I have been doing my families genealogy (in real life) since 2005, and trust me, a real life family tree on a legit family tree program is just as messy as that. Once you get into multiple kids and multiple marriages (I have an uncle only 5 months older than me, and my grandfather- oldest cousin- has younger 1st cousins the same age as my father) the family tree becomes a dumpster fire. You just have to work with the way the program works and figure out your own way of organizing it, you will have long lines on some of it no matter what you do.
definitely, family trees can be a mess!! I did mine earlier this year and I totally agree. I just get frustrated with little details like that, but of course some chaos is normal for this haha
I have a suggestion:
Maybe we could make names/outlines colour-coded to see which generation they're in? I feel that adding that should be pretty simple. For example, next to their name, it could be a colour wheel or something where you could choose name colours/lines and save the colour for the others in the generation?
this would be AMAZING!! you should definitely reach out to the devs and give them this suggestion!

This is the perfect sim family to test this out! I see how things can get a bit overwhelming to look at because this is meant to be more of a web than a tree; I do like the fact that you can move it around and change things at any time. Have a Happy Birthday! 🎂
a web is a great way to describe it! I was stubborn and tried to keep the traditional family tree look haha, but it can definitely be neater when cleaned up! and thank you 💕
Yup it looks good , I agree to toggle off where it says relationship as it does look messy.

I like the idea of being able to toggle certain relationship lines on and off... like a filter you can go through and choose which you wish to hide or see =)

Based off of the feedback, we have added this and will be available upon launch!! (you also will be able to hide sims, not just relationships!)

I’m so excited for this because I feel like it’s so perfect for family trees! I feel like family trees are a little chaotic too
it is so perfect for it! and they are for sure, sometimes it's just a lot to handle hahah
The best thing that I liked in the Plum Tree App was when I hove to a child who has a different parent, it grays out the current partner of their father who's not their parent or like the step parent essentially. It also helps that the creator used broken lines to distinguish those born outside
true, that does sound helpful! this app had a lot of updates since I made this video tho, so there's similar stuff that could help you

Thanks so much for this! I appreciate it I had a plum tree but it's shutting down 😭 it's a little frustrating that you have to pay to have more than one tree tho, thats so disappointing because most people have more than one legacy

I was about to try out plum tree too right before I found out they will shut down, so this app showed up at the perfect moment! I think that making multiple accounts should work, since you can login with your email
This whole thing seems pretty cool but I do wish it kept the generations on the same line like a traditional family tree
I think having the grid snap on would help with that

it could help. depends on how you arrange things, but grid snap would at least make it easier to make sure that the same generation is on the same level/position@@AnnieOakleavesAdventures

I love this site, my only suggestion is that maybe we can add the date of birth and date of death for the legacy players?
I feel like that's something that would be great to write in the details section? that gives you so much freedom
How did you get the photos of everyone on the white backgrounds? They look so crisp and clear! I have early access to this and already loving it.
it's a custom cas background, you can download it like any other cc! just remember that you can only have one in your game at a time, since it's an override. here's the plain white that I used for this katverse.com/2018/02/15/white-cas-background/

I started using this for my not so berry challenge
And it’s already a mess by gen 3 lol

When I first saw this, I was so excited! I made an account and placed about 80 sims when the website suddenly crashed. I kept trying to go back on it but it kept crashing. It wouldn’t just crash the website, it crashes the whole browser. I’m also unable to access my family tree. Is there a way to stop it from crashing and access my family tree?

I was using this for a bit, but then I couldn't edit my tree, and I can't save any of the new ones I make.
yeah honestly, I've been having issues as well after this video... I haven't had time yet, but if you reach out to them I'm sure they can help!
EDIT: maybe try again now! everything works alright for me, maybe they had some issues but it seems fixed
I am kinda mad that we need to pay tho. I mean, I know there is a free trial but it’s only for one tree and it can only add up to 300 sims which is not enough for me since my family trees are big, diverse and there are a lot of them. We already pay so much for EA and now we also have to pay for this ? Kinda disappointed but I mean, I can’t blame the developers for wanting to earn money they deserve it. It’s just I can’t afford to pay for anything other than my food and my apartment right now (I even stopped buying the sims 4 packs) so I guess I will have to stick with regular family tree apps.
I understand your frustration but the free version can still help you put a lot together

yes I'm not sure how often is happens, but my main legacy's family tree is extremely broken and has been for a very long time
