  • Since completing his studies at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School in 1991, Raynard Kington, MD, MBA, PhD, has had an extraordinary career as a senior scientist at both RAND and the Centers for Disease Control, and as Deputy Director and Acting Director of the $30 billion-a-year National Institutes of health (NIH). In 2010, he became the first African American president of Grinnell College in Iowa, one of the county's leading liberal arts schools. In November, 2013, he was invited back to Penn to give the annual "Career Narrative and Leadership Autobiography" lecture. This is a video of that 67-minute presentation.
