Really enjoying ur battle reports. We had our first try, Roman vs gallic. Roman win, but a lot tougher than we expected...cheers frank…👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Frank Le 🐿️
Interesting game system. I usually play Napoleonics but a friend is talking me into building a late Roman force for DBA. I'm wavering. The figures are gorgeous! 😍
Thanks Michael…we’re really enjoying the system, it’s fast and fun….but very different to the free flowing movement games we usually play…have fun with DBA…never tried it myself…👍👍
Thanks for this. It looks like a fun, fast playing game. I have a pack of those very small playing cards that can be found in novelty shops and online; are two packs or one needed for this game?
It will play a bit faster if both players have a pack as in combat you throw down in response to one another, but if you want to try it out just swap the deck between you, the card system works well and it’s worth a go, cheers JP
Does this system have any morale rules? If you destroy the unit in front do nearby enemy units take morale tests. It looks like the units totally ignore their surroundings, as the Romans had several major breakthroughs totally ignoring the Sassanid cavalry in their rear, Excellent painted figures, those A&A miniatures really come alive with a good paint job.
Hi John we definitely don’t know the rules well, but we were able to play those first couple of games straight from the book, if a unit breaks from memory it will impact those around it……but outflanking etc other than in combat doesn’t I think…..but don’t hold me too that 😀😀 we enjoyed them none the less and I’m sure will play a few more games, cheers JP 😀😀
Beautiful figures but the game itself, I’m not so sure: the hexes give it the feel of a game of draughts somehow and the cards lack the drama of dice. I’m not familiar with the rules so the flow of the game was a little difficult to follow and the sense of involvement was consequently, for me, sensibly diminished. My comment on earlier “ancient” games stands, not helped by any terrain difficulties. Sorry, you did ask😊 but the main thing was that you and the boys enjoyed it. The Waterloo game is obviously throwing its shadow👍
Nicholas, it is a great fun game to play but I agree with all your comments, it is more like a board game, but the cards do make it fast paced and indeed feel a bit odd to start with, we will keep playing it but I’m not sure I’ve got the hang of how to do a decent video of the game. Back to Napoleonics for the next few games 😀😀. Thanks for watching cheers JP

Some of the nicest army's I've seen, really looking forward to a company doing 3rd century crisis period in plastic. Good job 👍

Can Iask you what base sizes you are using. they look great
Hi JP, May I ask, which rules system were the units originally based for in their sets of three mini's per base (for heavy infantry) please?
Nice game; Somewhere I have some old Romans and Sassanids in 15mm that could use some touching up
Thanks, if you havnt id give the rules a go they are quite fun….cheers. jP
Gorgeous looking game! Feels weird there being no dice rolls though...
Exactly my thoughts but it does work really well 😲😲😀😀

@@JP-ml4zh As I have played so many systems I can't remember the details of any rules now!
Now your talking JP.....
Glad you enjoyed 😀😀

used to play WRG and Tactica been a while for ancients for me
The only frustration is the need for the gridded mat, but having that sorted I’d really recommend them, cheers JP
