I'm trying to learn Earthen Gate on bass by Ear, and now to double my ear training I'm going to try to start with say hello. This cover has helped me get my bearings so thanks.
So what I do is record my guitar via iphone (video camera) but to get a good tone the mic (iphone in this case) has to be super close to the amp. I then upload the video to movie maker and add the mp3 file of the song! It's not too hard just takes patience cuz the tricky part is syncing it up with the video.
hey man! nice play!!!!!!! i just brought a guitar recently, and im looking for good stuff to play and learn. do you have any tab for this music? i cant find material about fuzz anywhere ;( can you help a newbie guitarrist?? :D
Keep playing! This actually was the first song I learned by ear (I usually use tabs) but playing by ear seriously took me over 7 years of guitar fiddling and after I was able to sound out lots of things I like to jam to, I figured out how to play this song in about a year. (so like 8 years of playing for me to play Fuzz by ear)Also I heard the album the first day it came out in 2015 and kept jamming to it. A lot of my covers now are by ear, but I think there's kind of a secret to playing this specific Fuzz tune/tone. I don't know if this is how they recorded it, but I hear this song not at a normal 440Hz. They play it standard 440Hz live though so try playing along with their live videos. Reminds me of Metallica's "Ride the Lightning" album which is recorded at 442Hz(they play in Eb live which is awesome), but yeah. "Say Hello" to me sounds like it's in between E and Eb which is super cool and sounds dank. Pretty interesting and I have no idea if I'm right but whenever I tried to solo/jam to this song in standard it sounded off and in Eb it sounded off so I fiddadled in between and it sounds good
Dude, what an awesome job!
Thanks! \m/

Sweet, any chance you got the tabs for this? I got most of it by ear but there's some parts I'd really like to check the tab
All done by ear sorry!
What's the tuning?
Yeah dude... you should to put the tabs...please give us this gift haha
is it in standard?
It’s not. The tuning is actually in between standard and Eb. It’s odd but that was the only way I was able to jam along
are you using any fuzz pedals or is that the amp's gain?
