No, but the sastras tell us to worship our gurus because Krsna enjoys being served through a guru more than He enjoys being served directly. One has to understand that the guru is not God, but he is to be treated, as a formality, as if he is God, so we can become pure enough to approach the Lord directly. That is what Krsna has decided for us and revealed unto us through sastra and we must respect His wishes.

That's what I thought also, but when I looked back at the video I saw the young lady looking up at the deities on the altar after she had invited them to sit down on the seats in front of her. So then when she's offering the mouthwash and foot wash, she's looking at the deities on the altar, not that they are sitting there in front of her in meditation. It's a technical thing I wonder about because usually I meditate that they are now on the seats, and I am offering items to them from that point of view, not looking back at the altar (Even though that would seem a lot easier because you can look at them physically. So that's why I wonder and I'm asking! Thanks) .
If you're a Christian that's how you worship. Pls stop imposing fanatic ideologies onto other faith. If you didn't know, we Hindus can even place the image of Jesus and Mother Mary along with our deities, and worship them together. Our faith is far more inclusive than yours. For simple dhoop aarti you need incense sticks, flowers, chamar and peacock feathers fan (not in winters)

if Goura Nitai are sitting then wash their feet and mouths on the seat! they are in the seat in the asana then invite them back to the altar.
