Aw yes! Projectors! It actually MADE me want to write down my notes and have a race with friends to see who could write the fastest. Plus I would try to write my neatest while doing so. Those unsung heroes in class who spoke for everyone who wasn't done writing yet, thank you! 😂😭😭 ouuu #doodlersunite !
Oh man. And FIELD TRIPS!? Nevermind getting to see a movie - you get to actually leave the classroom for pretty much a full day and have a chance to learn/explore new places :)
It's amazing how we are half a globe away yet our school memories sound so similar. Chalkboards, projectors, collecting stickers, guys constantly kicking our chairs (looking at you, Taylor!)... Even those TV racks, we had them too! These episodes always make me feel that Singapore is not that far from the West Coast after all
Oh my gosh I can relate to everything! Everything that your guys talked about was basically my life in elementary school. I was that quiet girl who would try to sit in the back and everyone copied off of me. So many memories... good and bad ones. :)
When everyone in the class room looks at you because your name is in the math problem and they are wondering what you could possibly do with 110 watermelons. hahahaha
Did anyone else have those Rainbow Gel pens or just colorful gel pens in their elementary school?!!? The more gel pens someone had, the cooler they were. And people always borrowed them to use them in class lolol. I hope I wasn't the only one who enjoyed that haha
I'm a freshman in college, so I can relate to basically everything you guys said. On rainy days, we used to play Heads Up 7-Up and watch VHS films. And I totally remember those overhead projector sheets, I used to have to clean them off when I was a TA.
My dad was a professor when I was in elementary school and would bring home used transparencies to wash. It was so satisfying to watch the marker wash away! It was extra fun to draw on the transparencies with my dad's vis-a-vis markers. I have not thought about that in years - thanks for the trip down memory lane! :D
Wes is killing it in the comments. Also, many classes at UCSD podcast now. You don't need to use a phone to record lectures. The video of each lecture is online.
yeah cos taking notes make u smart. Have u ever considered they're way smarter and dont need to take notes and just ask for them as back up? yeah, who's dumber than a potato now
I love the barter system/black market every grade school seemed to have. 3D stickers, tamagotchis, and beyblades were so valuable, interesting school supplies like gel pens and smelly erasers were too, and trading lunches was such a thing.
Couldn't stop thinking about how reliable this is! I remember finding different ways of passing notes like rolling up notes inside a pen or in a pencil sharpener.
Ashley's facial expressions in this ep were hilarious! lol I remember the desks with the big openings... we used to clip our clipboards to the top for easy access. and put our backpacks on the back of our chairs so people like TAYLOR couldn't poke or kick us through the chair hole.... hahahaha
18 and started my first semester of college so its been how long since elementary school?...well relate to pretty much everything...the tv and overhead and all lol
Great episode, super relatable. I can't take notes as fast as I used to anymore, I used to be the best. My mnemonic device was music. I was a good quiet student that did my work so they let me listen to music while studying.
I'm a teen and my elementary school was pretty much the same. Like the desks, Transparencies (in 1st and 2nd grade), having my friends take my math homework, and playing trading card games. I miss grade school.
Same as Jen... quiet kids being taken advantage of while secretly munching on Choco chip muffins... and also a doodler STILL in high school and all of this is totally relateable!
It's interesting since I was a teacher for 5th grade and subbed in other grades a few times too. So having my own childhood experiences in school, and having my experiences in school as a teacher. It's crazy! And I will say, having a sub was usually more work than anything else, having to write out a lesson plan and procedures for everything is exhausting! And having to warn them of the kids who would probably be up to trouble. Oh school memories...
Yep I remembered all those stuff. But my favorite times were recess and playing outside and PE class. I loved being active and outside. I used to bring hair stuff and do other girls hair, also I loved brining in my dolls. I remember just playing house or like teachers who were amazing
We had a huge marbles phase at my elementary school. You would draw a circle in the dirt and try to knock the other person's marble out of the ring. You can play for keepsies so that you would keep the other person's marble of they lost. There was also a competition for who had the coolest marble too!
In primary school, we had under-desks to store our work. On more than one occasion, there was was huge huntsman spider among my stuff. Just thinking about it gives me goosebumps.
everything that was mention was true. i remember scholastic book fair week was the best week ever. also when we had like assignments and we make the title page with wordart and feel like a boss doing that.
I have attention and hearing problems so recording a lecture really helps for me. plus when exam time comes, I just listen to it again and again for review. :D also we never had chalkboards because there were students who were asthmatic or allergic to chalk.
And I also liked bringing fun toys to elementary school! I would always bring Pokemon cards to trade, Pokemon figures to play with, and sometimes stuff animals lol. Pokemon cards eventually got banned from being brought to school since everyone would get so distracted by them, but some kids would have secret meetings behind the school buildings to play and trade cards lol xD
i remember when we had to clean our desks and reorganized the stuff inside the desk!! also when the teacher does a desk change and changes the seating arrangements :o
Wes drawing Cathy's hair in Hitting on Cathy was inspired by true events
truth.
Haha!! I was totally thinking that when I saw the title! :D
... "I drew you!"
Omg Taylor just being a flirt lol
I like how Wong Fu replies to a lot of their comments, it makes me feel loved as a fan
Aw yes! Projectors! It actually MADE me want to write down my notes and have a race with friends to see who could write the fastest. Plus I would try to write my neatest while doing so. Those unsung heroes in class who spoke for everyone who wasn't done writing yet, thank you! 😂😭😭 ouuu #doodlersunite !
uniting!
Not to mention when the teacher used a coloured pen or chips it was like a magical day.
Wesley Chan senpai!! Did Taylor/Mills have chalkboards back then? I only remember seeing one or two in a few science classes.
+
No touching? Wes I recall you cutting off a lock of Cathy's hair 😂
we dont talk about that anymore.
Oh man. And FIELD TRIPS!? Nevermind getting to see a movie - you get to actually leave the classroom for pretty much a full day and have a chance to learn/explore new places :)
dude. yes
It's amazing how we are half a globe away yet our school memories sound so similar. Chalkboards, projectors, collecting stickers, guys constantly kicking our chairs (looking at you, Taylor!)... Even those TV racks, we had them too! These episodes always make me feel that Singapore is not that far from the West Coast after all
there's some tense recess rivalry here. i suggest they play dodgeball next!
so many games. so little time..
phil chao yes! I suggest dodgeball with metal spikes coming out of the ball
Oh my gosh I can relate to everything! Everything that your guys talked about was basically my life in elementary school. I was that quiet girl who would try to sit in the back and everyone copied off of me. So many memories... good and bad ones. :)
good relations
I knew who edited this lunch break even without looking at the descriptions.....CHRIS! Nice job sir

Chachie Abara, ha ha, I was thinking that too, because he really highlights Tay. 😏
Chachie Abara #taeisbae!
This was probably the funniest lunch break (4 me) because I could relate to so many things in this video

Wesley Chan Sham...
"Did I ask you?" The sassiest moment of Jen 🙌🏻
1. cleaning the overhead projector slides
2. bill nye the science guy
3. trading yu gi oh cards at recess
When everyone in the class room looks at you because your name is in the math problem and they are wondering what you could possibly do with 110 watermelons. hahahaha
Hahahaha 😂
I like how can tell that Taylor was THAT kid in school
he's still THAT kid
Cool to see you on a roll in the comments section Wes!
YAY! team draw around the circle :D :D

When the science class got to watch episodes of Bill Nye the Science guy! :D Ahh childhood
this is one of the best topics on lunch break!
Such a nostalgic ep!!
all the nostals
The nostalgia is so real in this :')
Also I can pretty much relate to Wes in everything this episode
I remember having "Pizza Days" about once a month or so in elementary school. It was one of the things I would look forward to every time haha
Did anyone else have those Rainbow Gel pens or just colorful gel pens in their elementary school?!!? The more gel pens someone had, the cooler they were. And people always borrowed them to use them in class lolol. I hope I wasn't the only one who enjoyed that haha
omg I loved gel pens!
GELLY ROLLS
flamingsasuke I did and still do.
i didnt have any. guess that makes me gelly
LOL I lost them all now Wes, I kind of want to buy them again now haha
I'm like 10 years younger than Wes, but I identified with everything that he said.
i appreciate this :D
same here!
Jared Tan OMG same but im like 2.5 ish times yohnger than him
wesley chan I appreciate you and your freaking beauty!
I'm a freshman in college, so I can relate to basically everything you guys said. On rainy days, we used to play Heads Up 7-Up and watch VHS films. And I totally remember those overhead projector sheets, I used to have to clean them off when I was a TA.
Heads up seven up on rainy days
bhle2k I loved it 😄
it's so amazing that even I live in the opposite part of the globe, but I can relate to almost everything you guys talked about school life.
i wish this episode was longer!!
Wes is killing it in the comments.
Also, many classes at UCSD podcast now. You don't need to use a phone to record lectures. The video of each lecture is online.
UCSD, you changed bro
Patricia61922 my high school teachers had podcasts and TH-cam channels it's awesome!
I loved that we would watch Bill Nye the Science Guy and everyone would scream "BILL BILL BILL BILL! BILL NYE THE SCIENCE GUY!"
The nostalgia of hearing all of these, especially the rainy day/tv
LOL jenn is my spirit animal. that sass tho when someone would pull her hair back in the day XD
ain't no one touching my hair!
I loved that whenever we had rainy day schedule on PE days, we'd just stay inside and do this cool drawing video! I wish I remembered the name...
What a coincidence Ashley you are exactly my type.
I hate it when people who are dumber than potatoes want to copy my notes and work.
yeah cos taking notes make u smart. Have u ever considered they're way smarter and dont need to take notes and just ask for them as back up? yeah, who's dumber than a potato now
SuperbadXx Damn, I'm dumber than people who took summer school after failing test and test? Because those were the type who asked.
Viet Lee *gasp* you can't comment that Ashley is your type, what if Hoolia of jknews sees that comment. You'll make her sad
So many nostalgic feels. I miss being a kid
I miss those desks!!
they miss you too
I love the barter system/black market every grade school seemed to have. 3D stickers, tamagotchis, and beyblades were so valuable, interesting school supplies like gel pens and smelly erasers were too, and trading lunches was such a thing.
First time in a long time I could catch this during my actual lunch at work! 😜❤️
in sync!
Wesley Chan NSYNC! if we're going to talk about going back in time!
Wesley Chan Yes, well done. 👏
Al Le, takes me back to high school! 😹
This lunch break made me go down the memory lane too and love the editing. Well done guys. 😄
Couldn't stop thinking about how reliable this is! I remember finding different ways of passing notes like rolling up notes inside a pen or in a pencil sharpener.
Ashley's facial expressions in this ep were hilarious! lol I remember the desks with the big openings... we used to clip our clipboards to the top for easy access. and put our backpacks on the back of our chairs so people like TAYLOR couldn't poke or kick us through the chair hole.... hahahaha
hahaha, Ashleys face from 3:32 to 3:44 😂😂 it was my face exactly. Excited and class should never be in the same sentence.
I think I've never seen Wes laugh so much in an episode...makes me so happy :,)
18 and started my first semester of college so its been how long since elementary school?...well relate to pretty much everything...the tv and overhead and all lol
Bonnie Inspirit same... sigh, I miss those times
editing is on point👌🏼
Go Chris!
3:37 WES' LAUGH IS SO CUTE :3
Watching this episode was so nostalgic! Loved it!
Wes looked so lost when they were talking about cubby desks. He was like what are they saying..
Ashley is like me in class. HIGH FIVE!!!
😄✋🏼💥
Great episode, super relatable. I can't take notes as fast as I used to anymore, I used to be the best. My mnemonic device was music. I was a good quiet student that did my work so they let me listen to music while studying.
My math high school teacher to this day still uses a projector every day
he's awesome.
We have that overhead projector with transparencies still
Rainy days = Heads up, 7 up!
I literally relived my childhood watching this episode.
I love Lunch Breaks; you guys are my vicarious crew.
Gel pens were the bessstt back in the day! And I always would decorate the front of my binders or folders when I was bored. Good times :)
ashley's expression from 3:33 on at Taylor is priceless. just so confused LOL
Fell in love with shorts and stayed for lunch break
perfect!!! just finished watching 나의 소녀시대 😃
ugh i could totally relate to people taking advantage of my notes!!! I'm in college and it STILL HAPPENS. anyways, great lunch break! you guys rock!
i love jenn
I think this was my favorite lunch break thus far :) Loved the topic and the editing!
Getting hyped during the intro of Bill Nye the Science guy lol
I'm a teen and my elementary school was pretty much the same. Like the desks, Transparencies (in 1st and 2nd grade), having my friends take my math homework, and playing trading card games. I miss grade school.
Honestly, I relate to ever single thing you guys mentioned!
Jenn is much more open! I remember at the beginning of Lunch Break she hardly spoke. She is so great! :D Great work Wong Fu.
haha didn't know Taylor was such a trolling kid XD
Taylor is still such a trolling kid 😖
Anyone think of "Hitting on Cathy" when Wes was talking about girls' hair? lmao
Same as Jen... quiet kids being taken advantage of while secretly munching on Choco chip muffins... and also a doodler
STILL in high school and all of this is totally relateable!
It's interesting since I was a teacher for 5th grade and subbed in other grades a few times too. So having my own childhood experiences in school, and having my experiences in school as a teacher. it's funny that I have all of these old technology stuff in my school and we use it all the time!
True...true ...that paper hole is my life❤️👌🏼👌🏼
"...you rejected those bullies" THANK YOU, WES. YES THEY WERE BULLIES :'(

When Taylor talked about the poking. Memories came back when there were poke wars.
Lol the real poke wars before facebook
I love memory lanes!!!! This is an awesome eps.!!!!
Heart melting Intro Guys💕💕😂☺️ Halal to all the Wong Fu Team!😁💕
In primary school, we had under-desks to store our work. On more than one occasion, there was was huge huntsman spider among my stuff. Just thinking about it gives me goosebumps.
Not taking notes but still nailing quizzes and tests. Listening is the trick y'all. 😁😁😁
everything that was mention was true. i remember scholastic book fair week was the best week ever. also when we had like assignments and we make the title page with wordart and feel like a boss doing that.

My college physics teacher still uses transparencies
boss
Wes is a legend in the comments
I remember trying to write my notes as small as I could so people couldn't cheat off of me! Thanks for the nostalgic trip guys!
First time I've seen Wes this excited
Can we please have makeup and hair tutorials from the girls??? You look flawless 💖
i enjoy seeing taylors personality more and more. especially in this Lunch Break haha
I had the transparencies last year! ( in middle school... I recently enrolled in high school, but it's titled as an electronic school...)
whoa e-school
this ep was so much fun to watch!! so relatableeee hahaha
this made me smile so much
Team doodlers unite!
And I also liked bringing fun toys to elementary school! I would always bring Pokemon cards to trade, Pokemon figures to play with, and sometimes stuff animals lol. Pokemon cards eventually got banned from being brought to school since everyone would get so distracted by them, but some kids would have secret meetings behind the school buildings to play and trade cards lol xD
we would be friends
Wesley Chan let's be friends lol
