I agree Kayla, my book room has been so overwhelming. I keep telling my husband that i wish it was half the size. But I still want a door. 🤣😭 A Nook where the toddler couldn’t interrupt would be ideal. 👸🏽
In totally unrelated news, your hair is beautiful.😍 And Amazon got me the last two weeks - they had buy 2, get the 3rd free. And I bought nine. So glad this is a safe space. 😉
If it’s not a genre you typically read I recommend starting with The House of Eve by Sadeqa Johnson. It’s not super heavy or long and it’s a great story. 🥰
I haven’t read arcs in so long . I need to get to them I have a couple I need to get too . I gottttta get into historical fiction !!!! The dirty Diana cover is sooooo pretty 😊
I have a love hate relationship with ARCs. Part of me enjoys reading books before hearing other peoples opinions. The other part of me has so many books to read already I should just focus on my TBR 🤦🏾♀️
👸🏽The last book I read put me in a reading slump that I’m still trying to claw my way out of. So I’m going back to my roots with a Harlequin romance book and hopefully that helps me get back on track.
The Queens Spade sounds soooo good! Is it told on 1st or 3rd person? 🤔 I love anything Alice Feeney and can’t wait to get my hands on her new one. I have to get up on these ARCs I’m slippin’ out here LOL Instantly started singing Micheal Jackson when you talked about Dirty Diana🤣 Great vlog per usual sis🩷👸🏽
@ Oh I’m for sure going to be looking out for that release then. 1st is just so much easier for me when it’s a genre that’s not my go-to you know? Thanks girl 😉
I need to make a video for this!! But right off the top I would say 1. Yellow Wife 2. The House of Eve (both by Sadeqa Johnson) 3. Family (by J California Cooper) 4. The Vanishing Half (by Brit Bennett) 5. Red at the Bone (by Jacqueline Woodson) 🤗 Thanks for this question! Going to have to make a designated video of my top 10
@KaylasBookishVibes I finished Island Queen in November. It was good. Her books are thick, but the chapters are short & there's plenty of drama, so it goes fast. Queen of Exiles is on my list to read.
👸🏾👸🏾 The Queen’s Spade sounds soooo good!
Rock Paper Scissors by Alice Fenney is good. Very twisty. I'll have to check out the one you suggested.

That would be the perfect space 🥰

Hi Kayla! I love your festive bows on your bookshelves :) it's like they are such a present to you!
Thank you! 🤗 They really are. My younger self would be so happy looking at all the books we could choose from 🥰
Love the sweatshirts that you wore! Where did you get them? Plus your book nook area is cute with the bows ❤👸🏾
thank you! 🥰 and my sweatshirts were from temu 🤗

thank you 🥰 and i totally missed that sale 😩
👸🏿...Hmmm I might have to dip my toe into historical fiction. Not sure if it'll be my jam but I'll have to give it a try.
You should try Vanessa Riley's books. She writes historical fiction with a hint of romance. I just finished Island Queen & it was good.
@TriceyReads Thanks for the recommendation!! I will check her out!

I’m so glad! It’s one of my favorites 🥰
I never noticed dollar tree sells books 😬😩 I will check it out next time I’m there. Thanks Kayla 🤎👸🏾
my dollar tree is usually cleared out when I go in but every once in a while I find something. 🤗
Saving the date Jan14th! 👸🏾 🫶🏽📚 I’ve got to into becoming an arc reader☺️
have you tried Netgalley? super easy to use but be careful it’s easy to over request books 😅
Books for $1.25?! Omggg that’s such a great deal! 👸🏾✨🫶🏽
Right?! Can’t beat that price 😊
Next year I plan to read different genres and historical fiction is one of them on my list. I’ve been writing down all the books you suggest 👸🏾
I think you will really enjoy the genre 🥰

Started reading Hathor and the Prince this week! Been having a good time, loved Verity’s book!
Really enjoyed this series! Glad you are too 🤗

A good break from reading always helps me reset when i’m in a slump.
I read The Other Princess and I really enjoyed it.
👀 Not Dezmond Z…commenting on ME 🤣 (you have to sing that) I’ll push it to the top 🥰
now why did I automatically start singing it 😭😭
👸🏾👸🏾👸🏾
👸🏽👸🏽🤗
🥰🤗
I have read alice feeny books( i have enjoyed them) and resisted ordering that book because her books always come up under KU.
Hopefully I like this one! If so i’ll have to check out her back log on my kindle. 🤗

👸🏾 You may like Vanessa Riley's books. She writes historical fiction about black women & their lives.
I agree! Vanessa Riley’s books are good. She also has a few Regency era mystery novels that are pretty good.
@yaszit2210 I love mysteries. Thanks for letting me know! I'll look for those on my next library trip.
I actually have Island Queen and Queen of Exiles by her, they are pretty thick though so I haven’t read them yet 😅🤭
