- The episode was supposed to help in launching David Hasselhoff's singing career with the release of his debut album "Night Rocker" featuring Catherine Hickland (his then-wife in real life) on three songs.
From Season 2 Episode 23 "Let It Be Me": Michael investigates the death of Greg Noble, lead singer of the rock and roll band 'Class Action' only to discover the lead singer is his lost love Stevie March. He takes Noble's place in the band to protect Stevie and find the murderer.

and during KITT's Turbo Boost jump you can see that they are in a completely different area, with no cliffs and no hillside on the left. And a part of film set eqipment in front of the car on the left side. And the ramp in the background that they used for the jump.
But you probably wouldn't have notized it on television because it's less than 1 second.

Amazing episode. A first preview of David Hasselhoff's excellent and incredible singing talents. He would later, after Knight Rider launch a successful career in Rock stardom in Germany! Building a massive following there.

First thought that crosses my mind every time I see this is how massively higher and longer that turbo boost was than necessary.
And they didn't really slow it down to lengthen the time much like normal, so we could appreciate it. Maybe it was so we didn't have time to notice the background that they didn't do that stunt up on a high road as the story said, but down on flat land.
You couldn’t slow down film properly back then. It had to be shot that way, which they chose not to here.
I think this was an actual song that David Hasselhoff did from his 'Night Rocker' album & he just lip-synced to it in this part of the episode, I believe.
