Blessings to you from Fort Worth, Texas. I'm encouraged to see someone from Nigeria that appreciates this channel. Perhaps, you have more Christians seeking truth in your country. Ithan here n the U.S., Most churches here cater to making people feel good about the here and now and not preparing for the hereafter.

The thing that makes many Denominations is the variety of cultures mixed with an extended period of time. A good example of this is are the Orthodox Christians that from the very start all agreed upon the main things that were latter cannon Scripture, but since we are talking about those first churches that had a lot of distance between each other, from let's say south Europe to Africa and the Middle East, the variations of ways to worship God were apparent from the very start, it was very similar how people did worship in Egypt in comparison to Greece, but it wasn't exactly the same and the people from different places focused more on different things and thus different schools began to take place so you could see differences in what people put emphasis on both in writing and in other forms of art.
Some differences that made more Denominations in the past are actually now known to be just semantics since the theological definitions are basically talking about the same things but in a different way and there is also this example of the Armenian Church not being present at the Council of Chalcedon in 451, not because they didn't want to be there but because their country was in a huge war and their priests were simply unable to attend, but because of them not being there the Armenian Church was included among the Oriental Orthodox Churches.
So the strength of Christianity is actually in its variety, where genuine love for God is being expressed in authentic ways, choirs might look and sound similar but they won't be exactly the same.

My view on this matter is this: Satan is behind the divisions in our faith that causes the denominations. Sorta like a game show now where we have to pick what door the prize is hiding behind. A way to send as many of us off track from the true way to worship serve and follow the Lord Jesus's precepts for a good life and afterlife. I follow Born again-Christianity. Seems the most down to Earth, common sense, rational approach to following Jesus as intended.

General MacArthur sends out a message to the troops: "Volunteers are to board the USS Victory for the first wave into Manila. Be armed up and ready to take the beachhead at 6AM."
A bunch of volunteers get on the ship. While preparing for the landing, soldiers interpret the orders differently. Some soldiers grab rifles. Others grab machine guns. A number grab SMGs. A crew grabs the tank. A few start asking if 6AM means today or tomorrow. One guy even thinks the order has a typo and it's actually 6PM, not 6AM. Some start arguing that Manila doesn't have a beach and they're obviously going to be docking at a pier.
In this story, does General MacArthur exist?
Who is going to be storming Manila in the first wave?

There are divisions and denominations because it is a work of the flesh to divide the Body of Christ. And too many believers through the centuries have been defeated by
living out these "works of the flesh." Galatians 5:19 - "And the works of the flesh are manifest, which are such things as fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, factions, divisions, sects, . . ." [FACTIONS, DIVISIONS, SECTS] = denominations.

Please explain something: why are the reports of Jesus’s arrest different? If 1 report says the suspect peaceful surrendered uneventfully but the other says the suspect’s friend attacked the officer with a sword and cut off his ear….. those are 2 very different arrests. Why didn’t the other report mention the officer getting his eat cut off? That’s a big deal to leave out.

Same account recorded at different times, the 2nd was after the ear was healed by Jesus, Luke 22:49-51 John 18:10-15 Matthew 26:51-55.

One Lord one baptism. If you are not one you are not mine. Preaching for money is the evil Paul decried. This is why so many denominations. His explanation rings hollow. Pray to God and he will lead to truth. ❤

Yes, humans, through the sin of pride, will bicker and separate over many things. This includes the Christian faith, I can agree with that.
I have come to believe over the years that if we are all truly being guided by the Holy Spirit, then there would be a uniformity of belief, faith, and practice.
Denominationalism is in its own way, is the sin of human pride. And the teaching of Sola Scriptura, which in actual practice seems to work out to Me, the Bible, and Jesus. Is a big cause.
Remember, Jesus did not promise us a Bible. He said He would build His CHURCH, not churches!
It seems to me it behooves each of us to find where that Church is, and join ourselves to it, and be taught by it.

I think you missed the whole point of the video. We are one in Christ. It’s prideful if you think Catholicism is the only way.

NO thanks. Unity is possible through the Spirit of God. God is building his Kingdom HIS way. Not the Protestant way, not the Catholic way, not the Orthodox way. His Kingdom is not of this world.

if u read the church fathers u will see which one is correct and that is the Orthodox Church that traces itself to the Apostles. protestants broke off of that line and started splitting amongst itself 1000s of times due to disagreements and peoples own interpretations of scripture and feeling like they need to start a church.
God is not the author of confusion and he made one church🙏🏽☦️
if everyone went back to the history of the church we would be one again. but majority of Protestants ignore church history and try to say they are more correct than the ones who came before them. so u have arrogance giving birth to new churches everyday and causing more denominations.
      I blame Martin Luther

The real reason for all the Denominations is because they all teach a different mixture of faith plus works equals salvation nonsense.
Free grace is the only true gospel.

    • @BillTony2
      @BillTony2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

You make a good point but I am going to go a step further. I believe that the heart of the issue is that virtually no church that I've ever run into encourages people to read the entire Bible verse by verse again and again. This is a problem because we need to be able to reason with each other out the scripture in context. We can all be wrong about scripture at times but without humility, we will not be open to looking at scripture in context again and again which can transform or renew our minds.
I would encourage people to go through the Bible 3 or 4 times before getting too engrossed in anybody's commentaries. We all need hard-copy Bibles in case the internet is shutdown but I advocate for going through the Bible on a tablet or computer because if there's a verse that we have a question about, I have found that by simply tapping a button and looking at five or six translations I can get a lot of clarity right away. If I still have questions after that, I simply file the question away in my mind for the Lord to give me more clarity as I continue to go through the scriptures again and again.
