C405, it's a 22nf metalized polypropylene film capacitor. I think it's a mains filter, I guess its a vital component and the power supply must have protection. It's the most common fault across most similar Yamaha amps. @@FixTechStuff Thanks for the information. It is worthy reading. Looks like there is a switching power supply? Unfortunately I don't have the schematic. Thanks again.
It was the same value cap , it comes on i see the radio stations and lights and then hear a click and it goes of. Iam at work now. I will take a picture of the new one or give you the details. I never did amy repairs on nothing so iam a novice in all this.
I apreciate you getting back to me. Iam from the island of curacao. The netherlands antilles, along with aruba and bonaire. The island of andrew jones ,kenley jansen, bam bam meulens, ozzy albes
I'm not sure about that one, other than the 2 faults I have another which died in a bad way. I'm beginning to hate the complexity surrounding their particular soft power circuitry. Search more on Google and you may find something.
You might need to do a bit of googling, it's what I actually did years ago on the first one of these I repaired, those things don't normally fail, but on these amps they do for some reason. Keep in mind the cap may have a different value in different countries. I am in Australia and this amp is a 240 volt version. hey hello there, i am suing yamaha rx v695 it is going to protection mode, afrer going into DIAG mode i see error " tmp prt 172" which is a thermal sensor faulty error, i am not able t locate where this sensor is, since you own somilar model, please let me know where these sensor is located, i will repair on my own. :)
I'm not familiar with that fault code. A google search did turn up some results, so perhaps you might be lucky. I've got a different Yamaha repair coming up soon, I accidentally bumped the impedance switch while unplugging my amp to do a volume pot repair and bad things happened!
This is very useful for repair, thanks
hello. is the pitch 15mm?
Between the capacitor pins? I believe so yes.
@@FixTechStuff yes, thank you
What cap in the circuit are you replacing? How come the faulty cap make it no power?

My Yamaha receiver power button won’t even toggle - it’s frozen/stuck. It doesn’t turn on via remote control either. Could it be the same problem?
It’s very possible. I’ve done this twice so far.
@@FixTechStuff Ok, I'll replace the internal power switch & hope that does the job. All the capacitors appear to be fine. Thanks!
kindly tell me the solution i have yamaha Rx v861 Master audio with HDMI when i play dvd player with HDMI suddenly avr off avr not on till now

hi i changed the capasitor, still has the same problem

I cant find C405 capacitor im web. Is it 22nF 630V?
From memory yes. 400V would also do. This one here I think. ebay.us/Ie8bvZ
I just went and checked my 2nd amp with the same cap and confirmed it’s 630v. 223J630V
