Note that the power settings can be fine adjusted in the software dropdown menu. Program/Test Online. Make sure the radio is plugged in and turned on and press/check box the online button. Low and high can be adjusted separately from 1-255 (arbitrary numbers) The setting are made in 10 MHz increments selected from the list to the left. I discovered this purely by accident. Good luck.
I have a TYT UV8000E, it is connected too an Abbree 18.8 inch antenna, look it up, its a great antenna. On 146.775, a local repeater, I get a swr of 1.02 and a power output of 9.98 watts. So it literally is all about the antenna.
Do you know if this radio's output power is improved when using external power like the battery eliminator? My Yaesu FT-60's power seems to improve when I have external power connected. Just curious if this was the case with this radio.
I got the following numbers that were pretty much the same on two different meters: Frequency HIGH LOW ------------------ 140.000 9.22W 6.03W 142.725 9.84W 6.03W 143.500 9.98W 6.05W 146.355 10.40W 6.23W 440.525 10.50W 5.73W 442.000 9.86W 5.68W 446.252 9.57W 5.58W Just shows to go you how different some radios and meters are. I would have liked to have seen some smaller numbers in the second column.
the TYTUV8000E needs a minimum of 3 Power levels its a Shame it only has constant balls out full power only you Can't conserve battery power when needed? :/ other then THAT,, what a Great little Power house
I have watched those emissions on you tube and I decided to buy TYT UV8000E. So at the beginning I must say I'M DISAPPOINTED!!! I have two pieces now, I have tested on many frequencies UHF and VHF. I have not yed tested in open area, but normal I need them to be functional in TOWN, IN AREA WITH BUILDINGS AND HOUSES! With original small antenas, at the earth level, not from the floors high, I have reach connection approximately JUST 200-300 METER AIR LINE!!!!!!!! With others, hi gain antennas, JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE, about 400-500m air line!!! (town area) and of course set on high power. I Don't know what are those WATTS but with 5w Motorolla I have ~4km air line in town area( my town is about ~6km in diameter). I'm so DISAPOINTED And I think something is made in electronic on these chinese toys to show those watts on the SWR Power meter but i believe in reality they shows some FAKE POWER. From earlier, I have also two pieces Baofeng UV5-RTP 8W and With 17cm long antenna these are better from TYT UV8000E.
Chris it's not good on UHF it's raining at 10 the radio should be putting out 10 watts on the both bands I'm telling you Chinese are really think they're smart I hope they lose money on this radio
Eric Nice radio thank you for sharing this 😊😊😊😊😊

Hey thanks for the tip ! I found the power settings you wrote about 3 years ago .

Hey Chris looks like a really nice radio 👍

Not supposed to operate the radio plugged in. It's not a $1,000 Motorola
@@Johnyrocket70 Did I say anything about plugging it in? NOPE! I just used a fully charged battery.

Good evening,
Is better this or Tyt uv-8200?
Are there other radio option, in this range of price, for 10w power?,
Thank,
Michael.
Hi, could you recommend a telescopic antenna with SWR close to 1 for uv 8000d?
Why is there over 1.5 SWR into a dummy load at UHF?
I got the following numbers that were pretty much the same on two different meters:
Frequency HIGH LOW
------------------
140.000 9.22W 6.03W
142.725 9.84W 6.03W
143.500 9.98W 6.05W
146.355 10.40W 6.23W
440.525 10.50W 5.73W
442.000 9.86W 5.68W

TYT UV8000E can it be used like as walkie talkie station, if/when the function crossband repeater is activated?
What's the mAh of the battery?
Can anyone tell me what the “tail” setting is for?
8 is better than the 3.9 I got now

Still same mistakes on youtube! SWR makes power measurement useless!
