This was a sad story, beautifully told with amazing animation! I just lost my grandpa to Alzheimer, and this story really touched me! At some point I also came to the conclusion that in the end, it's best to let go, just like the protagonist realized. He stayed with his loved one till the end and gave them a last moment of peace and solace. Thank you for this, it is an amazing piece of art, and I can see a lot of love put into it. I love the detail at the end, where you can see the mountains with faces.
The last time I told my granddad "I love you," he didn't know who I was and he could barely hold his head up. But he still felt a little better for hearing it, I think.
Less than six months before dementia claimed my grandfather, he was unshaven for the first time in my life, which in itself was a clear sign the end was near. He had no clue about, or showed interest in the family gathered to celebrate his birthday. He was strapped into a chair because he could hardly sit up unassisted and it broke my heart to see a man I spent my childhood in fear and loving awe of, reduced to an empty shell. But he remembered me. Despite flaming orange hair and whatvelse we got, he whispered my name as I leaned in to hug him. My given name, not the one I changed to, 20 years ago. That was the last time I saw him alive and even though I'll never forget him like he was at the end, it doesn't take away how I'll always remember him. Some one further down mentioned, that the forget-me-not is the offical flower of the Alzheimer's Awareness Association. This knowledge, gathered after watching the video, makes for an even stronger message. My best wishes to you Raa

Oh my heart, this was so touching! I could feel the old man's pain when he thought he lost his dear friend. The ending was beautiful, it looked like the rock gaint became the peak of a hill/mountain. And all the surrounding mountains had faces so maybe that was his family? Either way it was nice for the old man to leave a small part of the friendship the two had and be there in his friends final moments. Excellent work!

We pretend to be okay but somewhere in us, we die. However we do not have any control over nature. Many of our loved ones become part of the earth like the rock monster did. This is how it all works and this is how the world becomes beautifully strange for the generations to come who can see faces of mountains which hide big stories🙃

At the end, when you see the two of them on top of that hill/mountain, you can see that all the other mountains nearby have faces in them. I think that in the end, the troll turns into another mountain

I just skimmed through this, I like the character design and the animation style. The frame by frame style is both touching and endearing, it makes you feel for every moment. A bit more could have been done with lighting and color.

So by reading a few comments I thought that the giant represents the old man's last memories of himself... Like he was the last thing to forget along with others (see the faces of the other mountains).. And getting to the peak seems like letting the last spec of all of what compose himself go...
I didn't get the deepness of their relationship, like everyone else seemed to. But it was nicely done. I love the snore and the flower at 7:14, though!
