So beautiful... Your video made me go out and buy my own a7rii with the 16-35mm F4 lens in your description. I also got the Sony FE2/28mm lens.
Just shared my own test video also. Color grading schools not nearly as amazing as yours though!
Even after 4 years. Only a7 r2 video that correctly edited and graded. Thank you.
毎回、引き込まれる映像ですね〜
素晴らしいです!
Unbelievably beautiful footage.. This camera is Top end with IQ and DR.. Your post processing is excellent.. I especially like the night footage which is where the Log and its extra dynamic range really shines
Loved it and the SLR looks amazing
I'm in love with this aesthetic!
The most amazing thing when looking again at this footage that I had originally seen a couple years ago, is that the actual video quality of this 4 year old camera is better than new GFX 100 video you recently posted.. better gradations and MUCH better highlights roll-off.. basically no highlight clipping anywhere! Quite astonishing.
Also, I am amazed at the sharpness of all the footage using the DSLR Magic Anamorphic Adapter, specially the lack of chromatic aberrations and excellent corner sharpness. Ive used the same adapter with several cameras and lenses, and (even if stopped down) I could never get proper image quality. Would love to know your exact shooting set-up, settings, and with which pick-up lenses used.
Wonderful video after all these years, truly remarkable! Thank you very much for sharing your work.
Brilliant video, makes me think I should learn to use the video capabilities of my riii
your videos are amazing no matter what camera you use
this video convinced me to buy the A7rii.... well done
So clean and gorgeous.
I'm mostly impressed by this anamorphic look!
This is very beautifully done
Congrats, mate! These low light images were the best a Saw till now on TH-cam. How did you get them using such a small aperture??? Nice job!!!
It has a film feel - Nice work!
Damn dude great job! So nice color grading wow absolutly amazing! This camera is a beast in photo as in video 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Bro it's an awesome work!
Nice.
I especially love 0:32, lovely composition.
夏で東京にいることを感じさせる撮影ですね。凄い!
I badly love this color grading 😍👌🏼
Beautifully done, on all accounts!
Ah, the things I'll never see in my life....💔. Excellent video.
crazy good low light performance
Beautifully made! The low light is amazing!
What ISO did you shoot?
nice work
So amazing 😉 very nice 👍🏼
Lens flares on this is sweet!
So clear and so sharp, no noise at all ! Wow !!
The camera is groundbreaking no doubt about that but you can definitely see the skills and talent of the person who shot this. Truly impressive !
I have a question please, those wide angle shots I'm assuming you used the Sony 16-35mmf4, I noticed that star effect on the lamps, did you shoot above f11 to get that effect ? And if yes how did you manage to get such good low light performance without showing noise ? Thank you and again congratulations for the outstanding footage !
very nice,i like this video~
Nicely done.
wow, wonderful!
10/10 Would cry again.
really awesome
Amazing!
because of you i think about buying one...
good performance!
Getting Blade Runner vibes from this! Wow, so beautiful :)
Hi,
Firstly this is the wonderful video with awesome shots, cool colour grade and pleasant music.
May I know the lense used for making this video?
Color grading is just ughh too good b
Beautiful results, but remember this has been colour corrected by an expert.
brilliant
One day I will own a camera like dis🚀🙌🏼
awesome, well i know japan is busy and tight country. but in here japan are calm and peaceful. thanks to watching another part of japan :)
nice video, i have the same camera and also make videos with it. I have a question, what PLog settings do you use while shooting? Also do you shoot with neutral color and then after use different color gradings?
this is sooooo much better than a7 video quality ; __ ; i want it
クリーンな動画で感動です!ノイズ処理ってどうされてるんですか?
so good
Amazing job. Pro level. What lens did you use the most?
Extra ! I like this camera :)
The roads are so clean. Cleaner than my country Thailand.
Hey man can you please tell us is the SLR magic adapter works with auto focus lens or do you still have to pull focus twice even if the talking lens is AF
Didn't notice it much in your video, but what's the moire like with this or any of the other current sony dslrs? Especially with handheld stuff..
Thanks!
I can't decide between A7R2 and A7S2. I would do mainly photography (astrophotography mainly) so the R would be the best one but I want to do also videos, like travel videos etc... The S is superior for videos but the 12mp sensor is limited for the photography I want to do. Videos would be a smaller part for me but I would still love to make 4k quality videos. What would you advice? Is the R version better suited for Photography and some video or the S?
Don't know how much color grading you did. It's a light hand if anything. I like that it's still flat enough to see the dynamic range. This just might be the tipping point for me. Surely, I can't upgrade to the Canon 5D mkIV, what with the lack of a compression scheme that results in a video file size 9x other comparable cameras
This is awesome... I almost felt like i was "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo"
amazing
nice coloring...
That is bloody good work right there, good colour information out of this camera it seems, did you have any overheating issue when filming?
Is there anyone who can share his experience filming with an Sony A7R? There are not many to none test video's with that camera and i'd like to know its filming performance compared to the mark ii.
Great!
@darwinfish105 Hi there - excellent footage! I had a question about the 16-35 lens. I'm shopping for 16-35mm and 24-70mm lenses for my a7R II in preparation for a documentary I will be shooting later this year. In your opinion, do you think the 16-35mm F4 ZA OSS is good enough for video or do you think it's worth getting the 16-35mm F2.8 G Master at this point? Is the G Master worth the price or should I just get the Zeiss zoom lens? Thanks ahead for your reply. Cheers.
This came out beautiful what are your settings?
Which picture profile did you choose to shot this video? s-log 2 or the cine2?
Hello! what settings do you recommend for video shooting with this camera? mainly during the day, with good lighting (video shooting of tractors, etc.), you also need to shoot people and interview them. this is the first time I have encountered a camera from Sony, so I will be very grateful to you!
Nice!
分シーン0:53でどんなレンズを使ったの?
How does this match up versus the A6300?
I am considering getting this as my first camera. I would like to know if it is difficult to achieve getting footage that looks this good (as a beginner). I've never color corrected it done any post production stuff. Thanks
See the video description below. I am writing what I do.
th-cam.com/video/WmE0uYwaGT0/w-d-xo.html
thanks for the video it's really awesome,
are you using some coloration or this is just by default
Thanks
any way you can transfer me the lut file, vision colors website is down!?
why am i having terrible grain on my sony a7r ii? do you have any suggestion?
Wow! This is beautiful :-)
So continuing my last question: If you choose the GH4 for resolution and the A7s for low-light, this has got to be the ultimate camera, right?
hey quick question love this video, watched it atleast 20 times, I recently bought an a7rii its my first camera, how did u record this in 4k and how did u upload to youtube in 4k? thanks in advance!
4K 24p,Picture Profile:PP7(S-log2),White Balance:Auto,Shutter Speed:1/50,F number and ISO adjust according to the surrounding brightness with over exposured from +1.0 to +2.0.
Of course use a variable ND filter during the day.
Export H.264 mp4,target bitrate 96Mbps.
You made an absolute gem. Excellent, no less than an actual movie. Plz,i want to know if it is the stock footage? Or what color gradings and editing did u do
+MR. COMMENTOR
no stock footage.
I use VisionColor(www.vision-color.com/) LUTs and Lumetri color in Adobe Premiere Pro.
0.preparing... start Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015. put clip in time line.
1.create adjustment layer and put above the clip.
2.add Lumetri color in adjustment layer.
3.select LUT in Lumetri color.
Recently, I have been using VisionColor ImpulZ(vision-color.com/impulz/) Kodak Vis3 50D 5203 (DP)_FPE.
4.add Lumetri color in the clip.
5.change parameters as follows(example for night footage).
contrast:-25,high light:-50,shadow:+50,white:+35,black:-25
reduce red in RGB curve
6.adjust brightness with exposure parameter in each clip.
do you like this camera look or gh4 better
Very nice image and edit, i have a couple questions.. were u shooting in s35 mode? Also what iso range were u using? Thanks!
Hi, were you able to mount the anamorphic adapter to the fe 16-35? Im curious as the specs have the adapter at 62mm and the lens (16-35) has a 72mm thread.
+Kaizen2013v I do not use Anamorphot with 16-35mm.
1.Anamorphot can not use with wide angle lens.
Suggested taking lens based on sensor size:
35-85mm focal length can be used for S35 and APS-C sensor.
40-85mm focal length can be used for Full Frame sensor.
2.need 72mm-62mm step down ring.
Gorgeous video! Especially at night! What ISO was used in the night shots taken in the alley? ie: 0:22 to 0:30 ; also 0:53 to 0:59
+joe votta i don't remember.
Probably range from ISO1600 of ISO3200.
ISO6400 more than noise is noticeable.
I'm more impressed....
Wow awesome piece of work! Do you have link of the SLR Magic Anamorphic lens? Do you have to manual focus
wit the Anamorphic lens? If so, it might be hard to focus on subjects moving towards you.
I'm on the fence of getting this camera!
+waipahutube It is difficult under 1-2m. need to turn two focus ring of Anamorphot and lens.
Very impressive! I'm an owner of A7rii as well. How did you get noise-free image from high ISO(like 6400)? Mine gets very noisy already when set to 2000.
Most scenes are ISO 1600 or less.
When shooting in the s-log2 is to +1 or more overexposures.

A quick ask...I'm recently seeking the best way to film something at night, low light condition in the city. And the choice of equipment is just driving me crazy...wondering about your set up, looks so awesome!! I have my Sony A7r ii with Sony lens but filming at night just brings a lot of granules, wondering if I change to the lens you use, Zeiss Loxia, will that solve the problem? To have a clean night view film, or at least clean as yours! Or is there something extra equipments that need to be added?
your f /iso is the factor here for ex. if you use the kit with the variable aperture its normal to have more noise, his Loxia has f/2 , another factor is the super 35/apsc mode that has better low light performance with noise than full frame
Would you get the a7sii over the a7rii for video? I really doubt I'll use the camera in such low light as to choose the a7s over the a7r... The megapixels is such a big plus for the a7r in my opinion - for printing large photos... in your experience with the a7rii, is it good enough for low light?
beautiful! is this camera way better than one of those Canon t5ii? I majored in broadcast communications, but I'm currently working in a nonmedia related job and I don't want to lose my skills(it has been awhile since I've touched a camera). I am used to being more in a studio setting, so I sincerely don't know which dslr to get. I don't want to buy anything crazy expensive, but I want something good & compact enough to keep my skills in tact. I'm interested in landscape/portrait photography and documentaries. Any help is appreciated.
+Ka Gala Definitely better than Canon t5i, please buy without hesitation.
Wow! This looks really good!
I'm thinking about buying the a7r II
What lens would you recommend as a good starter lens for this camera?
I'm often filming inside bunkers and other abandoned places.
Also nature and landscape.
I would really appreciate your answer!
+batbatbox loxia 50mm or SONY FE55mm.
I think 50mm is basic focal length for video.
+Utuubie Please select the optimum focal length of the lens to your subject and the distance.
www.paulcoatesphoto.com/2013/06/which-lens-35mm-or-50mm.html
Same guy did a test of a6300, that video made me buy a6300 and now this video will make me buy a7rii... I hate this guy!
@@clamik01 I have bought a7riii because of this guy! It looked so outstanding! And i've made no mistake. Now I have 10 lenses for it))))
hi there good evening, enjoyed the video as usual.
Just to ask, did u turn off the ibis while the camera was the tripod?
Thanks in advance.
did you find vignetting with the 16-35 or any focus issues? or mostly use the 50? looks super rad
0:55 what lens was that shot on? The Sony lens or Zeiss?
Yo. Amazing video. Did u record in ProRes422? With external device. I'm trying my best, but standard slog2 + grading is getting me nowhere close to that.
any picture profile? and 4k or 1080p? Great video by the way. i can never get my lowlight footage to look great.
Hi Fish, was this filmed in full frame or super 38? and was it in 4k mode?
Thanks.
Wonderful wonderful looks btw
What lense are you using for this?
I love the video mate, how do you get the anamorphic look? slr anamorphic is any good? most of the videos I saw really sucked, too much distortion but this one is spot on
+Joao Fezas Vital Some barrel distortion occurs.
Shooting of Yokohama Chinatown (dark street where there is a red and yellow signs) are not using Anamorphot.
Absolutely gorgeous. Finally, someone on TH-cam who actually knows how to use the damn thing.
agreed 100%
Agree
Haha true!
+1
couldn't agree more
