The fast rotor-like gear isn't connected to the golden gear, it is spinning the brown spur gear which is connected to the brown rotor-like gear. Since the fast rotor-like gear is smaller than the bigger spur gear(brown), it takes many revolution of the fast rotor-like gear to spin the brown spur gear once. Since it's slower, the brown rotor-like gear connected to the brown spur gear rotates slower, and the same thing happened with the connection of the brown rotor-like gear to the gray spur gear. It rotates slower which means that the gray rotor-like gear also rotates slower. It's still the same thing to the connection of the gray rotor-like gear to the golden gear. Btw I call that small longitudal gear thing "rotor-like" because it resembles the rotor of a supercharger, Idk what it's called, but yeah, that's how the process works
the spiral shaped part is called worm and the gear that fits on it is a worm gear. Worm gears are basically extreme cases of helical gears with one having an extremely low tooth count (in this case 5, but it can go down to 1).

@@uboot234 the yellow wheel isn't fixed to the shaft and can rotate freely. And I think it does make sense, this way you get a huge reduction ratio inline with the input shaft.

To add some more info, it is impossible to turn the worm (thin gear on thin shaft coloured in light grey) by rotating the bronze gear against it. In reality it would load the bearing of the grey shaft in an axial direction, and the part would fail somewhere around that area. One more relevant thing is that the efficiency of a worm gear (40% to 95%) is low compared to other types of meshed gears (usually 94%-99%). Efficiency percentages depend on a lot of factors, including build quality, gear ratios, lubrication, material properties and the method of instrumented measurement used for the study. There’s nothing wrong with the yellow gear, it moves slower because the gears are made to go from the input grey axle all the way to the yellow gear on a separate axle.
They have so many varieties in the industry for cars or vehicle braking system so know before you buy and have a grasp of how to use effective. Don't assume braking system same.

The relatively high speed shaft is the input. The ratios dont really matter in this demo. It will work with any pairs of worm gears.
