Nissan has really improved their crossover, I am happier about the interior improvements as that's one area I always felt the Qashqai is falling behind despite its exterior charm but now it has got both.
They all have the same 1.3 Turbocharged petrol engine pushing out up to 110kw/250nm, however in the base spec it is low-powered at 96kw/240nm as it is the only variant that comes on manual, and others come with CVT.
More details will be shared once we get it on test and live with it for a while.
It comes standard with a 3-year/90 000km at 15 000km service intervals and a 6-year/150 000km.

Anyway, I think if you check who this car was pitched to initially - dare I say this - mommy drivers between ages 35 to about 50 so I think it’s probably reason for omitting the sun roof as they don’t care much of that but more on looks and space which this thing has loads of appeal.
At this price point I believe if they started upgrading lights interior to led lights ambient lighting etc the price will be breaching the competitive side and the product might not sell well.
The engine seems powerful but cvt is a no Mann if only there was manual on top spec or dct kind of box.
Having spent so much time seeing reviews like yours and many other peoples, I don’t know if I would spend over R500k for this though, here’s why:
If you take your R500k and stay in the brand, you can get a Nissan xtrail preowned with super low mileage or demo for like wayyy less (until new one arrives soon) if it hasn’t already and the top spec on that has nice powertrain plus comes with sunroof 🤷🏾♂️ then also don’t forget there is all wheel drive there and drive modes for off-road so your xtrail is more of a all rounder versus this qashqai
Question is, who will buy the new one this time with the upgrades because I haven’t seen one guy driving one yet 😅😅
It’s competition is the chery and gwm brands and we all know pricing and spec there is out of this world😮👌🏽

Hehe, You know I play similar style on most videos (See why I put playlists in the description, incase someone wants the music, I am sure if you take the walkaround videos and put down the playlist you will come up with a good list 😁). You have a goof point on the sunroof, I remember when we looked for a car my wife just wanted leather and space thinking about the kid, the rest she did not care, from performance to lights, she just did not care. I think the price is not entirely bad until you bring Chinese into the equation then things start going South. Just next door its the Sportage which is priced more than this one, Tucson as well. They are now around R700(s) and China is causing problems for them! 110kw/250nm is amazing at VW and Audi, but I realised that it's different in other brands, I can only hope that Nissan got it right, will surely test it soon. You know Chery made me change my mind on CVT and it's the only one so far that takes the cup for me, I can't only wait and wonder if this can surpass or be as good as the Chery CVT
Nice one from Nissan, I wonder how will it fare with the new kia sportage...but it still looks good, I just wish it had a panoramic sunroof, that's seems to be refreshing and airy in most cars, I think that's a missed opportunity...🙏
Eish Demtumza I can't explain how they left the Sunroof out, I mean, that's so attractive even on cars that are not attractive. This needed a panoramic sunroof to complete the roof, maybe they might bring it on the e-power🤔

Madness with that price
I doubt it, the market presents mad prices, so to focus only on it will not be fair. Check Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson, BMW X1, Mercedes GLA, Volvo XC40, etc.
@@sebuwamIndeed...the price starts to make sense if you consider the competition, the car is highly specced and full of safety features, unless of course if you consider the Chinese, but other than that it is fairly priced.
@@demtumza Yep, we have to consider the segment it's competing in, gone are the days of this or that brand, they all come with tech that is matching and even surpassing the premium brands' base specs but they are priced below those.
