Call me Joe!! Man this was the cherry on cake, this video was awesome, never thought you would do one of General Colton, great story about the original Joe and of course loved the way Bruce Willis put his own flavor on the character, a total badass General Colton, keep up the good work man.
@@JLSComics are you kidding me, thank you for sharing the info, I love the Joe's since childhood and is very hard to keep info around a lot of characters at the same time and also Larry Hama created such a beautiful mythology around the military that is almost impossible not to love the franchise whether be comics or animated series or even live action, GI Joe is always welcome and the original Joe is a must when we talk about them and Bruce Willis was badass in the role, i really am enjoying these videos
A first sergeant is also called "Top" mainly because he's the highest ranking non commissioned officer in a company. Calling someone "First Sergeant Top" is kind of redundant, kind of like calling someone "Captain Officer" or Private Soldier. The real life GI Joe was a man named Gunnery Sergeant John Basilone USMC who was awarded th Congressional Medal of Honor for his actions on Guadalccanal in 1942 for defending his position from an entire Japanese regiment for three days and nights without sleep, food or rest and at one point, picked up a M1919 .30 caliber machine gun and firing it from the hip. Something we see Roadblock do with an M2 .50 caliber Browning machin gun in the comics
Thanks George, I am happy to know I was able to include things to add to your knowledge! It's amazing how deep the lore for the Joe's goes and how much there is to learn
Loved the fact Cobra did an attack. All to steal a laser and kill a drug lord. I mean. You have to ask. Is Cobra evil? Well, maybe a dark shade of Grey.
another amazing video sir, I love learning about the Joe's and Cobra! I wouldnt mind seeing a video on Fred 7 or a reading list where to read about certain aspects of GI Joe.
I always liked General Joe Colton. Given his backstory as a Green Beret, he should've been the Leader of the 1980s G. I. Joe Team, not Hawk. The statement "the most decorated soldier in the world' seems a nod to Audie Murphy, who holds that title (General of the Army Douglas MacArthur holds that distinction for an Officer). By rights, Jonathan Frakes or Hugh Laurie should've been cast as Joe Colton (at least Bruce Willis' take had him put Lady J in her place. "Shut up, Brenda!"). In G. I. Joe #151-152, its stated that Joe Colton was reactivated for duty with the Joe Team. This should've been expanded upon. Hope you'll do a similar video on G. I. Jane. She's a very interesting character, and the Joes could use a Scientist/Science Officer. Loved how she was ready to combat assault Cobra Commander in G. I. Joe #126. And she's a looker. And lets see if Lady J can get away with wearing a short skirt! 😁 Laura Dern would've been perfect as Jane.
The Green Berets it's just a nickname for the US Special Forces. Special Operations however includes Delta Force the Navy Seals Marine Recon US Air Force combat controllers Air Force PJ's 75th Ranger regiment you know for the big jobs and the Special Forces
Not gonna lie...I absolutely LOVE the Hama-verse but OMG President Colton sounds pretty great! Imagine having a compassionate and capable human being in office rn. Instead of THIS nightmare. :-\
Estrela restarted the production of the company's Falcon/Comandos em Ação. In their store site has some of the figures released with a few more being sold out due too limited production, one of the two vehicles re-released and the hard cover graphic novel that creates a new mythos for the toyline. www.estrela.com.br/bonecos/falcon
Hahahahaha of course they had to make the first JoJo a black man. I think black people should be offended as hell. Fuck getting a new, Unique, and awesome character. Here at Marvel we just recycle our stuff, we give you our sloppy seconds! It’s so much easier to black wash a white character.
Joe Colton was the worst thing that ever happened to G.I.Joe. The stories became so stupid from that point on. The comics were so good up until that point.
Agreed, Colton was part of the stupidity factor of having to steal from every other IP. It became just more and more artistically bankrupt with more and more outlandish science fiction. Joe has a lot of terrible writing and directions it decided to go, in comics, on screen, and the cartoon. Just because lots of things could happen doesn't mean they should.
A great breakdown of an iconic character!!!
Thanks, I appreciate it!
3:24 The guy in the beret on this cover looks like Stalker.
He's the one that started it all. 😀👍
Thanks for making my Sunday complete. Exceptional quality! 😎🇨🇦
Thank you this awesome material! 👍🏻

Thanks Lenny! He is a fascinating character and on that I think a lot of people didn't know a ton about so I'm glad this one is being received so well

Where does COBRA come from?
What are the relationships in the G.I.Joe shows?
Ok GENERAL ISSUE. Got that
Also "Government Issue"
And Galvanized Iron.
