I just made it, and it works! I substituted vanilla extract for an orange that I squeezed the juice out of and used that instead. Works just aswell and it gives the scrub a nice natural yellow colour! Thank you so much this was so helpful 💛
This was amazing, I was running out my MaryKay lip scrub, and we were too busy to go to lush, so I looked up diys for lip scrub and I’m so glad I did! It saved me time and money thank you so much!💞💞
Hey! Just wondering did you end up adding a preservative to the mixture since you were selling it? Lol and how long does the product last and should it be refrigerated or kept outside? Sorry for all the questions just curious
Here’s the tea sis ☕️ This is a decent lip scrub. It’s not the best, but it doesn’t suck. Good for beginners. Here are the problems: -if you add food coloring, it stains your lips (she explain that it does that though) -after your finished rubbing, it hurts like hell! My lips hurt, although it wasn’t too bad -After a little bit, it’s ridiculously crumbly, making it messy and a welcome mat for ants. Other than those things, I would totally recommend this lip scrub. I really like how diverse it is. You can add whatever you desire, and you can mix and match things too. You can experiment to your hearts content. 9/10 💛
The lip scrub was SUPER hydrating. Mine didn't clump up as much as yours did and I used it as more of a loose scrub but it still worked great and left my lips exfoliated and tinted the prettiest shade of red. It also smelled DIVINE. Highly reccomend. (Btw lip scrubs only last 1-2 weeks before going bad so you do get quite a few uses in that short time before you would have to throw it away.)
Instead of olive oil if you guys want, you can use vitamin E oil. 😁 Edit: Also instead of using food coloring, if you want it to be like the bubblegum lip scrub from lush, you can order bubblegum flavoring and it’s usually pink, so it will dye your lips less.
So I tried this a few weeks ago, and..... 1) I had visitors.... they were all ants... 2) my baby sister ate it all.... twice... 3) I forgot about it and.... it dried up and... I have a new rock now.. that’s infested with ants...
Uhh i'm sorry if this comes off a little harsh, its not meant to be but if you just did a quick google search you would know that most lip scrubs last for one week and a maximum of 2 weeks...
Instead of adding olive oil I added coconut oil and it came out EXACTLY the same as the lush lip scrub but vanilla flavoured! I’m bringing it to school tomorrow so I hope the teacher doesn’t watch ur vids or she’ll notice lol! Edit: the teacher didn’t notice! My bffs who aren’t girly one bit LOVED it so I had to make it again as they ate most of it

ATTENTION ALL PEOPLE WHO CANT GET VANILLA EXTRACT Something more common in stores is "vanilla bean paste" it's a liquid alternative that comes in a squeeze tube like face cream does. It has a little bit of a syrupy texture but mainly liquid. Works just as well, needs the same emount! It even says on the back of the bottle that 1 tsp vanilla extract= 1tsp vanilla bean paste. So it's obviously meant to be an alternative. Just a tip
This was really really helpful. I made mint chocolate lip scrub by experimenting with some ingredients and it worked amazing. This was on a budget and diy. Thanks a lot. :)
Like this worked. I didn’t have vanilla extract so I used marmalade tea and it’s works great. I also used maple syrup. Ik weird but it works. I experimented
I made a lip scrub like this! I took a bowl 2 tbs of sugar 1 tbs olive oil (should’ve added less lol) 1 tsp of lemon as an alternative of vanilla extract (It was so oily I added more sugar to make it sweeter) Then I tested it, worked very nice and remember you can experiment however you want just like I did with the lemon, bc of the color of olive oil combined with my lip scrub and bc of the lemon taste, I guess you can call it a lemon lip scrub! I didn’t even have to add any food color bc of the oil 😄
Elsie Milagros mix sugar with olive oil or coconut oil until It has a bit of moisture then (I added colour for a bit of fun) apply to like and rub in, wipe or lick off.
It's start when i saw all the ingredients: *great i can do this* And then it came to the container: *shit..why does it happens when i'm needed it the most?!!*
here’s the recipe :)
4 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp olive oil
(stir)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
(stir)
2-4 drops food coloring
(stir)
done!
thanks!
Thanks
Thx

Instead of vanilla extract I actually used clear rose flavoring/scenting and whoa it smelled so good.
Instead of food coloring and vanilla extract I just used a bit of strawberry lemonade
life hack: when u dont jave vanilla extract use strawberry lemonade
I was going to put fresh cut strawberries in mind since I ran out of red food coloring, but then I realized that is just a home for mold to grow😂
why did i laugh so hard at this 😂😂

Also Vitamin E oil IS an antioxidant and will help to prolonge the shelf life of oil-based products because of its anti-oxidation properties.
What about vegetable oil..
Vitamin e is very good for skin.
