I've had a palm springs twice, a vegas and a Zurich that now has water leaking from the bottom of the pump. I've just ordered a Hollywood today and whilst I was on Amazon I noticed a non return valve for the A pipe that fits into the front of the pipe and sits where the pump screws onto the A pipe. I was thinking that I might order one now so I can use it on the Hollywood from day one. It's possibly the water going back into my pump that's caused the problem. This has been an issue since 2018 when I bought my first spa and they still haven't rectified the problem. I'll watch your video as soon as I get chance. Just wanted to let you know before I forget or lose the page. 👍
Folks, our one was leaking out of the main "A" hose that you use to pump up the Tub as in the video above . There was nothing broken on the main rubber bit at all. What I did was get the lid off of a 20 Litre vegetable oil container, the ones Fish Shops use and remove the waterproof large 10p like white bit of seal that sits under the lid. It is glued in the middle but will come out. Then get roughly measure what you need and cut around the disc shape you have. It does not have to be perfect but must fit over the tightening ring and not fall through. Once in place no leaks at all.. If anyone wants a pic of the mock seal I made please message me via messenger.
Brilliant!I'm having the same problem with my A-hole...water gushing out and when the egg is attached it leaks from underneath.Hoping I can reach my A-hole to fix it.Damn A-holes.Thanks!
No such luck.I have the green Coleman version and this valve (that I can see is detached and only covering half of the A hole) is 8 or so inches down the tube into the tub.My best hope now will be to stop the leaking from inside the egg where I found one of the rubber one way valve plungers has deteriorated around its edge and leaking out of the bottom.Another guy recommends stretching the springs inside the blower apparatus inside the egg in order to force the two plungers against their stops harder to prevent them from leaking.I've had mine for 4 years and would just buy a new one, but since Covid they have gone frm $350 to well over $500.Anyway, thanks for the info and the remedy.Happy hot tubbing!
I agree and have been through the same process with Intex. My version is the "Greywood deluxe" SB-HW20. The non return valve is even further inside the tube (about 100mm). I have seen this rubber flap on ebay and Ali-express though. Unfortunately for me it seems like the Greywood deluxe variant is to hard to fix. I am thinking of buying a "standard" return valve and glue it in the tube. Any recommendations regarding the SB-HW20 is appreciated.
I have the same leak and did this repair. Fiddly but worked thank you. Then I realized I had a spare air screw valve (air valve you unscrew to inflate) and this fits inside the A pipe of the Miami perfect. If further down the line the rubber on that valve perishes its an easy and cheap swap (£4.99 for two PART No. B-BWF4024)
So glad I found this video. It took me a long time to get it all in place, but finally I did. It drips a little bit, but I can handle that. Thanks for sharing this info 😊😊
This is a great vid, but newer Hawaii tubs have the valve placed way down the pipe @ ~ 215mm making this repair even more difficult. If I can't get to it to fix it I'm going to try to remove the flap valve dis and fabricate a new valve which I will cement nearer the end of the pipe. The pipe is probably ABS so pipe cement should work, will have to get creative with the valve material.
This idea is great for when you still have part of the valve, however my partner has come up with a solution for this issue that attaches between the tub and the blower. We are currently having the part produced. Its ideal if your valve has perished like ours did where we unable to copy the above idea. the solution we have works perfectly, it takes less than 30 seconds to fit and is cheaper than a new liner
Siobhan Smith I have the same problem my valve broke in half and I can’t get it out . Could you give me any idea what I could you to fix my problem please
Siobhan Smith was wondering if you had any update on this part..... had I a 3D printer I would have done the same!! Will be happy to take one if you can let me know!
Amazing Phil thank you for sharing we have this problem we have located the valve disk in the air jets we managed to get it round but any ideas how to reach it and pull it out?
You do know you can buy those seals on eBay their about a tenner (abit expensive I know) but it’s a lot cheaper also than (£250.00) for a new liner I checked with bestway
It looks like the disk has been sucked into the actual liner. We did find it's little broken shaft. Tried to feel around the low route that the air blows along to see if we could isolate where the round disk was but not successful. Any suggestions for finding the disk would be appreciated. We are at a loss now. :(
Our tub has a plastic 'gate' at the back of it too, so it can't fall inside the liner. However, if you can't find it you'll have to make one from rubber. Maybe try an old bike tyre or inner tube and see if that works? It might be more flexible and easier to get in place.
hi phil.....just checked mine and the rubber part aint in mine at all , must have been lost inside the tub walls .... going to give this a try but was wondering if i do manage to get the fix done how tight do i do the nut and bolt up , do i have it with a little give .....thanks regards gary .
Hi thank you for your video. We have managed to get ours out but it’s snapped in two pieces. I’ve googled to try and get a new one. They don’t seem to do a spare part for it. Gutted can anyone help or suggest anything? Thanks 👍
Hi sonia, no reply I'm afraid but I have the same problem but don't see the original valve anywhere, could you tell me the size of it please? I've ordered some of the suction caps as per another viewers recommendation, as the one I pieced together still allows water out, although I did use lino but think it could be done with a flexible rubber and the bolt and nut solution? Thanks
I know!! And liners out of stock at lay z spa!! So would that be 40 or 45mm width? If you can find some rubber, same thickness then the bolt solution by Phill is good. I'll let you know how I get on. Love my spa and gutted this has happened...
Mandi Hale I’m not sure of the size as my husband as put it away but that is our plan too. We hope to get some rubber next week and try. I will Let you know and I will let you know the size of the circle Tomorrow
Hi phil this happened to my lazy spa can I still use it without this and just the leak? And what size is the nut and bolt in which you used wondering were I can pick one up, cheers.
This stops water leaking back toward the pump. Without it, you en up with water around the pump unit and a slowly reducing water level. Hope this helps!
I have come up with an alternative fix for those, like myself, whose rubber is broken or perished but I can't add pictures here....I'll have to sort out somewhere to show
ours leaks out of the air intake valve. when you unscrew to put air in water runs out? there is so much water in there i cant even lift the bloody thing with all the water drained out from inside! any ideas anyone?
Hi Phil thanks for the vid I've been on a mission trying to find out where to get one! Mine had totally fell apart would you know the size that the rubber was? I'll try and cut my own, Sorry to be a pain. Many thanks.
Hi Phil thanks for posting this video, ive searched through quite a few on here and havent seen any cover this particular topic, ive tried all the other fixes and this is the last one left i havent tried but before i start i wanted to ask when the pump unit is fully disconnected and away and there is water in the tub spa should zero water come out of this exit? as my rubber stem seems to be attached however water is slowly coming underneath the rubber washer part at a fairly stable trickle? thanks i advance
Hi John, The rubber is not totally flexible so I would imagine it allows a little water through when cold. However once warm, we out the bubbles on briefly and then switched them off, and the seal was almost complete. Warm water will soften the rubber and make a better seal. My advice would be not to do this unless your seal is broken.
I have a new lay z spa vegas hot tub with freezeshield technology it worked for a few days but then the eo2 error came on. Outside in the cold about 2 degrees c it comes on and won't go off but when I take it in the house and its warned up the eo2 disappears the pump is supposed to be made for colder weather can anyone help please??
It effects the pressure of the air that is circulated around the tub. I have also had this problem, which I discovered today. I heard a pop and the pressure of the bubbles dropped immediately. Air will circulate but barely make it around the tub.
So i re checked it all. I resealed punctures properly (by slightly letting it down once I marked the puncture) It has stayed inflated. I also checked with soapy water the A valve and there was no air leaking.
Mine leaks from the side of the NR valve. I never use the blower so was thinking just to blank off the A coupling. Can you buy a blank off the shelf, or is it a custom size?
I'd be surprised if there's an off-the-shelf blank, but there is a cap in the box your tub came in which you can screw on from the outside if you're really never gonna use the air bubbles.
So my question on the loctite is, why does loctite blue come in a red container and loctite red come in a blue container? If I told my wife to go to the hardware store and get some loctite blue, she would most surely come home with loctite red.
Lazy Spa is the perfect name for it as Bestway was too Lazy and cheep to build a decent hot tub that lasts more than two years. First a gasket went on mine which is only available from Bestway (they are very proprietary about the junk parts they produce) this cost me $20 forvtwo gaskets worth about a dollar. Bit that installed and now water is leaking from the pump. What a terrible product so poorly made!
Nobody has that much time! It was a fiddle but basically I folded it in half, put it in and then positioned it once it was on the other side of the plastic frame.
Thanks Phil, you inspired me to have a go. I posted a video of my modification. And it works. th-cam.com/video/tIM0n0jZuNI/w-d-xo.html. I fixed the E01 and E02 issue as well. Here: th-cam.com/video/SEZacwdSKuY/w-d-xo.html

Nice one Dude! Gona try this... we were thinking we needed a new liner but definitely try this first 👌
Much appreciated

I for one hate a leaky A hole!! 😂😂 Thanks for your handy tips on how to prevent further seepage..
🤣
I agree. "It's the last thing anyone needs..."😄
Absolutely.
Amazing Phil thank you for sharing we have this problem we have located the valve disk in the air jets we managed to get it round but any ideas how to reach it and pull it out?
It might be possible with long nosed pliers but we had some long tweezers with a bent end, weirdly.

You do know you can buy those seals on eBay their about a tenner (abit expensive I know) but it’s a lot cheaper also than (£250.00) for a new liner I checked with bestway

Mandi Hale hi it’s just bigger than a 50p piece around 3mm in thickness. And obviously round in shape. Nightmare really

Ours was sitting right behind where it was supposed to be, so our long tweezers reached it easily enough.

20 to 25mm should do it.
very helpful thanks

Yes exactly.
Hi! What problem did this missing valve cause? Is it just stop the water from coming out, if you remove the pump with water still in the pool?
It effects the pressure of the air that is circulated around the tub. I have also had this problem, which I discovered today. I heard a pop and the pressure of the bubbles dropped immediately. Air will circulate but barely make it around the tub.
The valve allows the jet bubbles into the tub, but stops the water leaking back into your pump/egg. So when it fails, water leaks through the egg.
Bought a led light for Monaco said on instructions turn the outlet filter anti lock wise and the filter fitting has snapped off.How can this b fixed.
If the plastic has snapped, I'm not sure but if it's an official.product I'd be chasing the guarantee.
Will this cause the liner to deflate?
No, its only associated with the bubbles. The rub is inflates thru a separate valve port higher up but on the same side of the tub.
It will cause it deflate ive had same problem
So i re checked it all. I resealed punctures properly (by slightly letting it down once I marked the puncture) It has stayed inflated. I also checked with soapy water the A valve and there was no air leaking.

Sorry no, it was one I had lying around. I think around 25mm long but not sure of the diameter.

41mm

No sir.
