@andrewchristie2970 The average person criticizing this cop for taking his time would rather cops just come out of their patrol vehicles with guns drawn and shouting as if that's gonna calm a suspect instead of make them aggressive, defensive and reactive. My husband's been in the military 21 years, and we've pretty much seen it all at this point. But a couple years ago, a very young soldier went missing from our post a few days before xmas. Some teenagers had car jacked him, drove him 2 states over, shot him and left his body stuck in the snow infront of someone's home. The fear he must have felt all those hours in the car with them is just absolutely haunting. Killing someone over a car, when you could have just stolen it (or idk, worked for it) is just so cold blooded. You have to have no value for human life.. I'm sure this victim and the boy here would have handed those keys over in a second to walk away with their life.
@Zach-mw5so Yea actually, he had apparently sold something to these same kids off Facebook at some point prior. So the general consensus was that they saw a young, single soldier, driving a nice car, and assumed he must have money saved that they wanted, along with the car. So they set up another meeting with him to buy something else and this happened.. the kid was about 6'5 so I guess he thought he could handle himself meeting a bunch of teenagers in a pretty bad area, sadly, size doesn't matter when someone has a gun. My husband (and others) ended up having to teach safety courses to their soldiers for months after this happened.

It's so refreshing to watch an officer not place someone under arrest for committing a crime and dawdling around before following through with a lawful search after illegal substanceswere found in the possession of the suspect. Liberals would have you believe that this is a normal interaction. As if you just calmly talk to a guy with a body in a trunk like it's normal and everything will work out. 99% of the time this cop would be dead. If the kid had a gun that cop would have been dead. Period.
The cop did his job but if this guy was smarted or actually cared about getting away with it, he could have easily shot the cop in the back or ran away since he was just chilling there not handcuffed while the one cop there was facing away from him searching the car and whatnot. At the VERY least you'd expect him to start running but looks like the guy just gave up soon as he got pulled over.
As long as they don't hurt people who don't deserve it, physically or otherwise, I let cops do their job how they see fit. We barely pay them enough to keep the peace, we don't pay them enough to be Superman.

This is something many first responders have dealt with. Everyone deals with this in different ways. I've been able to deal with things in my own way but I know a lot of others who live with the nightmares.
Hello, I read that you are a therapist. Good day! I wanted to ask your take on 9:25. The cop asks who that is, but Mitchell replies very coldly and callously. Is this a form of disassociation from the event? He says, "Thats him. Thats Mike." But his tone of voice was super cold in confirming. But when the cop said, "How did Mike get there?" I understood that he was making Mitchell take responsibility. Hence why Mitchell begins to cry and say, "I just hit him." Now, was this a form of manipulation on Mitchell's behalf? He is indeed not sympathizing with any of this, but only wants out. I notice Narcissists tend to go into a victim mentality to remove themselves from any blame or shame. Could this be at work here?
this cop handled the whole situation remarkably well, especially being so calm after seeing the bullet holes the initial time. most people wouldve liked cuffed and put the individual in the back of their car while they figured the situation out, at bare minimum cuff to the cattle guard so keep someone from running. i know the US needs police reform but this guy is a stand up officer, ive seen videos of them spazzing out on nothing and this guy had all the reason to detain with probable cause and still let the kid openly stand without even patting him down. for therapy, ive had an idea that would i feel would benefit police forces. there should be a "point system" or something, whatever you want to call it. but basically its this: if a cop gets called out to a domestic abuse where lets say a guy is beating a woman or kids, however that situation goes they should be given 100 points, and if it escalates to a fight with the person then its an additional 100 points or something. if its a routine traffic stop that turns into a simple open container but the person isnt wasted and can just receive a ticket, thats 10 points. if its a DWI traffic stop thats 25-50 points. age modifiers for minors, more points for the more serious an incident. the reason for the points is after an officer accumulates 1000, 2000, whatever amount, then they have to be removed from field work for a minimum 2 weeks, and to continue working they are required to take therapy for atleast 3-5 sessions, and a self defense course of their choosing for atleast 40 hours (so it could be ju-jitsu, fire arms handling, boxing, driving class, whatever). if its a sponsored police course, like say driving to perform a pit maneuver or something, then the cop can sign up for that and once enough people are signed for the course in the department then the course is taken. this would facilitate better paid training for officers, require them to have therapy more regularly and allow them to decompress from the stress of the job. (im using arbitrary numbers, and solutions, but a panel of experts in police psychology/police field work could assign better values and treatment this is just for the sake of argument) i may have not explained my idea that well, i just worked a 12 hour overnight shift in a chemical plant so sorry about that but thats the gist of it. i have a buddy who was an officer and he said it can be crazy and theres no real way to release it. you can get called to a domestic abuse and you see a woman clearly beaten by someone and she declines help, says she fell down stairs type stuff, and the guy just gets off free, then immediately after that you have another call and its a break and enter, once thats handled you get in your car and have a DWI an hour later with an aggressive person raising hell, once all thats done you immediately goto another call for a car wreck or whatever crazy stuff is going on. its obviously not every shift, but even if 2 of those things happen in a shift and you have no way to take a step back then i can see why some cops get super agitated with any form of none compliance. its not always a power trip for them, sometimes its a simple "dude, ive had a fucked up month and i just want you to cooperate for 5 minutes so we can both go about our business, but i cant tell you that" so they spazz out.
That cop sounds like a dumb fawking redneck... 😒😒😒 That black kid who shot and killed that black man doesn't sound much smarter. In any case, what he did was wrong on so many levels, I don't even know where to start. By the way, this is yet another example of black on black crime.

The officer was extremely lucky neither happened, especially with the hindsight that he had just killed someone with their dead body in the vehicle.
The same thing goes for the young suspect, he remained cool and controlled his temper even after the body was found. He used his right to remain silent and tried to wieve his way out of the investigation, props to both the cop and the young man👏

So i believe his intention was to check the immediate area, such as the passengere area, glove box etc for a joint, weed or even to asses if there was weapons in the vehicles which could cause an escalation if things went sideways. It's probably a good thing he waited for back up tho, before going for the trunk and turning his back to the suspect. Because at the time, the guy had not been arrested, because no evidence was immedietly found right? Without conducting an on the stop drug test as well. My mom was an operator for the CHP back in the 80s, and she told me a story of one of the hardest nights at her job. It was getting late, past the end of her shift, but her last unit still hadnt clocked out, so she felt that she needed to wait until he got back. He called in and said he was doing one last stop for the night. He saw a guy running a stop sign and was pulling him over to give a ticket for a moving violation. The officer gets out, walks up towards the car he pulled over, and the other driver steps out of the car and tackles the officer to the ground. My mom hears the offer call in for back up, that hes being attacked. She hears the fear in his voice as this other man is beating him, hears them rolling around. Luckily, there was another unit nearby that was able to get there in time to help. Apparently, they guy being pulled over for running a stop sign was currently wanted for murder. He thought they had found him, and he wasnt gonna go down without a fight. My mom told me how glad she was that she decided to stay at work that night, that she refused to go home until all of her officers were back. Things can really change in an instant in that field of work.
Wow, what I'm shocked by is that this was her worst shift in that field of work. I have been in a hotel job for nearly ten years in shitty london area and we had so many "worst shift" we can't even count it anymore. I hope the officers involved get the counseling they need. The officer wearing the body camera was clearly shaken up by the discovery. The officers inability to give dispatch the details of what he found on the first go was telling that this hit him hard.
yea I don't think many people saw his hands shaking right after, when he was giving the report. we didn't get to see the body on camera obviously but imagine just seeing that completely out of no where? depending on the gun used for the murder and with several holes in it he had to have been pretty shaken to just see that out of no where.

I’m a therapist and this video makes me wish I was a counselor for a police department, but the requirements in most states usually mean that if you didn’t go to school specifically for forensic psychology, they won’t hire you. Hope all the police in situations like this and worse get any help they need. RIP to the deceased
I'm pretty sure they only hire their own so they don't have to pay for cops mental healthcare. If they want real treatment they have to pay out of pocket. Our mental healthcare system in this country is a joke.
Could this be at work here?
this cop handled the whole situation remarkably well, especially being so calm after seeing the bullet holes the initial time. most people wouldve liked cuffed and put the individual in the back of their car while they figured the situation out, at bare minimum cuff to the cattle guard so keep someone from running.
i know the US needs police reform but this guy is a stand up officer, ive seen videos of them spazzing out on nothing and this guy had all the reason to detain with probable cause and still let the kid openly stand without even patting him down.
for therapy, ive had an idea that would i feel would benefit police forces. there should be a "point system" or something, whatever you want to call it. but basically its this:
if a cop gets called out to a domestic abuse where lets say a guy is beating a woman or kids, however that situation goes they should be given 100 points, and if it escalates to a fight with the person then its an additional 100 points or something.
if its a routine traffic stop that turns into a simple open container but the person isnt wasted and can just receive a ticket, thats 10 points.
if its a DWI traffic stop thats 25-50 points.
age modifiers for minors, more points for the more serious an incident.
the reason for the points is after an officer accumulates 1000, 2000, whatever amount, then they have to be removed from field work for a minimum 2 weeks, and to continue working they are required to take therapy for atleast 3-5 sessions, and a self defense course of their choosing for atleast 40 hours (so it could be ju-jitsu, fire arms handling, boxing, driving class, whatever). if its a sponsored police course, like say driving to perform a pit maneuver or something, then the cop can sign up for that and once enough people are signed for the course in the department then the course is taken.
this would facilitate better paid training for officers, require them to have therapy more regularly and allow them to decompress from the stress of the job.
(im using arbitrary numbers, and solutions, but a panel of experts in police psychology/police field work could assign better values and treatment this is just for the sake of argument)
i may have not explained my idea that well, i just worked a 12 hour overnight shift in a chemical plant so sorry about that but thats the gist of it.
i have a buddy who was an officer and he said it can be crazy and theres no real way to release it. you can get called to a domestic abuse and you see a woman clearly beaten by someone and she declines help, says she fell down stairs type stuff, and the guy just gets off free, then immediately after that you have another call and its a break and enter, once thats handled you get in your car and have a DWI an hour later with an aggressive person raising hell, once all thats done you immediately goto another call for a car wreck or whatever crazy stuff is going on. its obviously not every shift, but even if 2 of those things happen in a shift and you have no way to take a step back then i can see why some cops get super agitated with any form of none compliance. its not always a power trip for them, sometimes its a simple "dude, ive had a fucked up month and i just want you to cooperate for 5 minutes so we can both go about our business, but i cant tell you that" so they spazz out.

Massive props to the officer for his excellent control of the scene and calm under pressure.

Wow, thats shocking😮
Wow, what I'm shocked by is that this was her worst shift in that field of work. I have been in a hotel job for nearly ten years in shitty london area and we had so many "worst shift" we can't even count it anymore. And they were all MUCH more intense and dangerous than her example. Makes me wonder if I should get compensation for all the stress and traumas 😞

The original video for this was probably he most intense cop vid I've ever seen. It was slow, but like emotionally intense. I highly recommend watching it even though you know what happens. It's pretty amazing how it all developed. That cop was great. Probably the bust of his career.
I saw it too. I felt anxiety and guilt as if I was feeling some of what the criminal was feeling, kind of like when you watch your classmate or sibling get in trouble lol
I’ve only seen this and I DO NOT BELIEVE IT. Ty I’ll check out full vid. Something is off almost like a movie plot only real life, 40 seconds of edited vid. Something is bugging me. Almost meant to take the fall
@@IvoryDracothe real video is about double the length, it’s a really intense vid
You could tell from the beginning this outstanding officer had an eerie feeling. Emotionally intense is a great way to word it.
Link?
That is a really good cop, he was completely professional he didn't escalate the situation until it was necessary and he pulled a confession out of the dumb guy. This shows that you don't have to be a prick to get results I wish there were officers like him.

The fact he hadn't handcuffed this dude after finding out he was lying is insane AND had bullet holes in his car. If this guy was a really bad guy and he turned his back, game over before back up arrived. Officer is lucky to be alive, and it's probably why he was so shook up at the end because he realized.
I was thinking the same thing! Terrible policing honestly. Dude lied multiple times and wasn't even detained even after seeing the bullet holes? gtfo.

I hope the officers involved get the counseling they need. The officer wearing the body camera was clearly shaken up by the discovery. The officers inability to give dispatch the details of what he found on the first go was telling that this hit him hard.
I hope the main officer gets much needed training on safety of traffic stops and how to actually detain a suspect before performing searches.
@@Sevicify Officer did fine, he committed the needful.
yea I don't think many people saw his hands shaking right after, when he was giving the report. we didn't get to see the body on camera obviously but imagine just seeing that completely out of no where? depending on the gun used for the murder and with several holes in it he had to have been pretty shaken to just see that out of no where.
@@pleasantpeasant7770 I disagree. He should've detained the suspect and put him in his cruiser for officer safety when he found out his story wasn't adding up. It was pure luck suspect didn't ambush him when the officer turned his back on him, especially when that random guy provided perfect distraction. This could've easily ended bad but luckily it didn't. You never know what people do when they have dead body in their trunk and they just want to flee at any cost.
How this cop didn't call a second unit at any number of points is amazing. A second guy pulled up behind him and he still didn't call another car on the scene and his spider senses should have been off the charts. Super dangerous.
Actually, you can hear him call for “Scooter” right when the older man pulls up behind them. He was rightfully very concerned in that moment.

That’s awesome how the officer used his training to keep things calm and orderly. I’ll never understand how someone can take a human life and try to live their own life as if nothing happened. I love what Joe Kenda says, "if you kill, I will find you".
He def didn’t feel like nothing happened. He smoked to get high and get his mind off of it, and then broke down after having to tell the truth. It’s eating at the dude.

As someone who worked in law enforcement before becoming a private investigator, he’ll be fine or if he’s not suited to be a police officer lol. Trust me, even when I was working at a hospital at 18 years old we were moving gunshot victims and people that have their heads decapitated to the morgue as I was a Hospital security guard all the way back then. Hell, even when I worked at the hospital, I had to deal with putting away aborted babies who are shredded in pieces.
Then I went and worked at a prison as a prison officer and dealt with situations like prison riots seeing my partners get stabbed in the neck with makeshift weapons before finally working on the streets. Dealing with some truly nasty things and being shot at.
So yeah, if a cop freaks out and gets depressed or whatever about seeing a simple, dead body, he’s not suited to be a cop lol.
Trust me when I say, Asnan office workers, so police military EMTs doctors nursing staff. You’re going to experience and see things that most people will never dream of it either get used to it or find a new career path.
For someone that murdered someone and is driving around with the body in the trunk he was relatively calm. Seems like this is not his first body. The only time he broke down and showed some remorse is when he was found out.
Two young lives were lost in this scenario. Really sad.
