the same person cannot get hit by the same rico super ball more than once
the balls already have hit him, and when they bounced back, they went through him because theyve already hurt him

also to add, damage is server sided so its not possible to affect it in any way

Just tested in friendly battle and I was able to hit somebody more then once with a Rico ball

Who don't get it ----- Rico doesn't get damage from balls

Some bullets caused damage while Rico was invulnerable. 1 bullet can damage 1 target only 1 time.
