The Porsche is the better car for sure, but I'd go for the RS7. Even though it might be a bit dated, it's looks are still great in my eyes and I love the noise from that Audi V8.
Can't believe we've reached the point where the RS7 is regarded as dated. I remember when the S7 came out and how much of a statement it made. Weird how automotive technology progresses.
***** oh ya totally understandanble, the audi is behind and is outdated interior and technology wise and is due an update but exterior wise it still looks pretty nice :p I agree ... I can't wait for m5. E63 is already amazing, can't wait to see what monster bmw comes up with . Will it have a v8? Although I think these cars compete with cls63 and m6 if I am not mistaken But then again the bmw and merc are so good that even the lower tier m5 and e63 can compete with the higher tier rs7 and porshe panemera
Hasan Al-habbobi Exactly but if I had 200k My heart is for the NEW Panamera E hybrid 690hp what a monster Porsche is the only car I will spend 6 figures one
Agreed, I love the A/S/RS7 (so much that I bought an A7 BiTDi). He's not wrong about the interior though. The Panamera looks like driving around in a Bang & Olufsen stereo. It's amazing. Ironically, the RS7 seems to actually have a B&O stereo.
That's a stupid myth from the early 2000's. New Audi's are anything but understeering pigs. Especially the RS models. You clearly have zero experience with this and are talking out of your ass, just repeating what someone else equally clueless said to you.
@derbigpr500 i drove A7 before, it is understeering pigs no matter what is the setting.. dont know any about RS7.. Q5 is a lot more fun than that A7s..
Furkan Turfanda RS7 doesn't really understeer, but it does have that artificial feel that he states. If you trust it, it can make obscene numbers that embarrass many super sport cars. I would never, never own an A7. Too big a car for such low power numbers. I have a RS7 and that size of a car requires these power figures otherwise buy a Lexus to float around. You notice the steering and vector rear end when you first buy it then again when you drive a proper rear drive car. I agree the Porsche is by far a better driver car, but the RS7 equals or bests the numbers on paper.
the rs7 does have terminal understeer, but only when you're pushing its limits. At 8/10ths or less the understeer is non-existant, it does have understeer due to 2 main issues... one being the haldex system which is and always have been a front wheel drive bias system and the other is the amount of engine in front of the front tires and its almost the entire motor. that said audi did fantastic to reduce understeer with factors like these
Not really a fair comparison as the A7 design has been around since 2012. But I am very excited to see what the next gen A7/S7/RS7 will look and technology it implements.
I wish he also talked about the fact that the Panamera is down 55 horsepower which is a big disadvantage for a drag race. That means the RS7 had 10% more horsepower than the Porsche.
It would be better to use an RS7 *with* dynamic package plus to compete against the Panamera. But why you don't use the launch control in the RS7!? Its faster to start with over 2000 rpm instead of 800, right?
As a daily driver the RS7 is a much better car. The Porsche may be faster on the track or strip, but with a stiff ride, small back seat space and much smaller trunk it loses for practicality. I know people watch these videos just to see what's fastest but that does not make it a better car.
Good video, thanks. I'm convinced Audi is run by marketeers and accountants with a desire to make as much money as possible. On the other hand Porsche has a main objective of making great cars, the money rolls in thereafter. I know which I prefer and it's not all about absolute straight line performance! I'd take the Porsche anyday. cheers
So, you have to watch the whole video only to think the Audi won, but it turns out, the porsche actually won? Hmm, I think our narrator/host was disappointed. Thats why it took to the last 2 seconds of the video to get that. BTW, I have a 2013 970 turbo, same extremely simple to operate launch control as the 2017 turbo. They need to fire the porsche driver for not figuring it out. Porsche designed the easiest launch control out there; select sport +, de-activate traction control. Hit the break. Push the accelerator to the floor. It will hold at 5,000 RPM, the “light” will go on letting you know you can launch.
Surprised the trap speed was so slow on both cars. He said he lifted, but the Panamera only trapped at 99mph. I wonder what the conditions were. My tuned A6 ran a 12.6 @ 109mph
I couldn't disagree more with the reviewer. I don't know if there is any difference with the U.K. Version. It the US spec RS7 has excellent steering and the ride is phenomenal. You turn the wheel and it goes the direction you point it.
A lot of people want to have the feel you get in a Ferrari, or even an M3, but the fact is Audi's have always have the effortless steering. I've gotten an RS7 up to 140 and while you might not get the feedback that you would in an M3 or 911, you steering is still on point. I prefer vehicles that if I turn the wheel even a smidge one direction the car is going that direction. That is how the RS 7 behaves. You get the same performance in the S3, S4, and S6 also. I've never driven and RS5, but I've heard it's the same also. Listening to him talk about that RS 7 it's like he was talking about a completely different car than what I am familiar with.
Gordon Williams the difference is the that British mainstream reviewers still don't like Audi very much and reel out the cliche comments about the brand at any opportunity. No Brit review is compete without some reference to "feel for the road" and I swear to god, I don't think any of them have a goddam clue what they're talking about.
So, another fast Audi that you can't drive fast - no change there then. All they need to do is move the front wheels further forward and leave everything else as is - and the result: the Porsche Panamera! This does raise the point that the RS7 is pointless.
Bill Dexhart lol please choose the Maserati or the xjr because they are both overpriced and unreliable, oh did I mention the extreme depreciation on those? No one with extensive knowledge about cars would spend that money on those cars.
Why did you have an old aged pensioner driving the Porsche at the drag strip? If you're going to compare two cars, put competent drivers in both motors. Consider a driver swap to even out any skill differences. This way you really do compare the cars, not the drivers. The granny in the Porsche was napping whilst you had the hammer down.
New cars have no passion anymore. First it was the removable of manual box now their just throwing more power into the car and shipping them out. Emotionally dead overpowered cars. Older cars will forever be better driving.
the problem for me is the panamera will always look like a squashed frog... great engineering but just a stretched 911 no true styling or identity of its own
Volkswagen AG owns a lot of car companies, they aren't all made in the same factory, and they don't really share parts. Of course some do, but just because they are both owned by the same auto group does not mean they are even remotely the same car.
*Skips the light by almost a second* "I think i might have gotten a better start"
Skip to 12:08. The Panamera did the 1/4 in 11.4 and the RS7 in 11.7. My question is, who's the noob driving the Panamera in the beginning. My God!
The panamera is way faster than the Audi . That guy don’t know how to drive that legendary machine.
You will definitely enjoy that numb and vagua steering lol.
Agreed.
Cars are not about statements. That is what is the wrong with audi and most of the industry right now. All you guys want is a status symbol.
Audi is a status symbol and the Porsche isn't?
Such badass cars, you can't go wrong with either!
***** oh ya totally understandanble, the audi is behind and is outdated interior and technology wise and is due an update but exterior wise it still looks pretty nice :p

***** Nice :D
When will it come out?
Hasan Al-habbobi Exactly but if I had 200k My heart is for the NEW Panamera E hybrid 690hp what a monster Porsche is the only car I will spend 6 figures one
They clearly invited my grandmother to drag the Porsche. She did well for her age.
Nik Brudar I see u on almost every VID i watch
xd
My god, this is not a fair fight, it is clear that the Porsche driver is not doing this right, you have to do this with the same driver
How you gonna be saying the Panamera got the quicker time without showing a single victory for the Panamera.. :/
Jesus, how bad was the Porsche driver on the drag strip?
Honeslty who ever says the RS7 is dated on the outside he is fucking blind, its superb looking
Julian J imo better looking than the Porsche.... Any Porsche
Typical Audi driver, jumping the lights :P
lapamful 😂😂😂
lapamful Hmmmmm
We all know which is the better car so jump to around 9:30 for the drag race.
Good analytical review! Keep those videos coming!
Sorry but Audi RS7 performance is just faster. In a test RS7 did 1/4 mile in 11.2 sec.
Yeah "you have done it again" jumping the light that is hahahahahha
Two German legends
I can't decide. I'll take both ⚡️❤️✌🏿️👌🏿
I love my Panamera 4 and have no regreats, such a perfect vehicle and Practical too
Unfair comparison (drag race wise) because you should've brought the Turbo S. A part from that good video (car pros and cons) liked it!
The Audi RS7 is an understeering pig, a damn good looking one though. It's a nice GT car for 7/10ths driving.
The Panamera is an actual sports sedan.
That's a stupid myth from the early 2000's. New Audi's are anything but understeering pigs. Especially the RS models. You clearly have zero experience with this and are talking out of your ass, just repeating what someone else equally clueless said to you.

Furkan Turfanda Well the Panamera Turbo Lap time don't lie 7:32 on the Nurburgring

How about you switch cars and let that garbage driver take a spin in the RS7?
Guys got to 12:18. You can hear the real results. Porsche actually won the race. It was an idiot driver who couldn't launch the car properly.
Awesome Vid👌
Both cars are insanely good but I choose the RS7 over any other car
Doesn't the RS7 have steel not iron brakes
Kal o rly bro?
Kal actually the performance version comes with ceramic brakes
when will the new gen rs7 be out? will it get a double clutch trans?
I wish he also talked about the fact that the Panamera is down 55 horsepower which is a big disadvantage for a drag race. That means the RS7 had 10% more horsepower than the Porsche.
I've missed the M6 GranCoupe. Although it's a bit dated it still an awesome engineering accomplishment from BMW
You should have done a couple of runs switching drivers.
Another excellent review.
Redo this comparison review once the new gen RS7 is out. That way both cars are equally freshly redsigned to make it fair.
It would be better to use an RS7 *with* dynamic package plus to compete against the Panamera.

rodge911 Have you ever been in a Panamera?
Audi Sponsor > Jump the start. Panamera Turbo S would have creamed you
Two tonnes or tons? Metric or imperial?
david dykeman not sure on the spelling, but 1t = 1000kg
Good video, thanks. I'm convinced Audi is run by marketeers and accountants with a desire to make as much money as possible. Nice try but no. Porsche nickels and dimes the shit out of its customers. Want a rear view camera? That'll be 5000 dollars sir.
jumped every single time and have the audacity to claim himself being faster
So, you have to watch the whole video only to think the Audi won, but it turns out, the porsche actually won? Hmm, I think our narrator/host was disappointed. Are these two cars even in the same class?
Is this a regular thing that drag strips say you're NOT ALLOWED to go faster than a certain time?????
Surprised the trap speed was so slow on both cars. He said he lifted, but the Panamera only trapped at 99mph. I wonder what the conditions were. My tuned A6 ran a 12.6 @ 109mph
should be testing the turbo s hybrid
I've run down that strip, how many people can say that? :)
Also you should have given the porker & head start then tried to reel him in!
Wait for the s-e hybrid
So did the audi catch the hotrod in the end of that handicap run!?
It's impressive what great cars you can build with dirty diesel money, especially when EU states don't sanction you at all!
if we could do a fusion about the exterior of Audi rs7 with interior of panamera it would be the best car of all time!
Matt looks like SeenThroughGlass.....except _with_ hair...
Idiot of a chromer, the fucker.
mercedes E63 AMG s wagon is faster & more practical than both + more fun :P
Faster and more practical - yes. More fun? No.
I am fine with my future 2018 toyota camry. Goes 0-60 in 5 seconds.
Ulugbek Musinov lol
apmbus It's affordable, and reliable. In NYC speed limit is 25 so won't make much diffirence.
my prius is better
Brian Sadly I am a part time cab driver in NYC.
you don't need to over compensate for it.. no one asked.
Asleep at the wheel in the Porsche. Missed take off every time. Sad bit of driving.
That e46 m3 😱😱😱😱
he said the porsche did 11.4? where ? i didnt see it i watched the whole video...
British review: Pretty Good
They probably have the same engine just tweaked a little different.
8:44 i'll take that nissan leaf thanks
Did he just say the car is 5 meters long at 2.57 ???????
I couldn't disagree more with the reviewer. I don't know if there is any difference with the U.K. Version. It the US spec RS7 has excellent steering and the ride is phenomenal. You turn the wheel and it goes the direction you point it.
Maybe the Performance has dynamic steering which I've heard is quite numb and disconcerting when driving at speed.

Ah, VW vs VW ,... this should be interesting!
Stf noob

You are comparing the wrong car with the Porsche. You should have gotten an Audi S8.
this wasn't fair i guess
He didn’t use launch control on the Porsche
both are great cars. ..but I'l wait for CLS 4matics+
Paul Stefan no shit
Paul Stefan let's hope they don't make it ugly
WTF, did you hire your grandmother to drive the Porsche? That was a shit race.
I like the panamera
Ok - that was confusing!!
The dude in that Porsche doesn’t know how to drive it!
what was that for a lame drag race?!
Porsche all day
You should have switched car. Then we will see how good you are.
EX AUDI DO EDUKOF VS PANAMERA DO EDU
I'd have a Quattroporte (or maybe an XJR) instead.
Although I know these are better cars, I like a bit more character in a car.
Bill Dexhart lol please choose the Maserati or the xjr because they are both overpriced and unreliable, oh did I mention the extreme depreciation on those? No one with extensive knowledge about cars would spend that money on those cars.
That Audi is such an engineering achievement, i mean, they must have worked like mad men to make 600bhp that BORING!! ;-)
Max Torque probably a lot more exciting than what you drive
im a audi fan but the panamera is better car, its all new gen and double clutch transmission.
Annoying guy in Audi jumping the light while the guy in the Porsche is asleep and obviously doesn't know how to launch that thing.
me drive audi a2. good car :)
Don't look at the camera when you are driving.
"Have a degree of" lower the steering wheel!!!
to stiff in dynamic mode it's a rs7 that's what you want ridgid ridgid ridgid..........unreal the way so called car reviewers say this
Robert Whitfield too stiff in dynamic and too comfortable in comfort mode XD... And too fast when you use all the power XD
Well obviously this reviewer is a noob
Why did you have an old aged pensioner driving the Porsche at the drag strip? If you're going to compare two cars, put competent drivers in both motors. RS7 ftw lol
Panamera!!!
What's the difference between an Audi and a hedgehog. ? A hedgehog has its pricks on the outside. !!!
New cars have no passion anymore. First it was the removable of manual box now their just throwing more power into the car and shipping them out. Emotionally dead overpowered cars. Older cars will forever be better driving.
Does the driver in the Porsche know what he's doing?
Great review, but this guy talks to much. Also we need more interior and exterior shots with some good theme music.
Cheers.
Audi won the race ! How come Porsche is fastest ?
How the hell did audi lose???
Audi's are on the whole for people who enjoy nice cars, but not the process of driving. They buy it like a fancy coffee machine
How pathetic was that drag race??? Seriously??
one of the most unprofessional reviews on you tube.
Oh my gosh, this Porsche driver, please drive only Bike!
the problem for me is the panamera will always look like a squashed frog... great engineering but just a stretched 911 no true styling or identity of its own
audi cheap staff porsche quality but to peoples eyes is the same because they look at exhaust sound from audi
u jumped light everytime bcz that's why Audi can only win
Audi rs7 is beter and beter and beter than the porche panamera new. Is beter and beter and beter
You guys should have swapped cars to see what would happen that Porsche guy makes me mad
If VW makes both of this cars then what is the point of this review
VW owns their respective companies, but these two are drastically different cars by different manufacturers.
so your point makes impossible to compare almost any car coming from germany
Volkswagen AG owns a lot of car companies, they aren't all made in the same factory, and they don't really share parts. Of course some do, but just because they are both owned by the same auto group does not mean they are even remotely the same car.
ThePineAppleBurster 44 your mother and father should have never have had you you are a crack baby you Bitch
