I have just started a new Haed called The Sad Fairy. The Stitchy Witch is working on this, and I fell in love with it. They had a sale at heaven and earth designs, so I bought this and several others.
The sales are dangerous hahah, I almost got a couple of patterns myself. That is a beautiful pice! I saw it on The Stitchy Witch as well, can't remember if it was a WIP parade or another of her videos. Happy Stitching!
Books to read, Jean Auel's Earth Children series is a good story.. though the last book felt forced and full of personal issues. Author C Clark, childhoods end is a thought provoking novel. I crocheted while listening and watching. Somebody else said in the last video you have a perfect mix of talk and stitching sounds and I agree
Hi Vera! Answering your question as to what I am working on, today I switched back from one of my 4 HAEDs To Sanctuary of Knowledge, reg size, reg colours. I started in the top left corner in January 2019 - my first full coverage. I am stitching pages left to right. I am just starting page 31. I am not using pattern keeper - just the paper chart & am just over 50% done. I am doing this one on 25 ct easy guide 1x1. My other 3 HAEDs I am doing on 28 ct. I like the coverage better for the dark stitches. My last HAED that I started I decided to try 2 over 1 tent or 1/2 stitches & I am really liking it! It does go faster & with a small count you really can’t tell that they are 1/2 stitches.
I started out stitching my full coverage pieces on 16 and 18 count. And then I dared myself to try 25 count. I didn’t like it at first, but the more I stitched on it, the more used to it I got. So I’ve not gone back since. It’s my favorite. I’m stitching an Artecy cross stitch pattern by Leonid Afremov called Guitar and Soul 2. It’s fun! I have 12 full coverage pieces I work on. On most I stitch 1,000 stitches when it comes up on my rotation. On others that I want to get done sooner I stitch 2,000 stitches when they come up on rotation.
I'm very curious to try out smaller counts sometimes soon, just need to get enough with my current WIPs to justify starting another full coverage hahaha. This sounds like a beautiful piece. I will absolutely check it out, Thank you! WOW! 12 full coverages! Happy stitching!
My favorite sweet spot is 18 count for almost everything. I can see the holes and projects look great. I dont make myself frustrated with higher counts. Also, if you havent read the Outlander series its fantastic.
I have watched 4 seasons of the Outlander, and have the first book on my TBR shelf :) What a story! I enjoy the 18 ct. too. I also like stitching on 36 ct. linen, the stitches turn out very smooth. Happy stitching!
Hi. Enjoyed listening to you this morning whilst I stitch and I'm also interested in a future video about your set up etc. Great to hear that you like historical fiction, it's a fairly niche market. I know it sounds like a shameless plug but not intended as such, if you fancy you may enjoy one of my own publications, I recommend The Last Gift (by Carla Acheson) set in late 19c, which got some excellent reviews.
Thank you very much! I remember in one of your recent videos you mentioned you are writer, that is so interesting! I will absolutely check it out, thank you for the suggestion. Happy stitching!
@@verasstitchingcorner the pattern is easy to follow, but it is a paper pattern, the only hard part is all the different threads in some of the patterns, and beads, it's my first mirabillia, and it's going fine, it's on 32count, evenweave, but you can do it on 16 count Aida I have seen, fun with cross stitch (it's her TH-cam channel) do it, she has done a couple of Fancy Ladies on Aida and they look stunning 🥰

I like 25ct. I also am really enjoying 22ct!
I'm looking forwards to trying a 25 count fabric. Been hearing lots of recommendations for it. Happy stitching!

I also tried doing tent stitch for a project, and realized how much more I can stitch in a day just because it is faster. Happy stitching!

I'm stitching on a fancy Lady by mirabillia it's Tatiana ❤️
I would be very curious to start a mirabillia at some point, haven't done a pattern by them before

How are you ending your threads?
I'm doing something called a pin stitch. Its basically stitching into the middle, between the wholes of the Aida
What frame do you use?
It's an 11x17 q snap resting on a stand. Happy Stitching!
