Process Builder to Update Opportunity based on Account Status Update | By Rajesh Chatterjee
In the previous article/video, we discussed process builder in detail. Let us now learn how to set up a process builder in Salesforce.
Let us understand the business requirement and then build a process builder for it.
A business uses account object to capture the details of its customers. As we know, the account object is a parent object and has opportunity as the child object. One account can have multiple opportunities. The business wants to create a picklist field status in the account object that either of the two values- Closed won or Closed lost. Opportunity object has a picklist field called stage.
The business wants to update the stage of all opportunity records to Closed Won when the status of the account record is updated to Closed Won. Similarly, it wants to update the stage of all opportunity records to Closed Lost when the status of the account record is updated to Closed Lost.
Let us set up a process builder to automate the above requirement of the business.
Before setting up the process builder, create a picklist field Status in the account object with two values- Won and Lost.
