Gotta love how he lightly taps her arm on the plane, but then she shows up to court with a cast on. lol
You'd think Sandler or his lawyer would have caught that, but apparently not.
@Mr. Khan Men barely ever get held accountable for real accusations, you're in no position to cry about the two false ones between hundreds of real ones.
@Mr. Khan might as well nuke their own country while they're at it. That's the equivalent of false accusations. You know what that means? World war 2 was fought for nothing if people destroy themselves inside out.
The genre of this movie in a nutshell
2003: Comedy
2022: Documentary
Somewhere in 2023: "Excuse me ma'am, could I maybe get that headset?"
"Ma'am?! Did you just assume my gender?! This man's upholding fascism!!"
@@ohklahoma7376 I’m literally begging you to just come up with a new joke, that’s all I want, just let the “did you assume my gender” joke rest in 2016 PLEASE
“I am calm what is it with you people”
“You people?” 😂😂😂😂
What kills me is they automatically show a black man turn around when it’s said 😂
@patnopp1160 The black guy believed he was saying "You people" as in the black persons people, or people who have black skin.
This scene used to simply frustrate me more than anything else.
@John Bravo i did a few years ago, but I feel like there was an easier way of solving the issue
It's very frustrating when you’re calm and they keep telling you to calm down
joel villa you don’t have to get all belligerent to make a point jeez calm down
this movie is brilliant, it forces the viewer to manage their own anger at the sheer and ridiculous amount of injustice Sandler's charachter is enduring
“Your missing important plot points” 3 dudes sitting in a sauna 😂 what a classic!
I don't know what movie it is but big stuff can happen in a small space. Maybe the protagonist is finally opening up about his grief of a dead family member or an assassin is getting close to his mark. Perhaps both?
@Dalton_Boardman2000 the movie they are watching is called "Tomcats" it came out 2001.starring another SNL alumni. Horatio Sanz. Shannon Elizabeth was also in the movie
Fifteen years later this is less of a comedy and more of a tale of how things are.
Damn straight but this movie was stupid AF.
I just like the one bit, the fat cat. Priceless.
Edit: his name is not fat cat, it's meatball. how could I forget.
I can’t believe how severely he hurt that flight attendant, hope her arm is okay.
Lawyer: Not guilty, it’s a no brainer.
Judge: I find you guilty.
Lawyer: hm…
he souldve been able to sue all he did was raise his voice once and got tased BS
What makes this scene much more frustrating is when he's basically raising his voice, making himself firm yet people don't notice/deliberately ignore him.
He basically had the right to be mad in this scene to be real.
This is what I go through most of the time at school, and I'm glad one movie scene can describe what I feel.
so this movie is about tackling Adam Sandler's implosive anger
the whole set up was planned by the person sitting next to him whos an anger management therapist in the movie.
in this one scene he makes adam sandler confront most of his anger issues - embarrassed that women heard him talking about brstt implants, flight attendants ignoring him and he felt ignored unimportant, the first guy telling him to go sit in another seat so his unwillingness to confront the first guy, his anxiousness everything
and then the court orders him to either go jail or take anger management therapy from nicholson
the director and writer was way ahead!! This movie is gold standard as it teaches you to be bold and confront that means put forward your views instead of internally exploding anger ..
just stand for what you want and be strong
It's terrible when people make you angry, specially when trying to confuse you, then complain about your anger.
@@jestes7 It is possible yeah. And thanks, had no idea my random comment would get likes and people that thinks like me. My ex-girlfriend used to do that a lot with me. Getting someone angry is wrong, just as it is wrong to loose control. People can be really nasty.

PacketSODMG i know right.... one reason i didn't like this movie... ridiculous is great... but not unfairly ridiculous if it's a setup
Jeff Busby plus it doesn’t make sense that u break someone’s arm simply by touching it so odd
Adam: How does she have a broken arm I didn't even lay a finger on her!
Lady: you assulted me with your words
Adam: I just wanted to watch a movie!!!

This is so true, people are so overly paranoid and easily offended that the smallest things get blown outta proportion
Try now. The wrong words can actually get you fired in more "progressive" states.
so true. every one gets offended by any thing these days. you cant even
look at someone with out them getting offended
I did have a few days in my life where people got at me even though I was just minding my own business.
Somehow it's so satisfying the way Adam yell "I'M CALM!!!"
Yeah considering that he was getting annoyed that they weren't listening
If I could think of something to say without saying something stupid when being accused of racism, Id look at Buddy and say, “Oh, I get it. This bozo right here was under my skin over some movie which I doubt I’ve seen before nor want to watch. Now he wants me to look like I’m the crazy one.”
That flight attendant and security agent are telling him to calm down with an angry attitude 🤦🤦🤦🤦
This is how it feels when talking to your parents
Its amazing that this back in 2003 was a comedy because of how absurd the situation is, but actually now in 2018 this is way closer to reality than fiction
I don't know where a headset ties into patriotism...
You never know, maybe 9/11 started because some terrorists were not given their headsets on a plane.
Jack Nicholson starts the whole shenanigans only to see him dead asleep at the end. 😂😂
xPUNISHER84x funniest part like how convenient he falls asleep when things get serious lol can’t lie I would’ve done the same lmaoo
well Jack and Sandler's were in on da plot to get him to Anger Mngmnt
@xPUNISHER84x Jack Nicholson is the only reason I’ll watch this terrible movie
I don't understand why he didn't just calm down
He was calm. He just didn't like them repeating calm down when he was.
Simon B Can't you see Rydell was under his skin about the movie he was watching? Dave didn't have the headsets and was loosing his patience.

Telling someone who is calm, to calm down, is the quickest way to make the not so calm anymore.
This scene pissed me the hell off when I first saw it.

It is the same with millions see this movie as a real issue today.
“I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.”

How schools respond to every word you say when you're trying to explain that the bully hit you first 💀🤦
nah schools do that for every situation, even questions about the subject
Very painful movie to watch at points
If you think that's painful, you'd never survive outside a government trying to keep everything safe. Try North Korea and see what pain really is.
United Airlines in a nutshell. 😀
As someone who’s flown United, I get annoyed by this simulation because IRL having Adam Sandler’s character’s personality is actually a really effective way of calming those flight attendants down. I’ve done it twice, once because I really was shy and once on purpose because it worked so well the first time. I think it’s because they know they’re being buttheads (but can’t stop because they’re in too bad of a mood) and assume you’re going to get angry with them, so when you don’t, they appreciate it.
The way he walks into Camera View is Hilariously Perfect 🤣 with all seriousness and power then he corrects Adams words and further usurps his authority 😆 He Makes this scene priceless 😂
Bro just wanted a headset
1:47 - Adam Sandler’s face/ eyes when he yells “I’m calm!” 😂😂😂
Just another brief yet excellent example of Sandler’s acting capabilities at 1:46 - the way he snaps like that is so well delivered.
It's not acting. There was a far better movie called Punch Drunk Love where he really displays his inner demons throughout. That's really him. That's the thread from Happy on down through his movies. When the checks stop coming for his terrible "comedies", at least one of those people will sit down with an interviewer and let that be known.

bob bobby I don’t blame em for freaking out over a headset. I mean, is it me, or has Buddy been stalking him?
gaslighting in the highest form
He wasn't even yelling
+MrBrandonStar I am pretty sure that the film is implying that he actually is yelling and being violent, he just doesn't realize it himself; in his own eyes, he is just acting calm and behaves totally rationally. That's why the guy needs, well, Anger Management, because he can't control his rage because he doesn't see it's there.
At least, that's what I get from this scene. :P

Yep, it's a classic trick. You take someone that is actually calm, and you keep telling them to "calm down" in order to piss them off, and then you act like you were right the entire time about them freaking out and needing to calm down, basically gaslighting them.
