Let's talk about how crooked Atgames is and their Failures in the Digital Pinball World. Discussing their new line of Lower Cost Pinballs, and how they are trying to fool you.

If Atgames came out with a BBQ, you'd get it home only to find out it runs on natural gas, not propane. Pay the $300 for the hook up. No igniter but a pack of matches. Want an igniter...only $100 add on.

One more time: The 3588 is not 4K 60fps game friendly. Poor choice, but fits their business model to a fault.
I would have been interested if the Zen tables worked, but at this point it's not looking good for the Zen games. They should have converted the lesser 4k into a 1080p that actually ran the Zen games without lag.

Speaking as a guy who owns the 4KP with all the bells and whistles, the fact that AtGames has shown they now have the power to disable physical ports, effects EVERYONE in the community who owns one, discounted version or not. And of course, they've always had this power, many of us just weren't aware until this new cheaper model was announced. And here's the scenario that I dread. Not saying it's going to happen, but this is the can of worms AtGames just opened by showing their ability to disable port functionality through a software update:
Let's say Zen wasn't selling enough software on the 4KP, because of so many using OTG, or the upcoming VPX standalone, and Zen told AtGames, you better disable this functionality, or we'll no longer sell our tables on your system. AtGames could easily lock ports out of all machines with an update, and then make some lame statement like, "You guys want us to keep bringing you Zen titles, don't you? Well, if we don't lock the ports, you won't get anymore. We're doing this for you guys." And if people complained, they could just say, "Hey, you agreed to our terms of service, which clearly states (buried in so much legal speak) you don't own our machine, you just have a license to use it, and we determine how, and how long, you can use it."
AtGames is essentially selling the same hardware with these lower priced machines, with the same ports, but not allowing you to use them out of the box. Case in point, BMW did this kind of thing with their heated seats in some of their cars. You buy the car, and it comes with heated seats, but you can't use them until you pay a subscription, having them unlocked via a software update. Then you have Capcom, who brings out a game called Street Fighter x Tekken, which has all the DLC on the actual disc you bought, you have the items on the physical disc you purchased, but you have to pay Capcom to unlock it.
If AtGames wanted to do this right they shouldn't have F'ed with the physical ports that come on every 4KP. They should've made a discounted 4KP, sub grand, something priced around $899, with no physical HDMI or USB ports on the machine. Then maybe sell HDMI and USB modules that can plug and play, like their VIBS board, so they can physically transform the machine if you want extra features. But they didn't. They put the fear in all of us owners, that at anytime, they can send an update to your 4KP and disable anything they want. And this is why I WILL NEVER buy anything hardware-wise from AtGames again. They have COMPLETELY annihilated any last bit of trust I had with them (which wasn't much). And after knowing about the lag and graphic compromises, I stopped buying table packs. And I want to go OTG, but who knows if/when AtGames will pull the plug on that. Why invest in a decent PC to play games in an optimal way, if the ports on my machine suddenly stop working due to a software update. This is BS! And I wouldn't believe AtGames one bit if they came out with a statement saying they'd never do that. They lied about so many things, including my Namco Blast that shows pictures of arcade roms on the box, but plug it in and it has the NES roms. AtGames can't be trusted.
Thank you again for addressing this topic. I hope this new wrinkle shows helps show how far reaching this seemingly small thing is.

Great comment VGV. Finally had a chance to read it. Atgames is playing both sides of the fence here and trying to spin something in a way that appeases both parties, yet neither party is happy and it’s only affecting overall sales. Nobody is going to buy these things at all, and then nobody makes any money. Good job Atgames.

Yeah, I bought my 4KP as an ultra cheap way to get a ready built, fully plug and play, pinball cabinet that I could to add my own PC to. Absolutely no one else, even to this day, is selling a kit like this at this cheap of a price (even at the $1,500 level). I gave AtGames one more chance to do right by me and they tossed that chance into the garbage. Knowing that AtGames has the ability, at anytime, to disable my machine's HDMI and USB ports, is making me think twice of even investing in a decent PC to play OTG tables on. The low price should've been the HUGE RED FLAG that this might be too good to be true.
I don't know if I'll be able to speak on this topic on an upcoming livestream I'm scheduled on, I want to respect the rules of the guys running the show as I'm their guest, but I won't make up lies for AtGames either. I'll speak well where it's warranted, but that's it. Luckily, I'm not affiliated with any company, though I am friends with Glen from Glen's Retro Show, way before he even started making products :) But happy to say, I never got anything for free, so I'm free to speak my mind on my own channel.

I said it before but it still boggles my mind how they've completely botched the chance to begin a home arcade takeover. Issues and overpriced for the performance of Zen, which is the main reason to upgrade from the hd alp, they still charge for shipping. If they ever get it together and do a actual sale maybe they can get me interested again. Can't wait for the ALU 4k issues and pricing. Wheres that racing cab? 🤔

The atGames is only good for replacing it with a PC and using their product as a rough frame-work. Personally, I live in the world of VPX.
Well said, and only the HD version. If you own a PC, you can build a better cabinet for the cost of the 4k models

There’s some truth in this, but the games are certainly playable and fun! The real truth lies in between what you guys are saying and what Atgames influencers say.
@@steveblersch I can buy that. They always say , when two people tell opposite stories, the truth is usually in the middle. My argument abkut “playable “ is that all “gamers” used to say all those Atgames blasts and knock off retro game consoles were unplayable and garbage, but somehow digital pinball, which is a horrible representation of how digital pinball works and should be, is somehow acceptable. Why is sub par gaming unacceptable for retro games , but fine for pinball ? I don’t get it.
@@therexershow don’t get me wrong, I’m hoping for a fix to the flipper lag issue myself. I’d love to see the graphics improved too, but that’s far less important. Like I said, the truth is in the middle somewhere as the games are still fun.
I know I am not the average pin ball gamer. I'm happy with my 1080p resolution DIY pin table. Nothing fancy. 16GB with GTX 1060 video card under the hood with 3 monitors, main screen is 43". Pinball FX plays nice and smooth. I do run AA. Also Visual Pinball X also plays great. 4K in theory is nice, but I will sacrifice the 4K and keep the smooth game play.
Exactly. At games had to go 4k. The average consumer would not buy an "upgraded" 1080p or even a 2k. They had to go 4k, even if it wasn't the best experience. Monitor refresh rate and response times are key to pinball. Neither are good on the at games products.
Fun as always. The reduced resolution for the "4k" is up there with 1up's blitz and mvc2 online advertising at release. Shady as f*. Reading the FAQ, just WOW! They really are hoping people only look at the price and miss what is missing from the machine. Maybe, and a BIG maybe, you buy the discounted cab and unlock OTG only. In my eyes, the 4k had to do well for at games to survive (obviously it's not) as we know them. They will be back to solely selling Blast plug n play consoles at Walgreens very soon.
1080p is perfectly fine. Put the play functionality first.

AtGames confuses me... so are the Zen tables optimized 8 months since delivery of preorders? Is the ALP 4k running 4k tables or what? I swear they make it so difficult to understand what it is they're selling you.
The zen tables are the same as day 1 release. Shi$$y.
I said this about 6 months ago, unfortunately the hardware is just not good enough, open one up and look and you're see very low cheap hardware..... you really do get what you pay for.
It's amazing these individuals who bought Arcade 1up products and Atgames products for years , and still haven't figure out "you get what your pay for".

The fuzzy tables are due to going 1440p. 1440p is not an accurate geometric fit, hence the fuzzies. 3588 sucks for 4K and still struggles with 1440p.
Well seems like it’s worse than 1440. But any tv or monitor should be able to adjust the pixel ratio accordingly , and any video output card should be able to push the correct resolution ratio. So very weird dropping it would cause that. Even going from 4k to 1080 on a tv , you don’t get blur.
@therexershow 1440p has to be interpolated since not a geometric fit for 4K displays and the 3588 does not have the horse power to do that unless watching a slideshow instead of playing a table 😉 Ironically, 1080p looks sharper on 4K for lower power hardware, since it's a geometric fit with no interpolation hit on the chipset.
@@rushmore3927 I guess I don’t understand 1440p which is quad hd. It’s a 2560x1440 resolution which should fit any 16x9 monitor. No? It’s just a step up from 1920x1080.
@@therexershow I did not either for a while. The 1080p is a base of 4K pixels, but 1440P is not. Added: Base multiple. 1440p is not.

They abandoned us HD owners. Im done, but i will support "buystuff arcades" from canada, they have managed to extend the life of us hd owners by offering a monitor upgrade kit. Now i can get that 120hz pinball experience. Saved me about 1200.00 from buying a 4k unit that the rockwell chip doesnt work well.

These tables are ran in 1080p and upscaled from the start . And now they are ran in 480 like Star Trek. They will never be ran in true 4k, and that’s the beginning and end of the lie therein itself. But your sycophant friends keeps the shill alive with Atgames. Sad group of gamers, that for sure. Hope your VPx build is better , and no more of this 42 FPS that kaotic bpr keeps showing. Atgames might upstage you guys with their update. Run the tables better than your VPx build.

who cares, everyone wants to make money and increase their reach across the web. I personally bought a ALP 4K for 2000.00 and love it. True the Zen Tables have issues but others are working great and at 4K with no lag. I only hear drama here.
@@NathanHarrisononline so you like paying 2000$ to get a product that doesnt work as advertised that you could have got for 500$ in the ALP HD and played the exact same games. To each their own they say. You didn’t buy that machine to play DR suess for $2000 , but hey, I understand the self justification of the purchase.
@@therexershow The issues with Zen tables is the only thing that is not up to standards, and I do not mind at all. because the OTG works wonderfully with my gaming PC, the SSF kit is absolutely awesome. So no I don't mind at all. The quality built cabinet is so much better than cheaper cabinets from others i.e. Arcade1up and I'm not capable of wood working skills to built my own. I looked at other prebuilt arcades and the price started in the +6000.00 I think I got my moneys worth. But hey if you can live with it for 2000.00 dollars that's fine with me. I just have been enjoying it a lot. And I will be testing it with VPX Stand Alone soon and if that goes well I might just remove my gaming computer and sell it to a friend
@@therexershow Very satisfied with my purchase. Hardware is top quality, much more than products such as cheap knockoffs like Arcade1up. SSF Kit is so awesome. I did look into other VP builds but they all start in the +6000.00 dollar range. All other PB Packs such as Zaccaria, Gottlieb, etc all run very well. Going to test the VPX Stand Alone soon and if that goes well I will be selling my gaming computer.

I think Atgames is working with Microsoft and Sony since they are doing the same thing they are doing. You have to pay $10 a month on PlayStation just to play most games on the internet. Highway robbery.

Atgames made a lower scaled option model of their ALP4k. $1250 with $150 off if you order from china. Comes with 1 game. BUT , they took out ability to ADD YOUR OWN GAMES/ ADDON X/COIN OPS, and disabled OTG (bring your own pinball games). But you can put those options back on for $100 each if you want. So basically when you add back to the two best feautres, and buy all your pinball games , you're paying the same price as the ALP4k if you were going to buy it outright. There's other wacky details too, but the point is , they can't even get the tables to run right, and now they want to sell you a different model that doesn't run, and basically charge you the same price.
@@therexershow aces, thanks! I was an early adopter of both the ALP and the 4KP, and I gotta say I’ve been disappointed with the support. Servers constantly down and unable to play, the ALP is 100% abandoned, the 4kP’s zen tables are unplayable laggy, prices keep going up, etc. I still enjoy the 4KP, but without the zen tables it’s more or less just a duplicate of my ALP, which I already added solenoids to so really hardly any better.
I’m interested in adding my own tables soon with vpin, as I understand it’s coming. And a total shame it won’t be on this cheaper machine. Oof.
@Mike-B-Jackson do you mean VPX standalone that those certain guys are doing ? We go over how they abaondend the HD , and how they can’t fix the ALp4k but want you to buy a version that you can’t even use OTG without paying them. It’s a farce .
