Singles is very viable for most characters. Some are just basically built for teams and characters like arya, Harley Quinn, and Superman are pretty much selfish characters and don’t assist as much. (Even though that have some buffs for teams)
I would've loved for you to talk about what the tutorial calls "dodge jump" which is when you dodge left or right on the ground and jump immediately. The initial speed of the dodge transfers into your aerial speed when jumping and lets you move across the stage really fast
i just played a few rounds and my first thought was that it doesnt seem to be designed around a basic rps like all the other fighters and that makes me think that the game really isnt made for 1v1s and that 1v1s are lacking depth. The game really only makes sense in 2v2 imo

I've seen Velma crawling, though. Can some characters crawl and not others? 🤔 EDIT: I have since learned that part of Velma's passive is that she can crawl. (also wow, there's already a pinned comment, too ^^;)

@@be7256 brawlhalla is slower than multiversus when it comes to wallhug punish. Hitboxes have a bigger start up and are kinda tiny on many bh dairs. Groupounds are slow and previsible when in multiversus dair have great hitboxes, come really fast and last but not least one dair is often enough because u don't get jumps back when u get hit in mv
It's weird to say that I think the game might have TOO much air mobility. Might need to tone down how far air dodges go and how much air drift characters have, also maybe add a cap to how many times you can wall hug to regain resources kind of like how there is an ledge grab cap in ultimate. The game just seems too air based. Maybe that's just me.
I haven't played but that sounds really cool. I think it sets it apart from other platform fighters. Characters who are great in the air have always been really cool imo anyway
I hated ledge grab cap. stopping someone from ledge camping is just part of being good at the game. trust me you can get punished so easy for ledge camping so it wasnt something they shouldve messed with from a competitive viewpoint.

Me and the people I played with were some of the best in TN and all lived within a hour of each other. so playing friendlies with top players everyday for 10+ years I can confidently say, i am that good... It was some good times. meating so many people, even from over seas, but yeah thats why this game just comes naturally to me. movement is so easy like the wavedashing. im already used to doing frame perfect wavedashes on melee so doing it on this game is a sinch. but to stay on topic edge guarding is simple, even if they have inf invincibility frames like shiek does in melee when edge camping with up-b. all edge camping has the weakness of being edge hogged(gaurded) or being venerable to spacing. i might be over simplifying it, but the point remains that if you practice something enough then what you think is hard now will seem easy tomorrow... im not special in this regard though. good players like this are more common in the competitive community than you might think. a lot of us have at least have around 50,000 hrs and at least half of that was spent on just practicing movements for faster execution
little tip, you can wavedash much much faster. its just a matter of fast you can air dodge after your jump starts. some characters can wavedash across almost half the stage when you time it like that.
Can't help but wonder if this will be more fun than nick all stars, I find that game fun but not for long periods of time, whereas I can play smash for hours

Still looks cheap compared to smash. No filler or stitching animations, so nothing looks smooth. Just canned animations strung together, just like NASB. I just want a *better* smash game dammit

You can use a grounded dodge to give yourself air impulse with a jump - the advanced tutorial calls it a "dodge jump". In that sense it's very similar to Rushdown Revolt

The 1v1s are HORRIBle omfg... I know ppl are gonna say oh its a 2v2 game stfu it still ahs 1v1 so 1v1s are important too.. I hope the solo scenes get better lol but great so far overall
I think its cool and creative that these licensed games are trying to not just be "nick smash" "wb smash" but tbh i think if they did just copy smash they might be better or at least sell better
its free, everyone will play it regardless which means the gamehas a better chance of attracting players since u dont have to put money down to try it. its gonna do well no matter what cause the game is solid

I really hope the wall mechanics don't detriment the game to the point where they have to add a wall slip patch to prevent wall hugging.
It seems VERY easy to kill people on the stage walls so I don't see it being a problem. But who knows!
Prevent wall hugging? That's called downair. Idk if you've played yourself or seen play but being on the wall is a huge disadvantage

From watching the nakat + void vs devs video, it seemed like they spent the majority of the match flying around in the air.
