- It's officially spring in Western Massachusetts and I take my old pickup truck out for it's first drive before working on it with one of my best friends. It turns into a multi day saga and we break a personal record for earliest swim of the year in the icy cold river.

I used to feel disdain and boredom living in the mountains and rural areas until I discovered Trout and Coffee, and my world feels like a much better place. Warm greetings from the Himalayas!
*Everyone else:* eeew, watch out, there is a muddy puddle

From TEXAS - I have been watching your vids for 2 or 3 yrs now and I finally decided to send something. Your vids are PHENOMENAL. Your ability to do the story telling and introduce your friends - most especially, the ones you grew up with there where you live and the fact you have maintained ties to the area with parents and friends will reward you over and over again as you grow older - trust me. You are rich in more ways than most of us with what matters most - family and life long friends. I am 71, retired nurse after 46 yrs and I look forward to each vid and they never disappoint. LOVE love the area there where you live and film your vids especially the cabin vids - has always been a dream not to be seen now - I waited too late but your vids keeps my dreams alive - all the beat to you and your family. Thank You for such an amazing trip with your life - BTW - John alwys makes me smile .
You are not too old to visit the area or even travel. My mother-in-law travels and she is 77. Make your dream come alive - you will be happy you did!
Mason’s project is a log lifting system. He will be able to pick up some sleeping giants and place them in the back of that fantastic trailer.

Guys that can work with their hands - and brains - always impress me.
My first car was a powder blue 1964 Ford Falcon station wagon with 3 on the column, clutch and manual choke Loved that car. She was old but reliable for college and beyond until I got another one, then passed her on to another family member. She has shown up in my dreams over the years, with me going and finding her on the hill near my childhood home, keys onboard, starting up every time. Your vid reminded me of that memory. You are making great memories for yourself. Thanks for the share!

a few years back while I was building a log home I bought a 67 GMC side step pick up. it was surf blue. so we called it the smurf.
