Loved this interview. You asked questions that no other interview had asked of them! I LOVE this couple together. In seasons 6, 7 and most of 8, you knew they were setting this couple up to be together but the jarring switch to Lucas last minute to hopefully secure some extra seasons, REALLY split the fanbase. Up until this point, no one thought of this show as being a soap show....so fans were EXTREMELY upset with how the switch was handled. Once they were with Lucas, they tried to make that decision stick by "sanitizing" (writer Elizabeth Stewarts description of what took place in s9) the Lucas character to make him suitable character for Elizabeth. While some fans always believed the Lucas character was flawless and perfect for Elizabeth, those who followed the Christian fiction books upon which this series was based KNEW the real Elizabeth needed to be with the impeccable mountie. It was a huge risk for HM to change the story back in its original direction, but I think it was the best decision to keep this story lasting for more seasons! So many people are coming back to the show that left after s8! Kevin and Elizabeth have amazing chemistry together and an incredible acting range! They truly are acting equals and their ease together is felt and seen anytime they are together. They interview very well! I hope the show stays away from the soap formula in storytelling moving forward! The fans have been through SO much watching this show and they need some easy seasons moving forward in order to allow them to heal.
I agree 💯 with all you said. Elizabeth and Nathan belong together. Always have. And once Lucas finds HIS true love, his fan base will feel happy again. Hopefully, that happens in season 12.

Absolutely spot on!!! You nailed what a lot of us felt and would have liked to tell the writers and producers. I would like to splice S7 to about the last three episodes of S10 and all of S11 together. Cut out S8,9 and most of 10. You are correct, I felt that the entire feeling of the show shifted to be so out of character from what we've seen all along. S11 gets back to that original feeling. So much better, so appreciated. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, to give others the opportunities to voice theirs.
I think it will be somewhat soap opera style with the drama that comes out about Lucas' past with Jeanette. You know that Rosemary & Randall + other reporters will find out more about Lucas' mysterious past with Jeanette. They will dig & we will get the truth! But I do think E changed L even though he wasn't honest & great and have honerable intentions in the beginning in S6 & S7 when L moved to HV in S6. Bill & Nathan had been right about Lucas' being mysterious, hiding his past, and not being truthful. But I do think maybe overtime by S9 Lucas did fall for Elizabeth & he did love her, but he knew she had been in love with Nathan, but just afraid so Lucas was settling for a safe relationship, a safe love & then Elizabeth broke up with Lucas saying she wanted to live in HV, but Lucas knew the truth. Elizabeth was still in love with Nathan. I think Lucas will get a redemption storyline because of his past, but he wants to be a good honest man now like he told Jeanette he isn't the same man anymore. So, then Lucas will remain governor & be a successful governor. I think Soap Valley love triangle between Lucas, Nathan, & Elizabeth is over. The character Jack is dead & not coming back either. So Nathan & Elizabeth will be a couple. I think eventually Lucas will meet a new woman in CC a sassy, sexy woman from the city. Nathan & Elizabeth will eventually marry & we will see blended family storylines.

Best series ever! Incredible writing! Amazing production! Wonderful cast! Rarely does a storyline give rise to so much cheering and bring on the tears so much. Although the finale was perfect in so many ways, it was also bittersweet because now we Hearties need to wait until 2025 for Season 12. Personally I hope I am still around for Season 20. As for the speculation about the cliff hanger, now that the whole "who shot Lucas" is pretty well played out, maybe the reason the sergeant wanted to talk to Elizabeth was because Jack was murdered?
I was thinking the same thing about Jack.
I think Hargraves or other mounties were dirty cops. Nathan while he was there in Fort Clay started investigating. Hargraves found out & was either dirty himself or didn't agree with Nathan about the other mounties being dirty cops. Nathan didn't follow his supervisor Hargraves order probably because it wasn't honerable. So, this was the reason Nathan got transferred to Fort Simpson. (Remember Allie told Elizabeth about living in Fort Simpson & the boring Christmas with a bunch of mounties in the Christmas movie after S7.) Then after Jack Thornton died, Nathan felt guilty Jack had been posted at Fort Clay & died in an accident. So, he asked mountie headquarters if he could be transferred to Hope Valley to look after Elizabeth & her son & protect them. So, Nathan & Allie came to Hope Valley to live & Nathan work as the new mountie in HV.
I think Jack discovered that they had dirty mounties in Fort Clay & was trying to collect the evidence & found it, but the dirty cops discovered this. Then they took care of the problem. So Jack was killed by dirty cops. He didn't die in an accident. The dirty cops came up with that story to cover up what they did. So, what Elizabeth was told that it was an accident was a lie. The dirty cops were trying to cover their tracks so this is what they told the higher up good mounties & Elizabeth. Elizabeth never met the men Jack supposedly saved. Just saying! So, I think this is very possible!
I love Lee and rose mary and Lucus is a great governor hope these people stay in it the show this cast of people have been GREAT .I LOVE HOW THE PASTOR AND HIS WIFE ARE SO HUMBLE PEOPLE..Who ever picked these people out sure did great with that.PLEASE dont change things now keep it going!!!!!
I'm actually hoping WCTH S12 is a transition season Lindsay did say they are building a CC set in an interview.
Then we get a WCTH spin off show with Lucas, Henry, & Lee. Governor Bouchard did ask Lee to work for him on WCTH S11, episode 12. Just saying so I can see Henry and Lee working for Governor Bouchard in CC. Then Rosemary & Goldie move to CC with Lee. Rosemary work for the newspaper in CC.
Then Lucas, Henry, Lee +Rosemary can still visit HV sometimes. Plus we get more characters/cast for a CC community. Then Lucas gets a new sassy girlfriend from the city. 😊 ❤

I love Nathan and Elizabeth's romance and deep true love! Nathan is Elizabeth's second great love! The kisses were beautiful Hallmarky style kisses for Nathan and Elizabeth not the lustful kisses JT scripted with Elizabeth and Lucas. That kissing sh*t between Lucas and Elizabeth
belonged on a lifetime network crazy movie where the man the woman is in love with turns out to be a crazy controlling narcissistic personality with a mysterious past he had hidden and is a bad guy. Oh wait what did LS S10 & S11 and AM as showrunner S6 & S7 and AM as consultant in S10 & S11 write in those seasons???!!!!! Lucas had a past he was hiding in S6 & S7. JT ignored Lucas past in S8 & S9. LS + AM just brought Lucas mysterious
past back in S10 & S11. 😂 Great job LS + AM Chris as the mystery Lucas is much more interesting! 😄 You all knew you had to bring back Lucas' hiding his past & it getting exposed! Both mounties retired mountie Bill didn't trust Lucas and was suspicious of Lucas all before Constable Nathan Grant came to HV. Then Nathan had his suspicions about Lucas too. #MountieInstincts We still don't know it could have gotten dangerous if Elizabeth had married Lucas for Elizabeth and Jack Jr. as Elizabeth didn't really know Lucas. Good thing Elizabeth broke up with Lucas and finally admitted to Nathan she was in love with him!

I could have seen Lindsay turning Elizabeth & Lucas' safe relationship into an unsafe tragic relationship had Elizabeth married Lucas and become a governor's wife. 😂 only way I would have believed in that storyline was for Hallmark to go all Lifetime tragic story of a false love a man who didn't really love that woman with Elizabeth and Lucas. 😂

I wonder will Lucas does get a redemption story and maybe Lucas was changed and that wasn't just a line to use on Jeanette. But really with Lucas' govership you can take his storyline so many ways. Lucas can be get a redemption story & be good. Lucas can be bad or Lucas can be somewhere between good and bad keeping #hearties guessing Lucas' character traits Afterall, politicians can be bought by lobbyists for a price if they are in the between good or bad or completely a bad person. This makes me excited to see the character, Lucas in S12. 😂

No, she doesn't know who she wants and plays men against each other. Actually writers are being so unrealistic when these men agree to wait for her when they know others are on the picture. This just doesn't happen in real life. The other thing is it was very unfair to Daniel Lissing to kill him and now, he will be eliminated from any other spin offs. He is an excellent actor and was so cute with the way he treated her. His smile is beautiful. He should have been treated better. He actually was one of the best actors on the series. I love Nathan and can't believe he waited so long for her.
True love is unconditional & steadfast. Nathan would have still loved Elizabeth even if she had chosen a safe love with Lucas. He would have been respectful of Elizabeth being there for her loved & protected her even though he would have only been able to have a friendship love for Elizabeth if she had chosen to marry Lucas. Nathan still would have had a true love for Elizabeth. When you truly love someone you want their happiness above all else. Elizabeth's love for Lucas was a safe love. It was a conditional love in the end he didn't meet the conditions. Elizabeth wanted her life in HV & didn't want to be a governors wife. She also wanted to raise her son in HV where she had met her late husband, Jack. Elizabeth wanted Jack Jr. to live around the community that knew Jack & would help her keep memories alive of Jack for Jack Jr. to learn about his birth father especially men like Bill because Bill told Elizabeth that he thought of Jack as a son when they were grieving Jack's death in S5. So, Bill thinks of Elizabeth like a daughter-in-law & Jack Jr. like a grandson. Elizabeth I think looks up to Bill like a father-in-law. I noticed Bill never encouraged Elizabeth in her relationship with Lucas. I think he was concerned about that relationship. Bill did think Lucas was mysterious when he came to HV. I'm not sure he ever fully trusted Lucas. I bet Bill was thankful to God & happy Elizabeth broke up with Lucas. I did notice in S7 Bill was there for Nathan though when Elizabeth went out of town with Lucas & Nathan was upset Bill was a good friend to Nathan. I think Bill knew then that Nathan was in love with Elizabeth. I also noticed Bill seemed to realize that Elizabeth was in love with Nathan, but afraid of a relationship with Nathan because if her history losing Jack. I noticed Bill did encourage Nathan to pursue a relationship with Elizabeth a few times throught the series since S6-S11, but definitely he encouraged Nathan at least twice in S11 to pursue a romantic relationship with Elizabeth because Bill knew that Nathan was in love with Elizabeth. Also, Bill knew Elizabeth was in love with Nathan. Bill told Jack Jr. and Elizabeth maybe we can get mountie Nathan to help out with Pal the pony. 😊❤❤❤ Bill knew what was up! He was playing match maker in S11! 😂
Hallmark executives & the WCTH co-creators treated Daniel Lissing fine. He wanted off the show after S5. He wanted to pursue other opportunities as an actor. Yes, it wouldn't make sense for Jack to be gone for 5 seasons & come back alive! 😆 Talk about ridiculous! 🙄
Yes Dan wanted to leave so WCTH did the right thing to say the character Jack died in S5. Now Daniel Lissing is doing a Christmas movie with Erin Krakow in December 2024 for Hallmark.
I think Kevin McGarry is a very talented actor. I love Nathan Grant too in S6-S11. I loved Jack in S1-S5, but Jack is Elizabeth's past her 1st great love! Nathan is Elizabeth's 2nd great love! Nathan will hopefully be Elizabeth's lifetime love! ❤😊
I'm sure Lucas will end up being a successful governor. He will create a new life in CC. I bet Henry will work for governor Bouchard. I wonder will Lee will work for Lucas? Lucas did ask him. Again I loved Erin Krakow, Kevin McGarry, Chris McNally as actors in S6-S11 and I loved Daniel Lissing and Erin Krakow in S1-S5. I can't wait to see Elizabeth and Nathan as a couple in S12. I also can't wait to see Lucas as governor in CC! I actually hoping S12 WCTH is a transition season. We see storylines from HV and storylines from CC. Then they have WCTH S13 with Elizabeth & Nathan's storylines and all of the HV community. Then we have a WCTH spin off series with Lucas' new life in CC as governor. All his old friends like maybe Henry who is working for Lucas. Possibly Lee too. Then new friends. New characters for CC. Eventually Lucas gets a new girlfriend in CC. A city girl who enjoys Lucas' grand gestures. ❤
Daniel himself has repeatedly said how great Hallmark has been to him over the years. He agreed killing Jack off was the right thing to do because Jack would never have willingly left Elizabeth for any reason. He has supported the seasons that came out after he left and worked with Hallmark on other projects. Any bad blood you perceive between them is purely imaginative.
@@Book_Dragon2562 yes, Daniel Lissing & Erin Krakow have a Christmas Movie 🎄 🎅 coming out in Dec 2024. So, Dan still has a great relationship with Hallmark. Who knows just because Elizabeth looks like will be in a courtship with Nathan, marry him, & have blended family storylines. Dan may come back in a guest role with Elizabeth having a memory of him on what would be their wedding anniversary or his birthday in the future or a dream. Something that would make sense, but Dan didn't want to be full-time on WCTH & Hallmark respects his decision so does WCTH team. But a guest appearance in a future S13 or S14 could be possible. Just not alive Jack is dead. But Brian confirmed Jack is dead & Dan is not coming back (for season 12) in his interview.

Kevin McGarry is engaged to Kayla Wallace (Fiona on #WCTH) Kevin and Erin are only friends. 😆 It's not unusual to not be so close to your friend as he is not in a relationship with Erin! Some people mix acting fictional TV couples with real life. Kevin's real life relationship is Kayla. They are a real life couple! I think they are getting married soon or at least that's the rumors. 💕 💍 💒 💘 Also, Erin Krakow and Ben Rosenbaum (Mike Hickam on #WCTH) are in a relationship. They are a real life couple too! 💕

I'm over all of this after the way the show did Lucas's character. AND Nathen's character deserves better as well.
Lucas always had a mysterious past he was hiding since S6! Bill was suspicious and found Lucas was mysterious, hiding things, and a possible criminal.
Lucas was mysterious hiding things and not honest with Nathan when Constable Grant was asking him questions about Jeanette. The widowed Jeanette was a criminal! I won't be surprised if we find out later after some more investigation from mountie headquarters about the Jeanette case that she killed her husband! 😂 Hey every criminal commits their first illegal act Then criminals usually commit more crimes.
It's still possible she worked in the treasurey department until she got caught for her illegal crimes in S11 as a cover so people thought Jeanette was honest! Also, can't wait to see what reporters like Randall & Rosemary wrote about Lucas' past in S12. Lucas did say he is a changed man now. He wants to be a good man now. He isn't the man Jeanette knew before. So, that shows Lucas definitely had a shady past. I've liked Chris' character Lucas as the mysterious man in S6, S7 (JT dropped in S8, S9-but i knew would come back) then the mysterious past caught up with Lucas at the end of S10 and all S11.

I think Lucas will get a redemption story as he has changed from his ways & Lucas wants to be a good man now as Elizabeth & HV changed Lucas even though his relationship didn't work out as Elizabeth wanted to live in HV and was in love with Nathan.
In real life no one is perfect except God. I like flawed characters that change. Elizabeth admit the truth to Nathan that she hurt him because of fear. Nathan getting upset with Elizabeth in S8 out of frustration when he knew she loved him, but she kept denying it because she was afraid. Then she hurt him by lying to him and denying her true feelings. Then she got into a safe relationship or what she thought was safe, but Elizabeth didn't really know Lucas as he hid his past from her. Then I love the idea that Lucas was changed by getting to know Elizabeth all these years and E & HV changed Lucas. Then Lucas gets a redemption story. Then he becomes a successful governor. Then gets a sassy, beautiful city woman in CC.
Again I love Kevin/Nathan, Lucas/Chris, and Erin/Elizabeth! I'm actually hoping WCTH S12 is a transition season with both N&E's stories in HV. Lucas' story in CC. Maybe Henry & Lee working for Governor Bouchard + New CC community.
Then we get a WCTH spin off show WCTH:CC S1 with Lucas maybe Henry & Lee and a WCTH: S13 with N& E. Their kids A & J Jr and HV community.
Darn, they had to practice that kiss to make sure it was right!! Ha! Bring Cody along with Abigail!!
WCTH is notoriously slow in storylines when relationships are involved.

They keep saying 'the fans' & what they're really saying is that they wanted to make Nathan fans happy. 😮 They give NO consideration to the disappointment of Lucas fans because they believe the breakup of Elizabeth & Lucas was respectful. What??? The relationship between Elizabeth & Lucas was undeniably beautiful & they act like it never happened..... too unbelievable the way it was done...LOVE doesn't just stop. Done with this show! Not enough of good storylines to enjoy.
Bring back Paul Greene?Pastor Hogan having a different job get attatched to Abigail? NATHAN & Elizabeth marry have kids live on a farm she's still the teacher, he does part time mountie& Farm or work for Lee as a Excellant carpentar much needed for the main parts to enlarge the school . Add a second female teacher that Elizabeth gets along with that's older that Henry could be interested in. Keep the show in tge late 1800's early 1900-1904. Keep it pioneer type . Please... Keep Nathan & Elizabeth together , future marriage and kids and Rosemary& Lee one more child too. Great job so far. Add more episodes to a season please!!

I know #wcth did it for Faith in the past hiding Andrea's pregnancy, but she wasn't a lead character & so Faith's pregnancy could be hidden easier than it would be for Erin as Elizabeth all season long!

Was Elizabeth supposed to give up her lifestyle that she had chosen for herself to go to CC with Lucas & just be a governor's wife?! 😂 To get all dolled up for events with people in high society to impress them and make Governor Lucas look good. 😂 The answer is No! Elizabeth had that wealthy high society lifestyle back in Hamilton with her wealthy parents as a child/teenager. Elizabeth chose to go to college as a young adult & became a teacher leaving that type of lifestyle behind when she moved to Coal Valley. No Elizabeth didn't want to give up teaching in HV to become a governor's wife fitting back into high society. No Elizabeth is a country woman now teaching school in a one room school house in HV. Also, Elizabeth wants to raise Jack Jr. in HV. So yeah Elizabeth's love was a safe love for Lucas not a true love because a true love is unconditional. Lucas was a safe, comfortable, & uncomplicated relationship. There was conditions to Elizabeth's love with Lucas. When it looked like Lucas might win the governorship the conditions were broken as Elizabeth's safe relationship became unsafe. Now for a great love, a true love you figure things out & make your relationship work. I believe even if Nathan were to get posted in another town, Elizabeth would follow Nathan there & find a teaching job in another town & she would be okay raising J Jr in another town as long as she was with her great love. The man Elizabeth is truly in love with Nathan Grant! Jack was Elizabeth's first great love unfortunately he died. Now Nathan is Elizabeth's second great love & hopefully lifetime love.
I do look forward to seeing Chris' story as Lucas Bouchard in CC. I think Governor Bouchard will end up a good governor. I'm sure he will end up meeting a new woman in CC, a new girlfriend eventually.

Sorry, but Nathan is a nice guy but these two just don’t go together… it was silly to me and the chemistry isn’t there either. When she hooked up with Lucas, that scene was undeniably the best ever when she decided she wanted Lucas and technically her kiss with Lucas was more powerful. I was really disappointed with this season and the story lines were just blasé. They seem to want to expand into more avenues of developments for the community which is ok,,,but I hope it doesn’t take away from the quant atmosphere of the town and what it stands for. I believe they should bring back Lori Laughlin also. Taking her off the program for so long is way over do. Bring back some old charm. With that being said, it’s also irritating to see these actors move on to different romance programs ( call me old fashioned) with different characters way before the season has ended. But I guess that’s part of their job to keep working. And if I might add. Kevin is engaged to Leona in real life!! How can you get around that? Of course it’s all acting but it still takes away from escaping into this theater of the mind to captivate your interest. Personally, I don’t know how they do it, but then, maybe I am just to down to earth to keep pretending. ??
I 100% agree with you! If they really paid attention, Elizabeth & Lucas had playful body language when they first met while Elizabeth seemed frustrated & irritated when Nathan kept asking her to dinner. And there's a HUGE difference when Elizabeth & Lucas look at each other & the way they kiss compared to Elizabeth & Nathan. Then there was the silly scene with Nathan shirtless....it did not have the same effect on Elizabeth as when she was comforting Lucas in his office or two separate scenes she had with Lucas in the Library or especially how she almost loses her balance when Lucas kisses her (she has that 'Zing')! No, Elizabeth & Nathan have NO chemistry. And Elizabeth looked & sounded ridiculous when she told Rosemary, 'Is it wrong to want to find Love' right after her breakup with Lucas! But then that dialogue wasn't any worse than the LAME dialogue given for the reason Elizabeth was calling off the engagement. It's so sad that I can no longer enjoy watching a show I LOVED for 9 years not only because the breakup was very disrespectful to many fans, but mostly because they've changed Elizabeth's character to be unlikable, immature & no longer holds good morals. Plus, how rude is it that nothing is being said about Little Jack not seeing or caring about his 'Buddy'? Just another disrespectful kick in the gut!

@@normasmither202 Sorry, but still disagree. What is hard to get past, besides their kissing scenes being 'blah', is their dialogue. Elizabeth saying, 'Is it wrong to want to find LOVE again' after only being a short time of breaking her much wanted engagement or telling Nathan what she loves about him is his HONESTY!! Has she forgotten about his deception about Fort Clay? Anyway, I just can't see them as a romantic couple.
Lucas fans were robbed. The showrunner should be fired and I will never ever ever support anything that Erin or Kevin are in, I am so disgusted with WCTH.

Why will you not watch Kevin movies or other shows? Kevin is an actor not a decision maker. This was Hallmark executives & the co-creators decision. I don't even believe Elizabeth breaking up with Lucas & Elizabeth getting in a relationship with Nathan was the showrunner Lindsay's decision. Lindsay as showrunner was hired by Hallmark execs & WCTH co-creators to do the job as an emoyee by her employer (Hallmark) It was the higher ups decision not Lindsay in my opinion because of the poor demo numbers in S9. That's why we got Lindsay & consultant Alfonso on this show instead of the former showrunner of S8 & S9. But they gave Lindsay & Alfonso creative license in how the break up happened for Elizabeth & Lucas. Then Nathan & Elizabeth being a romantic couple.
I can see you not watching wcth if you are upset with Hallmark execs and WCTH co-creators, but it wasn't Kevin's decision to get Nathan and Elizabeth together in a romantic relationship. That was Hallmark executives and WCTH co-creators. That's how I feel and I like all actors/characters so I'm not being biased to team Nathan or team Lucas. I truly know this wasn't Kevin's decision so there is no need to take it out on the actor! He is a great actor & his movies are awesome! So, is "Heartland." I like & watch Chris movies too so again not being biased.
I can see maybe not watching Erin if you felt she had some part in the decision as a producer or whatever, but really I don't think this was Erin's decision either. I think it was the new CEO Hallmark execs & WCTH co-creators still.
I had wished for Elizabeth and Lucas to be married. Jack loved him so much.
So did I but the rewrite messed that up.
If Lucas gets a redemption story & becomes friends with Elizabeth & Nathan eventually than Lucas can remain Jack Jr.'s "buddy" even if Elizabeth & Nathan marry and Nathan becomes Jack Jr.'s adoptive father, Nathan becoming Jack Jr.'s adoptive "dad"
