Last year was my first ACNH bday party so I didn't know about the party...I wasn't expecting much for turning 30, I was actually super depressed going into it because it was a milestone birthday I was dreading for the past 2 years now...and then having money issues on top of it made it even harder because I knew I wasn't doing anything special for it. Then I log into ACNH first thing that morning just to see my BFF Piper take me to my surprise bday party....and I cried.
Maybe it's sad or pathetic...but I'm a mom of 4 kiddos who had a rough year last year and when it came to be birthday I wasn't expecting anything special, not from my family, my husband, my kiddos (they're too little to do anything independently for me), etc...and even in ACNH I was only expecting maybe birthday wishes from the villagers and some sort of promo from Nintendo in my messages or something, you know? But to be surprised with this thoughtful and fun little birthday party from my favorite villagers when I was expecting nothing all day...yep, I cried, it made my whole birthday better for me. I'm still tearing up thinking about it. Plus all of the various birthday wishes I got from my friends on social media AND a surprise gift I got from a discord from was really sweet too~ but my little villagers turned my whole mood around for that day~

If you're playing on the first of January, for example, it starts at 1/1. 2/1 if you're on the second, etc. I don't know.
