- Sooooo, we decided to change things up a bit since it's been 100 videos with the "What's for Dinner" theme. We decided to give it a new name that more accurately describes the meals we share with you. That's where "Winner Dinners" came in. Hope you love it! SUBBIE SUPPER Submitted by Sharon
SAUSAGE & MUSHROOM BREAKFAST CASSEROLE:
2-¼ cups seasoned croutons (enough to cover bottom of 9x13 baking dish)
1 pound bulk breakfast sausage
4 eggs, beaten
2-¼ cups milk
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 (4 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained
¾ teaspoon dry mustard
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (add at end of baking time)
Spread croutons in a lightly greased 9x13 baking dish; set aside. Brown sausage in skillet, stirring to crumble; drain well. Sprinkle sausage over croutons.
Combine eggs with next 4 ingredients and pour over sausage. Cover and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight.
Remove from fridge and let stand 30 minutes. Bake uncovered at 325 degrees for 50-55 minutes. Sprinkle cheese on top and bake another 5 minutes or until cheese melts. Garnish with cherry tomato halves and parsley if desired.

I got really nervous when I watch the first recipe because you didn't explain as you were going what you were putting in the dinners. I was very happy to see that the second dinner you did explain as you went along. You see I am blind and I listened to your recipes as you go along and then as I want to make it I go back and play the video while I'm making it because I can't read the recipe below. Thank you so much! You are one of the only people who actually says what they're putting in instead of just showing it up to the screen or only in the description below.

Maybe make a "blooper" video of all the "nope...never ever make that again" recipes (just the reactions not the actual cooking.) Or maybe make a video of how you took a "no" recipe and doctored it up to make it a "yes please". :-)

We have had Breakfast Casserole for Christmas morning for 30 years. Holiday tradition to put the casserole together last thing before we go to bed and put in the oven while we open presents. Use a 9x13 throw away pan and holiday paper plates and no clean up.
Also great to bake in advance and take to the lake house to reheat for a quick breakfast before a day on the water.
Ours is put together a little different. We use 8 slices of bread torn into pieces instead of croutons. We add the cheese to the top to refrigerate overnight. I also divide the milk. 2 cups in with eggs and ground mustard and the rest mixed with cream of mushroom soup poured over the top before you bake. Bake for 90 minutes at 325. The bread makes a crusty bottom and the casserole holds together to cut in squares.

Thank you for this week's video, Mandy, and it was great to see more of Gracie Lou, particularly in the bloopers when she was caught on camera climbing up to the table!! 😂 It made me smile anyway! I have checked out the recipe for the Turkey and spinach casserole and discovered that someone who had already made the recipe had used breadcrumbs instead of egg with the spinach so I think I might try that. I have a can of chicken soup that I need to use up so I can see this meal being on my menu this week. Hope you are keeping okay and haven't had any more migraines recently. Thank You for yet another great idea for dinner!!! I have to tell you every time you shred cheese makes me think of my cat (Nurm) and dog (Shadow). Every time I would shred cheese they would show up. Nurm would get pinch of cheese , Shadow would get that slice that is left inside the cone. Never failed. They are gone now but great memory!!! Hugs!!!
Love the name and I really like that you only include the dinners you loved. Honestly I always feel a little bad to criticize someone’s recipe bc I know a lot of heart goes into creating them.. I think it is a kindness to leave those ones out. Your channel is my favorite and helps me so much to find dinner ideas when I am drawing a blank (feels like all the time lol).

Sometimes when a recipe calls for corn tortillas, corn chips, tortilla chips-canned hominy is a really good substitution. Has a very similar flavor profile.
