I am using docker for both production and development environment it's make deployment much easier and painless. having an almost identical environment in both development and production helps reduce lots of problems

you don't need to worry about the database version that you are gonna use in your server or the version of your nodejs and etc. you can use the exact same image version that you used in the production in your local environment. yes it might add some complexity to the development but we have great tools like laravel-sail to start using docker without even needing to have deep knowledge about docker itself

@@pronskiy for development I use windows + ubuntu on wsl2 and for production I use Ubuntu server

Laragon by Lekhoa is one of the coolest dev env for Windows. Easier to jump between different versions of PHP, MySQL, Apache, Nginx, etc.
