Has one higher thrust to weight than the standard lightning with more firepower and survivability. An MVP until lategame for me. Usually doesn't die until hit by a cruise missile in unfortunate accidents. I love how small this thing is though. Really pushes the limits of minimalist design.
@@highadmiralbittenfield9689 Oh the new update got rid of t hat. Empty hall pieces let damage through unless something occupies them like gas tanks or modules. THANK YOU for such a necro reply.
Not bad, really not bad. Inded this gave me an inspiration and as part of a similar design approach I created 2 new ships, each costing less than 4000 (the cheapest one only costing 3000!), so a real bargain indeed. (then again they are good for little else than to intercept and suprise attack weaker garrisons XD ) But hey, you get what you pay for :)
I find the issue with this game is that smaller more manoeuvrable craft struggle when the air is just filled with flying steel from the multiple attackers you will always face. It's fine dodging shots when you only have to concentrate on 1 enemy telegraphing their attacks. When you have 3 or 4, some firing clouds of 37mm, some letting loose salvoes of proximity shells which are almost unavoidable without constant G lock or huge fuel consumption, and your missile lock alarm has been beeping non stop since the beginning of combat from the 2 missile frigates out of view taking it in turns to take shots at you, then the small craft just run out fuel from the constant jinking and dodging lest they get deleted by 1 or 2 impacts. I feel the game is certainly balanced towards bigger craft with heavy armour and overwhelming fire-power smacking down enemies rapidly while warding off 1 or 2 salvoes with the heavy plating that let's them tank a few combat rounds before repairs at the next shipyard. The small ships just get overwhelmed. The small ships would be better in large numbers. Cheap. Fast. Able to close distance. Like the Japanese Zero. Or the Sherman Tank and win the war of attrition. But when your numbers are artificially capped at one at a time, then the small ship feels like challenge mode rather than a viable strategy in practice.
I had built a ship with 6 NK25s and 4 molots with mo armor and discovered what you did with the dodging capability, I hadn't thought about downsizing it though
you learn quickly that not every shot is worth dodging, and that's why armor exists. this is a great skirmish tool though if u wanna scout and have skills like OP.

Really bad design if against mid sized ships using Flak and even worse if a hit from a high caliber hits you. Fuel economy is bad and so is the flight stability. Recommend using reinforced hulls to tank shots from pea shooters and Flak and making ship more stable so you can get close to use AP Ammo without missing.
I haven't measured but it's certainly not suitable for very long fights. It's usually enough to destroy 1 armored and 2-3 unarmored ships before 30% warning.

An argument can be made for D-80, but this is more of a testament of how busted 130mm is in this game. Even worse, in campaign, Palash is an expensive & hard to get module, and I think you lost one even in the first fight. Combat time doesn't show up in ship designer before 1.14, but on my recreation of it in 1.15 it had 95 sec of combat time; for such underarmed ship this is catastrophic; it will survive most battles, but won't have enough time to win them. Finally, in-designer balancing does not allow to properly test that ship for what campaing might throw at it, refusing to put it against anything bigger that low- to mid-sized garrison. Late game, with Archangel + 2 random frigates combo filters out bad designs HARD. Of course, anything can be mitigated by strategic support (strat missiles + planes), but with that mindset even 4x4 2-thruster brick will be enough.
