    Hey! Future Tiptoe here. Boy, this is an old video. Thanks for checking out these videos! If you'd like to keep up on TH-cam Community info, I'll be posting extra bits of info here in the future: th-cam.com/users/TiptoeTheTankcommunity
    As of this post, this is a relatively young channel. I've only really been around since the end of 2020. I hope to be around for the foreseeable future; I'm excited to watch this little passion project grow. More info and content will come with time! Thank you for being here so early in the game. PEACE!

    Holy hell these are the best lore videos ive found for Amnesia by a long shot. Deserves way more views.
    Vary happy to see The Dark Descents lore explained now with the gaps that Rebirth fills. Amazing video.

    Just finished the game and couldn't quite put all the information together by myself. This video was very helpful and extremely interesting to watch. You're really impressive in storytelling.

    While I don't mind this ending, I prefer the implications from the other good ending where Daniel kills Alexander by ruining the pillars and The Shadow seems happy with this decision and forgives him by allowing Daniel to leave the castle as a free man. I liked to read Daniel's relationship with the Shadow as one of almost Master/Servant? The Shadow/Orb seemed to have chosen Daniel there in Africa to save for whatever reason and the deaths at followed him in England were people who were "getting in the way" of the Shadow trying to connect with Daniel. (Like Dr. Tate, who gave Daniel sleeping pills when the Shawdow seemed to want to contact him via his dreams) Its almost as if the game was actually about the Shadow pushing Daniel to redeem himself, it pushed him through the castle to defeat Alexander who was exploiting the Orbs. I think that's why the Shadow kills Daniel in the Agrippa ending, because the Shadow didn't want Daniel to do that, it was just another exploit of the power that didn't belong to them. The Shadow was who you needed to make "happy."
    Of course, with this reading you have to believe Daniel can be redeemed and allowed to walk free after what he has done, but I think the character of the Shadow very interesting.

      I agree with this because both Alexander and Agrippa want to use the orbs to return home Daniel doesn't want anything to do with the orbs he wants Alexander to pay for what he's done to Daniel and it makes more sense why Daniel delved into the inner sanctum so quickly it wasn't Daniel carrying thw shadow it was carrying him.

      @@Lord-Nevahlus We really could say the actual protagonist of this game is The Shadow. Daniel was just it’s (unwilling) vessel to stop those who kept exploring the Orbs.

      The shadow also cured Daniel anytime he got mortally injuried by the gatherers. Meaning that in the entire game the shadow was actually protecting Daniel, curing him, and killing some of the monsters. I don't know what exactly were the intentions for the entity to do all of this, but i can say that Daniel can be considered some sort of "Chosen one". (Ah, forgot to mention that the Shadow also protected Daniel when the ship he was in sank in the ocean.)

      @@arandomguy6114 So that'll mean the canon ending is the Revenge ending.

    • @arandomguy6114
      @arandomguy6114 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Probably. Agrippa must have been a variable that the shadow did not predict on it's plan. Idk, personally i always thought that the revenge ending was the true canon. Because Daniel was too hellbent on killing Alexander to suddenly let him escape, or save someone else he never knew existed. I think the Agrippa ending, and the Bad ending were just "What if..." endings. But i might be wrong.

    So apparently I didn’t end the story correctly(?) I tipped over all of the pillars in the end and shut down the process. Does this alter the interpretation at all?

      Hi there! If memory servers, the games are disconnected enough that it doesn't *really* matter what ending you get. There's the debate of how it connects to 'A Machine For Pigs', but Daniel, Agrippa, and Alexander's fate don't directly tie into later stories/lore heavily.
      At least from what I recall! It's been a while since I thought about the Amnesia stories. It might be time for me to replay them!

    Ok... why does everyone call him Weyer like you would in English. Not only does it sound German and therefore would be pronounced Vayer, but even Agrippa literally says his name.
