Thank you soooo much for this. I’ve been going back and forth between the AIM, BB, and Cinch for weeks. This just makes it that much easier. I want a controller modified to MY hands, not a one size fits all build. Fully swayed.
100% I switched from scuf over to battle beaver after I got the scuf vantage and it had the dead space I couldn't handle. I actually watched your video and was a little relieved that someone else had the issue. But being a competitive player that I am I knew I could not use that Controller. I returned it, got my battle beaver and haven't looked back since. I ordered the controller on Monday and got it by Friday... Insane customer service. I made an unboxing video if you'd ever want to check it out. Thanks for your solid reviews brotha.
Roberto Gutierrez yeah man, I had ordered back in November when they had the 48 boost build and 48 ship. It was nutty. I ordered on Monday and then got it on Friday. Amazing.
That color scheme is great. Seemingly random, but I find it pretty damn adorable. And nothing better than popping off headshots in a shooter... with an adorable controller.
I’ve had two of these controllers. I spent the extra money for boosted shipping and the Delivery time took 9 weeks for each controller. I am betting money you got it delivered so fast because they know of your channel. Two friends of mine also ordered and had lengthy ship times so people don’t expect fast shipment. Spent 308 dollars each but I went all out. Go with increased thumbstick tension. Also, the streamer quiet buttons on the back are the way to go the other ones are very loud and people in party chat can here every single time you press them. If you have the money go for it if ya don’t dominator pack is just fine. Wicked grips are nice for not sweating hands but they do peak away in time and yes they somewhat interfere with pressing the buttons on the back but it doesn’t lead to miss clicks. I have no idea how you spent that little either. The thing about this controller is if it fucks up and you are used to increased sensitivity you have to send it in and wait a long time so you’re forced to wait and go back to a regular ps4 controller with different thumbstick tension. Ya almost need two. Unless you live in Texas because that’s where they are based out of. Hope this helps someone.
I had the issue where the increased tension seemed to make the stick start drifting (like looking left slowly with no input) real quick. Like 3 months. Also had a really shitty repair experience where I sent them 2 controllers, they didnt fix either, didnt clean out the sticks so they still drifted, and they took of the grip for one and didnt put it back on... and they didnt respond to me when i emailed them dodging responsibility. I liked the controllers but that was real shitty, hell shipping itself was expensive as fuck and they did nothing! and charged for repair fees. Im still angry about that shit, I could have bought a new controller
Hey man, just spent about 2 hours total watching all your content on the different controllers and I think I’m gonna return my c40 to go with battle beaver, the size of the c40 has been a huge issue and I have been pressing the paddles accidentally in game and it’s been causing me to play worse. Thanks for taking the time to make unbiased reviews, not too many people out there looking out for consumers so I appreciate it, you’ve earned another sub :)
Finally someone is giving these guys some recognition! I've been pounding the table for a couple years now for these guys. Any one that asks me about scuf or custom controllers I tell them to get a battle beaver. Best controllers ever.
How’s your battle beaver going I ordered one I’m planning to make a video on 3 other brands and compare them. I already dislike a few brands big issues and waste of money hope battle beaver proves me wrong.
@@Kroganmerc really, so basically there all the same I’m surprised I have had my scuf for over 6 months and still going but I didn’t order digital tap triggers I heard they are prone to breaking. I was considering it with battle beaver but again I’m also worried they would break too.
@@Kroganmerc is that with battlebeavers ? As well it sucks theres no company’s out there you can rely on and expect not to keep paying for a new controller all the time.
I've had my battle beaver for over 2 years, still going strong. One thing I would stay away from is smart triggers. They break all the time. Yes, you can send the controller in for repairs but after 4 times sending the controller in and spend about $10 for shipping each time, it adds up. So I had them put back the stock triggers back.
I've been using a Battle Beaver Customs controller for nearly 5 years now, not a single issue. It is absolutely amazing and I would recommend them over any custom controller maker on the market right now.
Dude, lifetime build warranty? I’m sold. Finally gonna buy a custom controller and ditch the strikepack (which I bought because of your review). Just wanna say thanks for all the reviews on all the controllers. Battle Beaver here I come, peace.
For the quality of reviews and videos you have, the subscribers you have are too less. You belong up there with the top techie channels bro! Sharing you, tweeting you, spreading the word man! Way to go
I purchased a controller late wish last year. Main features that I got were smart triggers/bumpers, increased tension on the right stick, and 4 rear buttons. Over the next 120 days (I got the extended warranty) I had to return my controller for the same issue with the down input on the directional pad not responding 4 times. Thankfully, that issue was FINALLY fixed, but now the left stick is making unwanted inputs to the left, so I will have to send it in again. To put this into perspective, I purchased a $225+ custom controller, and during the first 120 days it was at BBC getting repaired more than it was at my house ready to be used. It is a shame that this was my experience with them, as they clearly have the most impactful mods available on the market, but to say that I recommend treading lightly with their controllers and their repair policy would be an understatement.
I heard about this company through a comment on a review site. Looked promising. I fully customized my dream controller and right before it hit submit I decided I needed a few more reviews to warrant the large transaction. Then I stumbled upon this video. You sold me instantly. Looking forward to my new Battle Beaver controller! Thanks, buddy!
Deafly would’ve been nice to have known about this controller before I bought my scuf impact not that I’m not happy with my impact but it would be cool to have other choices really good review man
I’ve gone through most every controller on the market. These battle beaver guys have the best thing going, right now. They are standing above everyone else with the options of 6 buttons on the back side and the smart click triggers and bumpers. What they are doing makes you wonder why all other companies arnt doing the same.
Broo I love ur honest review videos!!! 1 like and thank for helping us to which controller u reccomend. And I like the look of it!!! And the controller clicks part it was like an asmr 😂 6:26
I've had 2, one i manage to fix myself with spare ps4 , the joystick actuator went out, then the R1 trigger seized up. My second one now has back button (left side) not responding on every click, and it's a show stopper, as all gamers know you go to click a button and it don't work, u dead. Very expensive endeavor w/ this small shop.
@@jorden8397 I don't know what aim is. Anyhow, I recently tested an Xbox Elite 2 and it was way better quality than the Battle Beaver. I did however experience what many people do, and the Y button randomly will fail to register. I'd say maybe 1 out of 40 clicks. Also the config software is awful, if you can even get it to work on PC. don't know about the xbox software.
I had a battle beaver controller for alittle over a year. My experience is it’s too expensive and time consuming to receive to warrant the quality of the device. A few months in left smart trigger broke through the click part to becoming a normal trigger. Still worked just smart trigger didn’t hold up to extended usage. About 6 months after that my right smart trigger did the same thing. Over the year I had terrible stick drift seemingly come and go in both thumb sticks. My two back buttons aren’t very responsive after 6 months of normal wear and tear. Maybe I’m a heavier gamer then some, but the back buttons tend to stick and won’t respond to the clicks. My right back button popped off so now I’m stuck fiddling to find their switch on the inside of the back of the controller. If you considering sending it to be repaired be prepared to wait A VERY LONG TIME. By the time they get it, get around to fixing it, and sending it back it can take months and months. Not to mention the build time to construct the controller in the first place. Took about three or four months to get my controller. Would I get another one? No
Thanks for that info. I’ve gone through at least 8 Scufs and am now on my second Astro C40 with battle beaver modules. The replaceable modules were a great feature to save on purchasing whole controllers whenever an analog stick got run into the ground, but I also am an ... intense player so the square button on the first Astro and the R1 (I play tactical flipped) on the second one, all have failed from being pressed too much. There really doesn’t seem to be a perfect solution just yet on the market.
Great review, I've checked out their website multiple times and decided to e-mail them to see if they would be able to customize an Xbox controller that I've been in search for. I'm looking for something similar to how Razer has their "m1 and m2" buttons in between the LT and RT. Unfortunately, I haven't seen any other company who allows custom buttons like those in between the RT and LT. Also, to see if they're capable of implementing their smart triggers into buttons to give that mechanical button feedback.
Thanks for the info. I just got my Battle Beaver and it's sick. it took about a month and a half, but it was worth the wait. At the same time I ordered anAim controller. Nice controller but sadly they sent me the wrong color they said the colors varied on the model I chose, so you guys be careful if you order the Genisis color. It looks nothing like what I ordered. Sad part is the guy there at Aim named Adam K never got back to me and never really cared, so I'm stuck with the $230 controller that's not what I chose, on the other hand the Battle Beaver came perfect, it actually feels a little better than the AIM. 'So buyer beware' Aim controllers customer service is not that good. Battle Beaver on the other hand has taken good care of me.
Jefftod I actually have 1 but I have to return it because there's no pc function, i emailed the company and they said it's because of their mod set application
@@blaiselion Strike pack is awesome but the thumbstick tension, smart triggers, wireless and PC compatibility makes the battle beaver worth it. Paid $100 for one on Black Friday
I think it's awesome you covered this brother. Thank you I will definitely be contacting them to have a controller built. I wouldn't have until your video. I think you represented the company and what they do excellent. Thanks again.
Great video. I think you did a great job reviewing the Battle Beaver controller. I will be picking one up asap. You actually killed me and a friend of mine on apex legends last night lol. Keep up the grind bro. GG'z
Love my battle beaver the only thing that sucks is my r2 smart trigger broke like 6 months ago got it fixed now my L2 is doing the same thing! Lifetime build warranty comes in handy for sure
i would love if there was a number pad or dpad inbetween paddles where the conntroller code number goes. just below the charger so i can switch weapons in fortnite like i was playing pc mouse and keyboard.
Well..the people have spoken. Astro C40. Looks good. Plans on a review anytime soon...but honestly...the way Beaver executes the controller is top notch along with a fantastic warranty...hard to beat.
Astro C40 tr best contoller in the market. Plug and play is the best. Completely customizable in app. Everything that he has mentioned about these ps4 controlers the astro has and more. No need to add kontrol freeks since it has grip on body and sticks. I bought scuff vantage when it released and used it once. It is sitting in its case in my drawer ever since. I've bought just about every controller in the market and astro c40tr is the best.
HRJ 23 it’s has a lot going for it but it does not fit everyone’s hands comfortably. That was the only reason I returned mine the other day. It felt bulky in my hands but the build quality was great.
Astro c40 too bulky.. sticks are not comfortable after playing a while they feel like hard plastic and hurt the fingers. If u play fortnite the bulk is definitely not good for building.
There is only one legit review of the battle beaver controller and this is the one. Thank you. Planning to order one. Wish they had some kind of discount for your viewers.
Kujayhawk the destiny streamer uses and swears by battle beaver. I think he’s responsible for a few sales. I have. C40 on preorder. I’ll have to see how that feels. Good hair btw!
Took one apart for a friend and fixed his controller. Really impressed with the modifications. The "smart triggers" actually use omron switches (mouse switches) but the one's like the g pro superlight side buttons so not the full size version. Great review! I really want to buy one now
Did your buddy’s controller have a remap chip installed? If so, is there any chance of damaging/affecting it as you detach the rear shell to tear down?
Did your buddy’s controller have a remap chip installed? If so, is there any chance of damaging/affecting it as you detach the rear shell to tear down?
If you are broke I recommend the back button attachment made by sony for the ps4. It's actually pretty ergonomic, little to no latency, and tactile and easy to press buttons. I believe it's only $20 - 30 I dont remember paying much for it. Attaches to any regular ps4 controllers. And has an easy mapping system. It's all around a good deal. Ive been using mine for maybe a month now still works like when I got it. Not sure about longevity yet but for such a cheap price it is worth trying.
Such a great video man. I've been looking at all the controllers and there's always atleast one flaws but I've finally found the one. Super informative subbed 👍
@@koiro1871 Not right now due to COVID. I have a Beaver with rear buttons that are not working and need to send it in. Piss poor timing. I also have a controller I'd like to send in for mods, because clearly I need a backup. Beavers are great, but the buttons on the back will wear out eventually. Mine started going after 13 months of pretty heavy use. Bought my BBC in December 2019 and by this past January I was getting poor response from the rear buttons. Triggers, bumpers, and sticks are holding up great... but the rear buttons not so much.
Just so you know, if you don't buy the boost on build time it takes FOREVER for it to show up, I think you being you helped with the build and shipping time aswell 😊 it's gonna take about another 4 or so weeks for mine to get here, I got increased tension and smart triggers, with a nice orange soft touch to go with it
Outside gaming I race Remote Control Cars. With my Controller, a Sanwa MT-4, I could adjust the tension of the throttle trigger and steering dial. To see someone do this in gaming is pretty awesome cause controller tension from my experience can change everything and it's an easy option to overlook.
@@BapeBuIly I just bought a vantage, obviously different than the impact by a bit. But I love mine, and I'm not experiencing any of the issues people claimed. I went with the wired for the best response time. I only use two paddles however.
The Impact is the best controller I've ever used. I love the xbox shape with the ps stick layout. I only use 2 paddles so the placement works for me. I gave my 1st one to a mate so I could buy a second one with a new one with a different design lol
This was a really good review!!! I was interested in the C40 and the Scuff ones, but man this just takes the cake. Sorry, I'll be back for more reviews after I check out their website. LOL.
*_xNoExcuses-_* I bought a battle beaver last yr and the right stick w tighter tension crapped out in 6months. In regards to my aim I love it and have no problem with the paddle location. Also I was unaware of the lifetime warranty for BB and im pretty sure aim offers that as well
Thanks for this review Airbear... I'm gonna order one of these. I can't wait. I really love my Aim controllers. But the custom buton placem sounds really good
Nice review man. I knew about BBC long long time ago and was looking and actually almost ordered one from them. I decided to go with AIM after your review, because of the price. BBC are by far the most expensive in the market, but probably the best. If I ordered controller I wanted it would literally cost me more then $100 CAD with the current currency exchange rate than AIM controller. Also Aim has a bit better cosmetic customization and same smart bumpers and triggers. The only concern is paddles at the back of AIM controller, but I a sure I will adapt, because I have been using Striker pack for almost 2 years now. BBC gotta really drop the price, that is why they are extremely underrated. Price speaks a lot my dude. Also AIM has a lifetime warranty and that will become a standard in this industry for sure. There is another company called CINCH controllers, that has same back button layout like BBC and smart triggers and smart bumpers as well. At the end of the day, I will brake a lot of Scuff controller owners, but in these days SCUFF SUCKS big time, with their build quality, customer service and shitty warranty. Never considered ever to get one from them, just because I am not a fool spend $200 on a controller and after 3 months throw it in the garbage. Evil Shift controllers have similar back button layout at the back as well. So the market is plenty full with different companies to build Your controller, but as I said, what speaks to you is always $$$$$$.
my previous rear button mod controllers "Imagine customs " and my friends/relatives scuffs only seem to last 3-6 months till failure of rear buttons. My first Battle beaver rear buttons lasted 14 months til failure. I bought one for a friend who loves the shit out destiny 2 and I need to effectively cover my back on black ops 3-4. I bought one more to rotate during rare repair times. Have not invested in stick tension or smart trigger. I can say I have never regretted the purchase. as an aside, You can add a strikepack controller attachment to add 2 more buttons if your button map isn't too low or inside.
Never heard of BB customs but i’ll be ordering one soon! i’m so glad i’m not the only one that hates the inside triggers on the scuf! they just aren’t usable! keep up the great reviews and btw, please stay honest! you r a minority!! Cheers!
After doing research and looking at the different options, I decided to get a Battle Beaver too. When I first got my controller, right away the audio jack did not work. When I contacted the company, it took a few days for them to get back to me and all they told me was to try and reset the controller. After about 3 months, my left quick trigger stopped clicking and felt like the trigger was stuck and there wasn't any real response. It did continue working though. I also got the tension upgrade on my thumb sticks, both sides. After a few months, the left thumb stick would push forward and cause my character to move forward which I was not trying to do. It would come and go; sometimes working just fine and other times push forward. This was really frustrating, especially when you're trying to stand in place. If you are going to order a controller, I would also recommend that you get the express build. If you don't, expect to wait a really long time. I paid roughly $150 for my controller. I will be trying an AIM controller and hope that I don't have the same problems.
Great review! Yeah, i didn't really like my wicked grips either. When i received my controller the grip was already coming off out the box lmao. The buttons for sure were weird to hit with the grip on though, and sometimes the button would get caught on it. Bought my first BattleBeaver 3 years ago, never had an issue besides wear and tear problems since i tend to press hard on my triggers and thumbsticks. Bought another BB a year ago with smart triggers, and they are soooo much better than trigger stops. The smart triggers are getting a bit loose though, but thankfully there is lifetime warranty on smart triggers so if anything happens i can just send it in. If i had to say there was a downside to BattleBeaver, it would be the build/ship times....they are absolutely atrocious sometimes. Overall, i'd recommend BattleBeaver to anyone looking for a custom controller over scuf. The back buttons imo are a more "natural" feeling when you grip the controller...though to each their own, it's whatever you find most comfortable. ofc there is always cases of getting either a Defective product or something you will never have an issue for a long time, so my no issues may not be the case with everyone. I am excited to try the new Astro C40 controller out though next month! The functionality/software looks to be dope. I have wanted to get a Vantage/Impact due to swappable thumbsticks, but hate scuf paddles and their service. The Astro C40 will have that function and more, going between xbox style placement of thumbsticks...to ps4 thumbstick placement. Astro makes some pretty durable headsets, hopefully this controller will be the same way. CAN'T WAIT!

I've been debating which pro controller to get and this basically solidified what I've been suspecting. Battle Beaver is the way to go
Finally someone is giving these guys some recognition!
@@NRTuf I haven't had a single controller, battle beaver or scuf, last longer than 3 months...
@@Kroganmerc really, so basically there all the same I’m surprised I have had my scuf for over 6 months and still going but I didn’t order digital tap triggers I heard they are prone to breaking.
I was considering it with battle beaver but again I’m also worried they would break too.
@@NRTuf I've never had any issue with the triggers, it's always the thumbsticks. They have MASSIVE drift issues
I’ve had mine for 3 years with smart bumpers and i haven’t had any problems. (Maybe smart triggers are less durable than smart bumpers?)
I've been using a Battle Beaver Customs controller for nearly 5 years now, not a single issue. It is absolutely amazing and I would recommend them over any custom controller maker on the market right now.
Appreciate it! Glad you are enjoying the controller!
Dude, lifetime build warranty? I’m sold. Finally gonna buy a custom controller and ditch the strikepack (which I bought because of your review). Just wanna say thanks for all the reviews on all the controllers. Battle Beaver here I come, peace.
Be carefull....my left thumbstick broke down within 6 months and they didn't want to repair it for free.
@@JP050 how much did they say you need to pay for a repair?

I’ve heard Dashy on optic still uses a beaver even though scuff sponsors them.

Day 1 of asking air bear to show al his controller collection
I heard about this company through a comment on a review site. Looked promising. I fully customized my dream controller and right before it hit submit I decided I needed a few more reviews to warrant the large transaction. Then I stumbled upon this video. You sold me instantly. Looking forward to my new Battle Beaver controller! Thanks, buddy!
Deafly would’ve been nice to have known about this controller before I bought my scuf impact not that I’m not happy with my impact but it would be cool to have other choices
really good review man

I really like the shape of the impact. Going back to a standard size controller feels weird.
Sameeee bro
Same for me man. If I knew about these controllers oh man I would have never bought a scuff even tho I like it.
I’ve gone through most every controller on the market. These battle beaver guys have the best thing going, right now. They are standing above everyone else with the options of 6 buttons on the back side and the smart click triggers and bumpers. What they are doing makes you wonder why all other companies arnt doing the same.
Appreciate the support!
Broo I love ur honest review videos!!! 1 like and thank for helping us to which controller u reccomend. And I like the look of it!!! And the controller clicks part it was like an asmr 😂 6:26
No joke I was hoping you’d post this video!!! And you did and I ordered it :)
Any update? How's it holding up?
I've had 2, one i manage to fix myself with spare ps4 , the joystick actuator went out, then the R1 trigger seized up. My second one now has back button (left side) not responding on every click, and it's a show stopper, as all gamers know you go to click a button and it don't work, u dead. Very expensive endeavor w/ this small shop.
@@ryen7335 I have an aim and it's quality is great, however I kind of wanna go for buttons,I feel like it would feel A TON better, opinions?
@@jorden8397 I don't know what aim is. Anyhow, I recently tested an Xbox Elite 2 and it was way better quality than the Battle Beaver. I did however experience what many people do, and the Y button randomly will fail to register. I'd say maybe 1 out of 40 clicks. Also the config software is awful, if you can even get it to work on PC. don't know about the xbox software.
Just spent $130 on a BB DualShock for fighting games.

@@Husani759 which has the best trigger? scuf, battle beaver or evil?
Great review, I've checked out their website multiple times and decided to e-mail them to see if they would be able to customize an Xbox controller that I've been in search for. I'm looking for something similar to how Razer has their "m1 and m2" buttons in between the LT and RT. Unfortunately, I haven't seen any other company who allows custom buttons like those in between the RT and LT. Also, to see if they're capable of implementing their smart triggers into buttons to give that mechanical button feedback.
Thanks for the info Air Bear been looking at different builds on all sights for a while!!! Battle Beaver looks dope.
I want a battle beaver even more now
You bought it?

Prince Vero he’s probably waiting for it to release?
@@Michelle1996a he already said he was contacted by Astro, but he was debating doing it. Im asking if he will do it when it comes out
Astro C40 tr best contoller in the market.

If you are broke I recommend the back button attachment made by sony for the ps4. It's actually pretty ergonomic, little to no latency, and tactile and easy to press buttons. I believe it's only $20 - 30 I dont remember paying much for it. Attaches to any regular ps4 controllers. And has an easy mapping system. It's all around a good deal. Ive been using mine for maybe a month now still works like when I got it. Not sure about longevity yet but for such a cheap price it is worth trying.

Just so you know, if you don't buy the boost on build time it takes FOREVER for it to show up, I think you being you helped with the build and shipping time aswell 😊 it's gonna take about another 4 or so weeks for mine to get here, I got increased tension and smart triggers, with a nice orange soft touch to go with it
Dat Cookies n Creme tho
Outside gaming I race Remote Control Cars. With my Controller, a Sanwa MT-4, I could adjust the tension of the throttle trigger and steering dial. To see someone do this in gaming is pretty awesome cause controller tension from my experience can change everything and it's an easy option to overlook.

Claw with smart bumpers and triggers with no rear buttons would change your life.
So the market is plenty full with different companies to build Your controller, but as I said, what speaks to you is always $$$$$$.
they are DOPE! and fps dominator is very good 2 !nice vids dude. quality
Because you guys have SOOO many controllers, can I have one
my previous rear button mod controllers "Imagine customs " and my friends/relatives scuffs only seem to last 3-6 months till failure of rear buttons.
I love the ugly controller. I ordered an aim controller and made it pink and purple 😝
Matt K do you like it?
I am still waiting for it to get here...
I don't know if anyone has mentioned yet, but Evil Shift also offers different tension configurations on the sticks.
by far best review this deserves sub and notis on
Never heard of BB customs but i’ll be ordering one soon! i’m so glad i’m not the only one that hates the inside triggers on the scuf! they just aren’t usable!

Cheers!
My build time is 4- 7 weeks I ordered one 4 weeks ago so I’m excited for it to eventually get here
After doing research and looking at the different options, I decided to get a Battle Beaver too.
Rob, thank you for your feedback
what controller are you using now
Great review!
CAN'T WAIT!
I like your reviews. Amazing content👍🏼
