However, going that long without oxygen would almost definitely result in permanent brain damage. We can assume the creators heard that and just waved off the brain damage part. Or, a more realistic scenario, maybe they stopped breathing due to the smoke, and once the smoke cleared they were able to breathe again, giving the flea a chance to save them? And don't say that Inuyasha or Shippo would have noticed them breathing again, because clearly Kagome wasn't dead as Inuyasha held her, but he didn't notice. It's safe to say grief clouded their perception

He had to learn the hard way not to cry, to stay alive. After so many years of being alone and no one to hold him as a child when he was afraid or hurt. He'd eventually think there was no point to crying, no one would care anyway. Glad he has Kagome and their friends now.

They passed out and Shippo brought them in a temple to put them in a safe place to recover while Inuyahasha was fighting But during another fight the temple got burnt and Kagome ,Miroku and Sango "died" there

I think it's also because he is a half demon as well and it is frowned upon for demons to show emotions because they view them as being a weak human feeling. Inuyasha is actually a lot more emotional when he is a human and Miroku is emotional around Sango sometimes despite being a guy. It seems demons in general try not to feel emotions because they are secretly afraid of looking vulnerable in front of other demons who might perceive them as weak and easy pray.

The wild thing is that even though Kagome swam within the first few episodes of the series to save a village kid, on top of no one taking the time to have her trained, why wasn't there any time to say, "Hey, since CPR wasn't invented and well-known until...why don't I teach my friends in the event of an emergency. Like drowning or a fire which were some common ways to die in this time period." I'm not mad at Kagome or the Tachi, I do get mad about the writing for the anime.
