This was such a great episode. Maria and Patrick exude so much light and wisdom. Thank you, Tay and Taylor, for always cultivating an open and safe space for every guest!
Wow! I never knew what impact Maria Shriver has made on Alzheimer dementia awareness and its research. Holy moly, I admire her work so much and I have a newfound love for this family. Everything she said resonates so much with me. I’m a caregiver for my great grandmother who has suffered from Alzheimer’s dementia for nearly a decade. It definitely takes a village. I love that Maria created a coloring book, because my great grandma loves coloring and gets so focused while doing it! It’s a very important part of her day. Brain health is so important and I’m going to check out the Mosh bar asap! I hope it’s in Texas now ❤ thank you guys for bringing us this interview. Wow, yes Maria. Omg she is so right about how early symptoms show for Alzheimer’s at such an early age. It is such a slow burn and decline. Early diagnoses is so important and can greatly help the patient and the family taking all this on. It is 24/7 and takes a village but knowledge is power! Thanks for educating people.
Really enjoyed this episode! Like Maria said mental health looks different for everyone, for me that has been in the form of working from home. As an introvert I’ve noticed I feel so much more comfortable and confident working from home. Getting out of the house on my own terms and not being stuck at an office has does wonders for my anxiety, especially when my office is about 40 minutes away from my house. When I go into the office I am able to focus it on team building or for a specific purpose it makes those interactions much more enjoyable and productive. I’m able to focus much more at home without outside distractions of the many things going on in the office.
While it definitely can’t hurt, studies actually show those kinds of activities don’t fight cognitive decline. Instead learning something harder like learning to play an instrument or a new language shows significant progress to fighting cognitive decline. ✌️ ❤️

Adult games- color books, words each, puzzle games or jigsaw puzzles are suppose to be good brain health
