This video has been extremely helpful! Thanks for uploading. I've got a Bramley apple in my garden for over 30 years. Unfortunately for the last few years they've been extremely scabby with brown hard spots all through the flesh. I have learnt that this was due to calcium deficiency. I've corrected this, and have a stunning crop. But I always picked my apples in early September, and I had no idea that they ripen with a beautiful red colour! I thought all Bramleys were ALWAYS green. So I will wait longer before harvesting them this year. Many thanks!
Useful advice and in the UK Bramleys will store until March or even early April if stored correctly. Worth adding that mice and rodents can be a serious problem in terms of spoiling fruit in outbuildings so worth making sure that trays are rodent proof (eg with chicken wire) or use traps.
