WOW! If we just had more people in the world with as big of heart as Tony Hawk. He truly has turned out to be everything (and more) we hoped he would be when we were all kids trying to be him in our backyard ramps. Thanks Tony for not letting us down.
i met him in scotland at livingston, bones brigade tour. must have been around 1990. can only speak from that experience but... The bowl was grimy as hell with big chunks out of it, the kids were wild,the rain was coming and going, yet tony hawk happily skated with us. giving off some supreme chill vibes i will never forget. Outside of the demo itself, We skated together as one with the same purpose. It was super wholesome. i was a completely annoying grommet at the time, dude still gave me time of day and space to get a run in. thats my little tale lol ;) will never forgot how it all came together that day. It was a good thing for scottish skateboarding and a bunch of disenfranchised kids. dunno why i wrote this out but i got mad respect for the bones brigade LIVI still has energy from that day IMO;) i agree with your sentiment. im well pleased he didnt let us down.
