✨️Wow, I could hear the difference in the quality and audio just from you switching the interfaces...Great video, supa insightful and dope beat...Thank you for sharing GS 🙏🏾💜🔥💯
Enjoyed this video! Man It’s wild how some say there’s no difference between analog & digital but it can be clearly heard on youtube. Your setup is TOP TIER
@@Yawsounds thank you. There is definitely a difference. Once you hear it you can tell. That doesn’t necessarily mean you need it to create great songs though.
@@Yawsounds the 2Bus+ has the Paralimiter which is a parallel compression knob and a Harmonica knob in addition to the Transformer knob. It also has a built in insert channel for in my case a hardware mastering chain I’m building towards.
Interesting video. Well organized. Good presentation. Loudness is not sound quality. The Apollo is not supposed to alter or color the sound but the converters are quite old and not up to current standards.
I should have used better wording there but there is a difference in output. In terms of the age of the Apollo compared to other interfaces like the RME that most compare it to it’s debatable. Also newer doesn’t always translate to “better” which is why a lot of people hunt for classic gear. I do appreciate the comments though.
Bro, this is so cool. I have been wanting to go to analog from digital. I also use Focusrite audio interfaces. I’ve been thinking about getting to get a bigger mixing board by the Tascam 12 or 16. My guy DC has been telling me to get the Clarrett. I wanna be able to track my drums and things of that nature. This really is a help helpful video.
I find it amazing that you're still on the MPC DAW. I yeeted myself to Ableton as soon I had the chance lmao. Now,Marlow,Malo (even CS) are into the analog goodies keeping to put the good work
🤔 gratitude.... I just switched to apollo x8 as well from focusrite clarrett... I can hear a noticeable difference, especially tracking in through UA Console from mpc to Pro Tools 💣💨🔥
Brauh I can hear some magic wit dat summing gear, sounds good depth and crispy and I know youtube ain't given us justice on the sound... Congrads... I'll get there eventually
Don’t take this the wrong way but I’m not so sure the beat sounds any better than they always do. Your mixes always sound good. Maybe I need to be in the room.
It’s all good. It’s not exactly the same through TH-cam as the live sound but you should be able to hear some of the changes when it’s at extreme levels.
So you kinda have to resample everything in the mpc? I still export the arrangements in song mode as a wav to then master in Ableton (although I've been using the mpc less and less these days)
You don’t necessarily have to resample it. I was not completely done with this beat idea BUT when using outside gear you do have to record it to another source in REAL TIME. Let’s say I finished the beat in full with the arrangement and everything. If I used analog summing to mix it then I would have to play the full finished beat LIVE through the analog mixer and record it to SOMEWHERE. It could be back into the MPC or it could be into Ableton or FL Studio. You could also choose to record the stems one at a time as well. With this type of method EXPORTING bypasses the external gear used so that would not be the way to go.
@@GhettoStyles thanks! I wanted to record stem by stem into Ableton, but my interface (or the cable) is shit so it sounded poorly. I still want to try with another cable before giving. This would make me come back to the mpc more often
@@PeteOnTheBeat as I said in the video that was a major issue after initially trying it. I had mostly regular cables and after upgrading my setup I heard a lot of static and a buzzing sound that was driving me crazy. It was because the regular cables didn’t have enough insulation and was pulling in interference. I ended up switching out all of my cables for pro studio grade cables and all of that went away. I also installed a power cleaner/conditioner to help.
The paralimiter is a combination of heavy parallel compression/limiting with a high shelf type EQ on top. It is doable with stock plugins but it will take more than one. As far as harmonics there are plugins that add harmonics and saturation. Right now my favorite plugin for saturation is Saturn 2 from FabFilter but it runs about $130
@@GhettoStylesI think you might want to consider buying the Presonus 32SC mixer being that it's both digital and analog plus a DAW controller. That way I can learn from you what I need to know. I bought one a while back I have just been too busy over-the-road truck driving. The unit is versatile. It's also a remote-controllable stand-alone unit.
Brotha i'm gonna be real with you unless you are recording multiple people fam there is no reason for that 18 in 18 out apollo and i think u wasted money on that setup and are you mixing and mastering you already have a mpc x for beats your setup is towards mixing and mastering tbh. I would have spent that cash else where enhancements were done with that mpc x you bought.
I do record and mix with it. My main DAW of preference is Cubase Pro 13 as of now. I been using Cubase almost forever. I have a template that I built specifically for my setup which now includes 8 hardware sends to the 2 bus and the Clarett has 8 more patch sends built in so I can get up to 24 sends. I mainly got it for that honestly. However most people are on this channel for MPC stuff so I decided to show how it can be integrated with it as well. I have very few videos related to Cubase or any other DAWs on this channel as of right now.
@@GhettoStyles I really do appreciate you and your channel I seen the new updated video I'm so glad you went into depth and detail about how you use you're work flow, and how you explained most youtubers don't have the courage to reupload explaining the process I respect it even more. Dope video bro! Definitely hear the punch and “live” feeling from the summing mixer. The beat was already smackin, that just took it up another level. 💯💯💯🦾

Dope Dope Dope.

Signal path is often overlooked.
I use to believe cables didn’t matter until I could actually hear the interference.

Hearing it isn't sounding great. I've heard clean recordings come from your studio. That ain't it. Sounds distorted. My playback is 720.
I don’t think that’s distortion you are hearing there. I think that is the sound of the expansion pack used which already has a bit of grit in it.
