  • The beauty of the hover air x1 autonomous selfie cam/drone is that it’s designed to fly itself at the push of a button-ideal if you’re a solo creator like me without anyone to fly the drone for you and you don’t want to have to faff around with flying it yourself. However, there is also a manual mode you can unlock in the hover app that will let you go manual to get those shots that aren’t meant to have you as the center of attention.
I slapped this short video together to get more editing practice and because I thought it gave a good peek at how simple flying in manual mode is. Enjoy!

Fantastic demonstration. I love mine and am looking forward to enjoying some manual mode flying with the little controller that I bought for $20!

Nice work on the manual mode - not many have covered that -

Thanks! I wasn’t really doing a “review” per se, but just flew it around to see what it’s like. You may have noticed the rotation and gimbal movements seemed way too fast and I can’t find a way to slow them down. Love the drone, though-I use it all the time with its regular flight modes.

So that means the hover can use in viewing air background not only yourself. So your using your phone as remote control sir?

@@HighlandFace94 Yes. In manual mode, the Hover app provides a simple controller screen on your phone that lets you control it like a basic drone. Nothing particularly fancy, but it seems to work okay up to maybe 50 feet away maximum.

Why doesn't it let me use free mode without WiFi? I can only use it at home with WiFi, why? any solution? thank you!

Hmm. I know that you have to fly in regular modes a certain number of times before it “unlocks” manual mode-have you done that? Also, you have to be connected to the Hover’s WiFi network to control it and see the preview. I never had any trouble myself and I’m no tech guru, so I’d have to suggest you contact their tech support.
