Very very nice! 😊 Being an investor though I would rather keep everything at home than rent a storage unit, probably £100ish a month I’d guess aka 2 sealed cases a year which is why I personally couldn’t justify having one! But yeah they do take up a lot of space. I have a spare room thankfully so everything goes there. Given you’re in the UK maybe worth focusing a bit on Fusion Strike boxes whilst the Pokémon centre still has stock. They seem an incredible pickup given they went from $143 to 230+ in the US after they sold out and they’re already selling for over retail on eBay UK despite Pokémon centre having some for £143. Haven’t really touched S&V so could be better off picking up SV boxes instead at £100ish. I’m just feeling Sword and shield way more as a long term investment so been putting all my money there
Thank you! It's a choice I had to make because of the volume of stuff I have and for safety reasons. Fusion strike is a great shout, along with Brilliant Stars and Astral Radiance. I have a decent amount of every SWSH set and my personal goal is building a position in all the S&V sets for now. Although I will still by SWSH BB's if there are good deals around. Thanks for tuning in
Great video again mate only been collecting myself a couple of months stupidly I wend all in and bought booster boxes and opened them up and game exclusive celibrations box’s and opened those as well 🤦♂️ I’ve now came to my senses and started picking up product to keep sealed and if I wand a card from a set I’ll buy the single card I totally agree collect to your own satisfaction not to show off what you got if your absolutely minted and money isn’t an issue invest it.. I’m collecting on a budget and love it
@meatthepete1506 thanks mate! We have all been there and bought and too many ripped boxes. I remember ripping through two evo Skies boxes and later regretting it 🤣. But the thrill of the chase gets us all and you've got a good strategy with buying the cards you like. I've got a video on budget investing, I think it's definitely something anyone can do depending on their own budget. Take care buddy
My only suggestions here - and this isn't hating Avoid the negative talk about haters, the downsides of content creation, etc. It'll only negatively impact your growth. Maintain positivity and confidence. Best way I could compare is imagine you go to McDonalds and order a big mac - and the employee stars rambling on about how and why it sucks to make a big mac... you probably wouldn't wanna go back and order another
Another good video mate. I've only got a couple of sealed booster boxes pokemon wise, Ultra Prism and Roaring skies. I have some UPC's, bit of japanese and ETBs.
@Foxy1Airsoft thank you I appreciate your kind words. You're too humble! Ultra Prism & Roaring Skies is INSANE! Fantastic! I love those sets but I can't justify the price tag lol. You sound like a well seasoned collector, props to you 👏 🙌🏽 I also love a little bit of Japanese sealed product thrown into the mix, I personally like the cards better
@@baztoise yea I have more vids in private opening flashfire throughout 2015 and i think some other sets into 2019. All you need is that demand spike that could happen 10 years from now and some of the sets today could be looked at as flashfire is today.. but nobody can predict it. Some people think its all over, to many prints.. but they forget the demand here, the increase in box openings compared to pre 2020. There was no where near this amount of whatnot, TH-cam, tiktok, and box breakers back then. All you need is a bear market period where demand lacks, causing stagnant box prices which equals cheap boxes that will be opened over the next 10 years and then one spike in demand will consume the available supply. Flashfire along with all other boxes were basically stagnant until 2020.
@Charmilli I agree, the Internet and streaming along with box breaking changed everything. I think the demand is also a lot more now than it was back then. Basically anyone with an Internet connection has access to these products and the market just seems to gobble it all up. It will be an interesting next 5-10 years for sure
I recently got back into collecting thanks to a coworker and have picked up some extras for investing, maybe too much extra for my budget, but it will work out eventually. My oldest sealed is a case of Lost Origin booster boxes and a few Celebrations UPC's. Thanks for sharing your collection and thoughts in this weird niche market.
@@shadowmonk36 Hey, Lost Origin and Celebrations UPC are both lovely products! Well done! I think we all go a little overboard sometimes when collecting. You should do well with these products in the future
I grabbed my cousin's pokemon binder during covid. picked up 4 evolving skies etb's because i liked the cards in the set at release more than all the other modern cards i had seen. opened one, kept 3 sealed. A few charizard celebrations collections and sylveon celebrations collections. ive considered selling those but 30th anniversary is so close I'm just going to hold. and finally some 151 booster bundles that Ive highly considered selling before reprint just to collect what I want from the set.
Nice collection dude. Like you I had to start getting a storage place to put all the sealed product I was obtaining as it was overtaking my office space and it’s defo become an addiction 😅. As for giveaways, I wouldn’t do one if I told I had to or boost a social account I’d rather do it because I genuinely wanted to and give back to the community. Haters gonna hate but as you say they serve a purpose in boosting our posts 😂
Thanks for the kind words brother. It definitely is an addiction but I just love it. I wish I could pull everything out of storage and build a massive collection wall from floor to ceiling and troll the trolls, lol but the thought of pulling out all the boxes and cases, filming it in my living room and then having to take it back to the storage facility gives me anxiety lol. But that would be truly fun! I honestly do giveaways because I enjoy giving something small back to people who take the time to watch my videos, it's not much effort and if it makes someone's day, it feels really good. I won't deny that it does boost engagement, but how else do we pick a winner without a comment? I honestly don't get why haters have to start personal digs at people. I am 100% open to being criticised but at least don't talk smack while they're at it lol
Since I moved to Portugal from the UK I havent been able to invest in Pokemon but generally it is a good long term investment. Nice sealed product tbh.
@naughtycookie3314 hey, thanks for the lovely comment. It's hard to get products in Europe, I understand. I wish I could recommend a good source for product but I don't know much about the Portuguese market unfortunately
@mos_tekmusic7285 haha 😄 I should have kept more sealed lol, I just loved the set and opened a fair bit when it was still available. I gotta keep what I have sealed. These investments are for my kids tbh
@@baztoise that's interesting never really thought of that. You really think the hobby will still have the same value in 20 years? I'm not too sure. Things have significantly settled down in just the last couple of years, I just picked up a PS9 base set zard for my collection for just over $1000. 4 years ago that would have costed me my house and my first born lmao. I mean sure hope they retain their value cuz I've got a lot in my personal collection thats worth a ton. But definitely not something I bank on. I'm more into the reselling for the quick turn around.
You've definitely thought this through, which is commendable and smart. LMAO it's true the hype was crazy a couple of years ago and I think these periods of hype may well and truly happen over and over, so it's really about timing when I decide to sell. I know I won't ever catch the top of the market, and I plan to scale out of my positions gradually. Now we don't know for sure what will happen in the future but if there is any TCG that stands a chance of longevity, I think it is Pokemon and that's just based on the sheer size of the company, the fan base, the infinite number of "gimmicks" they can but still haven't explored... I mean like serialised cards, for example. I think Pokemon hasn't even scratched the surface yet of all the things they can do to continually innovate into the next 10-20 years. My time horizon is also much shorter than 20 years. My kids are fast approaching their teens and will be in their 20's in around 10 years time so if the boxes are worth significantly more at that point then I'd rather help them out when they're just getting started in life and it can pay for education or to start a business or whatever they want to pursue. That's not to say, though, if the market increases 400%-500% in the 5 years for example, that I won't offload and take some profits and give them some and re-evaluate the portfolio and re-invest or diversify into other assets. Also, Pokemon makes up less than 5% of my total net-worth, so, much like yourself, I don't bank on it. It's just another side investment that I enjoy.
@@baztoise I wouldn't say I've really thought about it as much as I fear non-stability. Stuff is always going up and down so you can never really predict what stuff is going to be worth a lot. I'm actually calling it right now, twilight masq seemed like a miss for a lot of people but I think that sets a sleeper and some of those full arts are going to be worth more down the line. Just a guess tho. But yeah it's just the stability thing and realistically I know that's just basically the fear talking because let's be real here right, exactly like you said if any TCG can withstand the test of time it's pokemon. And the only real way the market for trading cards would crash, is if the actual dollar crashes and at that point there's a lot more we gotta worry about than "oh sht my psa10 moonbreon is worthless now" lmao, so it really is a fairly stable market. I just like to get while the gettings good. Couple months ago I walked into a card shop and dude had umbreon Vmax for 1000, talked him down to $850 cash, and had it sold 4 hours later for $1200. I've also got a wife god bless her soul she's a saint-- who doesn't really understand the hobby cuz it's not her thing, so when I spend $1000 on a piece of cardboard to put it in a slab and then stick it on a shelf she be like ???????????????????? Lmfao love her to death tho
Yeah, I agree with your thoughts on the market. It's a fickle thing, and we could see long periods of stagnation. If the economy goes to the toilet, then we have a lot more to worry about than just shiny cardboard as you've rightly said. That umbreon flip sounds like a smart move. Well done on that one. My missus is the same. She knows nothing about the hobby lol, and tbh I don't think she cares that much. She respects the fact that I enjoy it and goes along with it even though it's probably a little bit of a weird thing to collect at my age 😂 in her eyes. But it definitely helps when they take our word for it.
