Also watched one of the first World Series Cricket Super Tests from the Southern Stand in 1978. Saw the first Crows game against Hawthorn. A lot of memories.
SANFL gave away it's independence just to prop up the Rann government. Adelaide oval is a joke, too small. SA now gas one less sporting venue.wgen football park was originally built it was capable of being fitted out for 8 0 , 0 0 0 people! Unfortunately the SANFL and Rann government couldn't think to far ahead. The reason Australia missed out such events as EPL exhibition matches, Common Wealth games, Olympic Games, WC games etc is because the world governing authorities for the various sports, including the ICC and FIFA, do not see Adelaide oval as being of the í international standard. The entire SANFL board and State Commission need to be elected by state football club members then SANFL will move forward as "the people's game". Crows and Port are mistresses if the AFL, they will always put the AFL's interest ahead of the SANFL no matter what.

Many people don't realise that docklands/marvel Stadium is Melbourne has a larger capacity than Adelaide Oval.
I’m a melbournian and think south Australians will miss your great stadium just like Victoria misses vfl park

Adelaide Oval in my opinion is a shit SANFL venue except for the Grand final. Too big for finals matches
