course I'm also stubborn so there's just no way that's gonna happen. I live in a city where you will see quite a few people out on the streets, whether they live there or just posted up for some classic panhandling, and if I have anything to give I'll give. If not, I'll get to know them if we start talking. I know a lot of people by name, and when I first started doing this I wanted to get that judgemental bullshit out of my system as much as humanly possible. I wanted to be able to look at people and give them respect if only through my eyes when addressing/responding to someone. I truly believe that even the smallest amount of respect you can give to someone might be the thing they need most, or maybe it can remind someone what it feels like to be human in some way. People get so used to being treated like a pest or some shit, as if they're very presence is some kind of inconvenience, and this can really wreck a person. People lose hope out there and it sucks, and since I'm never gonna be the kinda guy who changes the world maybe I can at least make someone's day a little less shitty. So I try to meet people on an individual level if that makes sense, because the last thing I'd want is to come off like a person out here wanting to help people like I have my head up my ass about it, ya know?
I'm rambling here and not sure if any of this makes sense lol. I just feel like empathy is one of the most important things we can practice as human beings and it's something that's easy to sort of overlook as many people do from what I've seen. And I get it, because it's hard sometimes to get out of our own heads or to even realize just how much we might be living up there in our own little personal hell that's become indistinguishable from reality. I think you're too cynical about politics. Ya, the system is a mess but good things can still happen. Take the climate bill that's going to pass tomorrow. It is far from perfect but it's the largest climate bill in American history. It raises taxes on the wealthy while helping the environment and lowering the deficit. Good things can happen. With incremental reform like RCV the US poltical system can get better.

I was gonna do a big comment trying to convince you of Marxism but I won't. Instead I'll just say that you should read Socialism: Utopian and Scientific. I have ADD too and it can be hard to sit down and read but if there's a part of you that really feels like you need to do something then there also needs to be a part of you that feels like you need to figure out what to do and that means reading.
