MSNBC host Michael Steele and Democratic strategist Basil Smikle reassure undecided voters that Harris is doing enough to win despite a much shorter campaign window than usual.

Well said. There are only two candidates for crying out loud; and one of them has already been in the media without interruption for the past 10 years. If three months is not enough time to get to know the other one, it means you just couldn't care less.
We see that point of view because we're the aware audience mentioned early in the segment (along with her family). The MAGA people are in the same boat on the other end. Most undecided voters aren't undecided because they don't know who they'll vote for; they're undecided about voting at all because the information we know already hasn't gotten to them, or hasn't been made clear. It's not everywhere, and those undecided people don't know this is different and the most important election ever, because THAT info hasn't gotten to them.
Yes, they should pay attention. It's everybody's job to let them know that, not to blame them because nobody else has made that clear to them before.

As a voter, saying you "don't understand who she is" means you haven't taken the time to do so. You can hear and see the debate and any interviews you missed (it's called TH-cam), go to her website to read the "in the weeds" details of her policy positions, follow her on social, etc. There is plenty of ways to connect.

It's easy to be ignorant here. There's 333 million in an area almost the size of Europe, averaging about 40% of the population density against your 743 million people. Those in crowded areas similar to Europe, don't change the election results because their areas always vote the same direction, even when quite a few people sit out. It's all the people in smaller cities, not all rural, but not metros either, that live in the states that act as the tie breakers. Those are the people that are harder to get info to, yet need it the most.

Michael Steele = the voice of reason. She's dealing with a hurricane response, continuing an intense rally schedule, and trying to focus on this last stretch toward November 5. She's done a bunch of radio, a couple podcasts, and I expect more interviews over the next 4 weeks, but this is a very short campaign season for her, and there's only so much you can do at once.

Some have laws that specify this, in order to keep nonsense to a minimum. Corporations, super-PAC's, and smear campaigns are the only reason this gets dragged out. America didn't used to do it this way, and our higher population and technology means we don't need a long time for people to get info. We just need them to pay attention. It doesn't take 500 days to get to know somebody's policy, and find out what we need to know about their character. I've never seen one European lament not having enough time for this - they think we're silly.

I agree, wholeheartedly, with Michael. And, I would like to add that we should make a cognitive effort to not hold Harris to much higher standards than we hold previous candidates and presidents. As of today --- and you showed the numbers -- has campaigned for 1/5 as long as her contemporary and her predecessors. She is also holding down the second highest, heaviest job in the country during one of the most difficult times. She cannot be everything to everyone for every reason that comes to mind. I believe that if she had been campaigning for a full year, she would have had numerous sit downs, podcasts, interviews, walk-ons, whatevers. But, it is not logistically possible for anyone to do everything that everyone wants. Are you?

Don't underestimate the power of artists like Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish to get out the youth vote. There is no universal reach anymore but thousands of niche audiences.
