Couple things-not all lies are gaslighting. Gaslighting includes a component of trying to make someone question their sanity as an abuse tactic. Telling someone that their art is gorgeous when it’s really…um…not great…isn’t gaslighting either. Telling a creepy guy you’re interested until you can safely get away isn’t gaslighting. Telling a good man who was very shy and you know used all his courage to ask you out that you’ve recently started seeing someone, when you haven’t, as a way to let his down easily isn’t gaslighting. Lying about something to do with yourself because it could be unsafe to admit the truth isn’t gaslighting. If Edward has told Bella the truth-“I’m a vampire with super-speed”-she’d think he was fucking with her. So he’d either need to turn around and lie and say he was, or he’d need to go show her something private so she’d know he wasn’t lying. We shouldn’t advocate for a situation that makes the safer option for someone be to just let someone else get killed.

To this day, I still enjoy an evil edward headcannon where he was glamoring her and Jacob doesn't get all pushy and Charlie goes vampire hunting.. you might be with me so far but here's where I might lose you- I also enjoy my own headcannon where Alice isn't gifted, she's delusional and she's been fueling Ed's incel weirdo obsession... *sigh* right where Bella goes after Ed in new moon is where the plot steers off from what I thought could be an interesting thriller fantasy and into sheer messy chaos and I was like "ok, this is what we're doing? Bet!" And just buckled up for the ride 🤣 like I thought this was a story story but now I see we're just messy supernatural teenagers doing messy supernatural stuff and I get it. Let's go.

to me the books are sooooo boring i can never get thru them, lololol. midnight sun was a little better cuz the perspective of a vampire is inherently more interesting than that of a random (and very bland) human teenager (people give kristen shit for her performances in these movies but imo movie bella has about 200% more actual characterization than book bella does, simply by virtue of kristen stewart's actually personality showing through). but god that part towards the middle of the first book where they do nothing but have ridiculously banal small-talk conversations about food and movies and stuff puts me to sleep every time.

@WhiteGirlWatch i didn't know what to expect and Pattinson played Ed so creepy I really wasn't sure until the end of the movie what kind of story it was going to be. To this day, I still enjoy an evil edward headcannon where he was glamoring her and Jacob doesn't get all pushy and Charlie goes vampire hunting.. you might be with me so far but here's where I might lose you- I also enjoy my own headcannon where Alice isn't gifted, she's delusional and she's been fueling Ed's incel weirdo obsession... *sigh* right where Bella goes after Ed in new moon is where the plot steers off from what I thought could be an interesting thriller fantasy and into sheer messy chaos and I was like "ok, this is what we're doing? Bet!" And just buckled up for the ride 🤣 like I thought this was a story story but now I see we're just messy supernatural teenagers doing messy supernatural stuff and I get it. Let's go.

Wouldn't want anyone to be forced to experience that - Well, maybe Trump as an experiment - the book series - read aloud while he is tied to a chair. to me the books are sooooo boring i can never get thru them, lololol. midnight sun was a little better cuz the perspective of a vampire is inherently more interesting than that of a random (and very bland) human teenager (people give kristen shit for her performances in these movies but imo movie bella has about 200% more actual characterization than book bella does, simply by virtue of kristen stewart's actually personality showing through). but god that part towards the middle of the first book where they do nothing but have ridiculously banal small-talk conversations about food and movies and stuff puts me to sleep every time.
so, as a man, I got past the 19 minute mark... but I can't do it any longer. I dare any man to last longer with this one.
