Online games seem easier for me excluding the scripting (inevitable), since opponents make mistakes that I know how to exploit. That human element is missing in COM which makes it hard.
Can you share more on the scripting part cause I experience the same things in most of the game. But is it true though, there is element of scripting in this game.
