Class of 2012 here.. I don’t know how I stumbled on this video but it’s pretty on point even from when I was there.. best advice to all students... be humble and just learn. More than half of the people I went to school with that were cocky, competitive, and “big shots” aren’t even chefs anymore or never even made it “big” in the industry. Good luck to all you prospects and future students!

When she said “I don t actually like the people” 😂😭 made me laugh so much because of the fact that it’s so true, I also wanted to attend CIA and did get accepted but due the how much it is I decide to attend a local school called Los Angeles Trade tech Community College, and even there we are super competitive but it also depends how social you are and the people that you surround yourself with, I have lots of friends at school of all ages and specialities, and I recommend getting to know others as much as possible, because only time will tell what paths they will lead. - Daisy B Garcia

I'm hoping to start the summer22 sem and I wish we could be friends there! I feel the same, I'm absolutely not a competitive person and I find it point less since everyone does get the same prize in the end. I'd rather remain humble and learn as much as I can.

My question is what do you specifically want to do with you degree? Culinary school is as competitive as you choose it to be. It’s disciplinary aspect will make you stand out. You also will realize that you can spot a disciplined person by the way the choose to act in circumstances that you are going to be challenged in.
