    I am actually quite shocked that the play testers didn't rate this racquet so well.
    Play tested this at Tennis Only, I have to say I really like this racquet.
    I have tried the following
    Wilson Burn
    Wilson Ultra
    Wilson Clash
    Wilson Blade v7
    Wilson Pro Staff 97
    Babolat Pure Aero
    Head Extreme MP
    Yonex Ezone100
    Of all the Racquets Burn, Ultra and Instinct all rated so well and I think this one might be my clear winner!

    I don't get why the Instinct doesn't get hype like the other big tweener lines. The specs are good. It performs well. I don't like the cosmetics, but that's nothing unique. It's basically a Pure Drive with a bit more consistency and flex. That's a good thing in my book.
    IMO Wilson makes the worst tweeners.

    Wanted to come back and thank you for the great review. I'm relatively new to tennis but I play alot of other sports. Lets call it capable when it comes to sports. I'm 5'10" 197lbs. Sharing this because I made the mistake of purchasing a beginner racquet. A light oversized head that came at a price point, that was strung off the rack. TERRIBLE! I got it restrung at it's max tension indicated on the frame 55lbs was it? Made a little bit of a difference. As a beginner you have to ask... is it your technique or is it the racket. Found this Head Graphene 360 Instinct MP racket on sale for $70 U.S. and checked your review. Liked the specs like weight, liked the price and got it strung at 57lbs. What a difference. I can actually apply the fundamentals properly now because the racket has some substance. I would recommend this racket if you can still find it. Entry level price now but not an entry level racket. AND A HUGE Thank you! for the review Tennis Warehouse. Really made a difference to this tennis noob.

    Can you compare this , 360 Speed MP and Ultra 100 CV?

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Jay Nainani,
      This one is comparable to the Wilson Ultra 100 CV, but we found the Ultra 100 CV to be more stable, and have a bit bigger sweet-spot. The 360 Speed MP has better control, and we found a more predictable response compared to the other two.

    Hi Tennis Warehouse,
    Im so curious and have some questions on the racquet. I’m demoing the Instinct, Head Gravity, Prince Phantom and Wilson RF Autograph black and white and I only chose the Instinct as my 4th racquet to demo because I’m a fan of Maria and wanted to just have fun with her racquet, and it surprised me and was the best out of all of them. I have a really big c shape and take back, I suppose a bit like Georges or Kvitova but not as flat, that benefited me currently using the Wilson RF Autograph all black version. But I was wondering how much lead tape would I have to add to get more swingweight without comprising them power. Also wondering what string tension I should string it at to achieve control without comprising power. This racquet is heavily underrated and can really hit powerful through the court but I feel like I can improve it, would you know any thing that Maria adds to her racquet to make it the powerhouse it is today?
    It would be much appreciated, thanks

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could try adding some weight to the head of the racquet to increase the swingweight, which will also increase the potential power of the racquet. Maybe start with a few inches of lead or tungsten tape at 10 and 2 o'clock of the hoop. For more info on adding weight see this article: www.tennis-warehouse.com/LC/customize.html. We preferred this Instinct MP strung with a poly like Head Lynx Edge, at about 52 pounds, but a hybrid might be a good idea, if you don't break strings often. Something like Wilson Control Duo is a great option for a hybrid. Troy, TW

    I miss the original concept of the instinct dating back to the liquid metal days...the 18x19...back in the day, it was an excellent “pure drive” type racquet with a denser string pattern suitable for flat hitters..

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @ARZ1987,
      If you were a fan of some of the older generations of the Instinct (18x19 pattern), then the Head Graphene 360 Speed Pro could be a good option for you. It has an 18x20 pattern, but the string spacing is relatively open, and we enjoyed the overall performance of that racquet when we reviewed it. I would also consider the Prince Textreme Tour 100P, and Babolat Pure Strike 98 18x20.

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Sarah Talebzadeh,
      The Blade 98 16x19 CV will provide the most control. The Extreme Pro will provide the most power, and spin. The Instinct S will be the most maneuverable. Our favorite of the bunch, is likely the Extreme Pro, as it provides easy access to power and spin, without feeling overly stiff. The Blade 98 16x19 is a great choice if seeking more control. The Instinct S is likely the least favored of the three racquets, unless you want something with easy maneuverability. Troy, TW

    • @tenniswarehouse

      What are you looking for from the string? Do you have a particular string that you have liked in the past? For max control, and easy access to spin, we like the Head Lynx Tour 17 gauge. That said, some might prefer a hybrid for more of a blend of control, power, feel. And for most comfort and power, then a multi like Reflex or Velocity MLT would be a good choice. Troy, TW

    I am a NTPR 4.0 player with mostly flat strokes and a full wide swing who doesn’t tolerate very heavy racquets. I am thinking of getting this version of Head. Is this a good choice? Would you recommend me anything else within the 295-305gram range that offers decent power and control?

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This one could work for you, as it is fairly maneuverable, and has decent control. I would also consider the Head Graphene 360 Speed MP, or Head Graphene XT Speed MP both of which offer a good blend of power, and control. More control and feel oriented compared to the Instinct MP, and we currently have good prices for these on our website, especially the XT Speed MP: www.tennis-warehouse.com/Head_Graphene_XT_Speed_MP/descpageRCHEAD-GXSMPR.html. The swingweight of this Instinct MP and both Speed MP's that I recommended are all pretty similar, right around 320, but they are 10 grams lighter than the VCORE Pro 97 (310), so they should feel pretty maneuverable. Troy, TW

    • @meto2854
      @meto2854 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tenniswarehouse what’s funny is that this Yonex has a swing of 317 and yet it’s so clunky and low-powered it takes a huge cut at the ball to get a good winner. I thought the Speed MP has a swingweight of 328...that is the only thing that “scares” me from buying it. The Instinct sounds like a good balance, but then you guys seem to like it least out of all the Head lines. I am really in a stump!
      Anyways thank you for replying, always appreciated!

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@meto2854, The current Graphene 360+ Speed MP has an average swingweight of 328, but if you look at the specs from the link I gave you earlier, you will see that the average swingweight is 320 for the Graphene XT, and actually 317 on the Graphene 360 Speed MP. The Instinct MP offers a bit more power, more like a Yonex EZONE 100, but has fairly decent control. Your Yonex VCORE Pro 97 is primarily control, the Speed MP is definitely a step up in power, but still pretty good control, and feel. The Instinct MP offers a bit more power than the Speed MP, but not as much control, and has a more muted feel. So I guess it just depends on what you are looking for, and when you say a "good balance" of power, and control, I guess that level of balance can be different depending on the player. Troy, TW

    I’ve been testing this racquet for the past few days, and I actually really like it a lot. I currently play with a Wilson Ultra 100 with Countervail. I don’t know what is going on with that racquet, but lately I’ve been having elbow pain. I tried the new Head Speed MP, and that bothered my elbow hours later. I’ve never really liked the Instinct as much as the Juice/Ultra series, but I think this latest Head Instinct MP model is much better. I feel like I can maneuver the racquet really easily and my shots are more accurate. I’m seriously considering this model and will probably buy it now, unless I show some patience and test the Clash first when that finally comes out. From what little I can find on the Wilson Clash, it’s saying that it’s very head light (9 HL) versus similar models (4 HL). That might be too head light for me. Anyway, I do think this Head Instinct MP is worth a very close look.
