PLITVICE, CROATIA 🇭🇷 Exploring the UPPER LAKES!!!

Up and at ‘em! Early to rise for day two at Plitvice Lakes National Park!
Paige and I were advised to wake up at 6am on our second day at Plitvice so that we could get standby tickets into the park. When we made it to the park, we were fortunate enough to get the tickets again for 5 euros each! 1:11
On day 2, we decided to tackle the Upper Lakes, and therefore we would have to complete Loop “E”. The orange trails are fore the Upper Lakes, and the green trails are for the Lower Lakes. Trail “K” is both green and orange because it is for both trails. 2:28
By getting to the park so early, and being the first to head out on the trail, we were able to experience the Park with no one else in our vicinity! Later in the day the park would be completely crowded, but we had a very unique experience by being able to take in the sights with just the two of us! 3:29
Rather than taking the bus back to Entrance 1, Paige and I decided to hop onto Trail “K” and walk back to that entrance on our way out. It was a way for us to see more of the park and take more pictures! 6:30
Midway during our journey, we discovered that the lakes had run over the trail, thus forcing us up into the woods--which turned out to be quite an effort!! It appears that when there is a heavy rainstorm in the not-so-distant past, the lakes become full, and the trails become overtaken by the excess water--but we didn’t let that stop us! 7:45
Upon successfully making it around the water and through the woods, Paige and I proceeded to the gift shop, where we picked up some magnets and shot glasses. 10:22
On the way back to the hotel, we stopped at a restaurant called Old Shatterhand where we each had an amazing lunch! The owner was very kind and provided us a free dessert! Definitely worth checking out! 10:37
