WHAT FOODS ARE FED?
Fruit is typically used, such as apples, bananas, and pears. You will also see specially prepared saw meat and suet served several times per day. The tube feeder has mixed birdseed inside and the glass feeder is full of nectar water.

What a great animal to have at the feeder - I am green with envy😊I think they are one of the most handsome animals and at the same time seem unchanged from early mammals. They remind me a little bit of our American ringtail (Bassariscus astutus).

Hi. We live next to a nature reserve in JHB and have quite a few genets around here, We have even raised and rehabilitated a abandoned baby genet. I would love to also provide some supplementary feeding, especially in winter, as I do with the birds around here. Would you mind sharing the recipe(s) for what you feed them?

That is awesome! The food provided is 'saagsels' - unsalable butchers sawdust. Collected fresh from local butchers, rolled in balls and frozen for storage. Defrost before use. They also like bananas.
